With the TCR Muffler, it was probably a good 30% louder. Mostly under load above 3k rpm. I didn't get any decibel readings. With stock muffler it was a much smaller difference, slightly louder and some pops and bangs under load. The TCR muffler and a downpipe isn't as loud as a race style catback but can get loud if it is carless and dosent have a resonator like this pipe does.
@@VWTalk that's good to hear. My exhaust is completely stock besides the TCR muffler. I think it sounds damn near perfect, but would like the extra performance with a catted DP.
@@Dunwelll yeah depending on your sound goals and tolerance for drone I’d def consider a catted pipe or catted and resonated pipe. I think the combo with the ultimate racing was pretty good but there is definitely better out there. The trackslag and MAP GESI catted pipes look like they’d be great pairings, at least on paper. Personally I am considering swapping to a decat trackslag and a vibrant resonator. Unfortunately I got rid of the TCR muffler because the value shot up and I wanted to keep the car quieter.
