Maki has a great voice. I am really hoping AEW doesn't screw this up, Maki Itoh could be what they need. Someone to balance out the opposite of Abadon and be a challenge for Hikaru Shida one day. I also would like to see Maki Itoh and Abadon either have a rivalry and/or become a tag team. The possibilities with Maki Itoh are endless...IF AEW does this right.

To be fair, my understanding is that the original plan was to build the women's division around the Japanese talent and a choice selection of U.S. stars. Then covid hit, and it didn't help that Kylie Rae quit and left us with major injuries for Baker and Statlander. I'm definitely still hoping they sign more Japanese talent.

Oh my God she's good! Recently joined Itoh respect army discovering her in AEW tournament and everytime she hits it out of the park. You can't even say she lip syncs because when AEW's audio cut out you literally could hear her singing without the background, it's all her and she's amazing. I hope she signs with AEW for good soon, as well as maybe singing something else epic too.
Cornette is a freakin' genius in the business, but the one enormous flaw that holds him back is his intense hatred for anything that came after the 80's. He hates hardcore wrestling, lucha libre, comedy wrestling, modern day Japanese wrestling, indy promotions, and any match that takes place outside the ring. He is also pretty lukewarm at best on wrestlers who are under 6 feet tall (with a few exceptions), especially if they're main eventers. Oh, and did I mention that he seems to hate damn near half of the wrestlers who are alive today? But he likes New Jack... He claims that people are wrong about him when they say he's stuck in the past, but if you look at everything he hates, it sure as hell seems like he's stuck in the 80's to me! The only thing on that list that didn't come after the 80's is lucha libre, but in that case, he hates it because he didn't experience it growing up.
