The fear you have can be eliminated with research of sell-through rates and correctly comping out items. Good sales - out of curiosity, How do you determine your price, as in the last 2 digests. typically sellers use the same. .99, .95. or if your a tech student .88 But yours are all over the place. Just curious

    • @kandmresell
      @kandmresell  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! Great question… my wife and I both make listings and use different numbers for the change. I always joke that my items are with .01 more based on my experience 🤣 it also helps us when something gets returned because we know whose listing it was. My wife tends to end things is .86 and I tend to end things in .87 or .88 depending on the dollar value… sometimes with the higher dollar items, all thinking goes out the window and we will use whatever we want (that’s where you see some odd ones!). We also sell similar and reduce the item cost of things that have been sitting for a month by 5%. That makes the change wonky too. Definitely not a whole lot of strategy or consistency over here!

    The Bondi 7s are now at Ross for $79 brand new. Just bought a pair. Several other Hoka models as well. I also bought a pair of Birkenstock Andermatts for 49 for myself. This past fall they also had Dr Martens boots for 49 and 69, Uggs, Crocs all for prices you used to be able to get for used. Marshalls is selling Hey Dudes for 35, prices I used to be able to get for used and also noticed that Hey Dude now has their own discount eBay store.

    Question, what made you come to 10% on promoted listing across the board 🤔?

    • @kandmresell
      @kandmresell  8 місяців тому +3

      Honestly we started doing it when they released it years back. It helped and always has helped sales, as well as we had the margin to do it and every time we have tried to turn it off, our sales absolutely tank. We will probably decrease them though in the future once we get to the sales a day we are aiming for! My advise is if you can afford to run them with your business model, then try an experiment with them to see the outcome and to see if it’s worth keeping them on! but, if you’re happy with your current sellthrough/sales then don’t change what works!

      My advice is I learned on UA-cam from others who were successful and you can also do the same! The most important thing I would advise is to study sell-through rate and once you understand it, begin researching as much as you can through what others are selling on UA-cam as well as personal research of looking things up to figure out what’s good and what’s not. Sell-through rate is the make or break of resellers and there’s plenty of videos out there to help learn it as well as I will be posting videos in the near future about it. The last tip of advice is spend 90-95% of your time researching what to buy at the start if you’re worried about buying bad items. I love your drive at 16 to want to start a business! Wish I had started this business when I was in high school haha. Oh last thing, go slow and steady and always aim for growth. Just cause everyone is flexing large numbers on social doesn’t mean you need to race to the level they are at. It took them time to get to the point they are and it’ll take you time as well. The most enjoyable part of the business is the beginning, so enjoy the ups and downs through the process cause they will come! Thanks for watching and hope my videos help you if you decide to pursue this hussle!

    Great video! What’s the best way to search sell through rate?

    • @kandmresell
      @kandmresell  8 місяців тому +2

      Thanks for watching! Great question, and we will make a more in depth video on the in the coming weeks. When looking up a potential item in store on the eBay app, first search up what you have and then go to filters in the top right corner. You’ll look at the number of how many items are listed based on your search terms and filters. This number is shown in blue at the bottom! Say it’s a Peter millar summer comfort polo and there are 80 geometric size large polos listed. You will then scroll further down the filters section and toggle on the sold and completed items buttons. Check out what that number says at the bottom! The goal in the example I gave would be that at least 80 geometric size large Peter millar summer comfort polos would have sold too! These search results show everything from 90 days! We also like to filter it as much as possible (if it’s used, make sure you change the condition to pre-owned, size, sometimes material). From there it’s just looking in the solds to see if you like the sale prices you are seeing vs item cost in store! Best of luck!

      The only reason we have one is due to the decreased listing fee costs with having one. Once your store gets to a certain point in active listings, it becomes better to pay the monthly store subscription than paying insertion fees as the monthly cost is much cheaper than the insertion fee cost throughout the month. Hope that makes sense!

      I can usually look through the entire men’s category in 30 mins, but the route I do in stores in typically shoes, quick scan jeans and pants, (winter stuff due to the season), button shirts, polos. I don’t touch the t shirt section unless they are on a new rack.
      My recommendation is to just do the category you are the most familiar with at first or if you’re familiar with most categories than do the one your gonna find the most items in on average, whether that’s most average sale price items or just quantity. Your choosing.
      There’s also a lot of variations to that though for us, as we know our competition in Dallas and what they sell typically so if we see a pants seller walk in at the same time, we might decide to go through the pants before anything else to increase our odds of finding flips and compete with the competition.

      My sense right now with Dress is you want the more modern stuff, as "Dressing Up" is kind of out right now, but when it comes back in, as every fashion does, the vintage stuff might do better. Just a speculation, but if so, legacy English Dress brands like ETON and T&A could pop in demand. Cheers and congratulations on your nuptials.

    Nice sales!! Enjoyed your content! Can I ask, how many listing do you put up a day on eBay to achieve 1k of sales a day? Thanks in advanced. Keep up the great work!

      This month we’re listing 32 a day and selling around $900 a day. Our sales are slightly down this month I believe because it’s the peak of winter and most of our store is summer items. Mid February I’m expecting the summer stuff to start selling like crazy as that was around the time in previous years the summer stuff started to pick up!

      Forgot to say the sold daily is probably a better number to look at which currently ours is 22.35 items a day this month on average, but it’s slowly increasing with time :)

    • @kandmresell
      @kandmresell  8 місяців тому +1

      Honestly it just depends on the week and how much stuff we need! I’d say it’s probably 1/2 to 2/3 of our time working and currently my wife and I work 4 days a week and at most 8 hours a day on eBay stuff!

    u recon scrubbin them NBs clda got ya a few xtra bucks? killer totals

    • @kandmresell
      @kandmresell  8 місяців тому +1

      If I remember correctly, I threw them in the washing machine like I do with most dirty sneakers and the stains didn’t come out fully. I never go through the hassle of hand scrubbing shoes. Most we do is throw them In the wash for the convenience. Ever since hearing the ralli roots slogan “profits not projects” we’ve sort of adopted it and tried to minimize the amount of work each item needs. That being said, if we were much smaller sellers, I for sure would have attempted to clean them more to get an extra $10 out of them haha! Thanks for watchin!
