Different people are known to have different sleeping patterns, and these differences can happen for many diverse reasons. Even things like nationalities bring out sleeping behaviors that are unlike others. For example, in Spain, they are still supporting the historic tradition of afternoon naps called siestas. The historians believe that this happened back then because the farmers needed a break from working hard in a hot climate, and this habit stuck around. In England, according to the National Sleep Foundation, one-third of the people sleep completely naked! The Scandinavians are known to leave their babies outside in the cold weather because they believe it will make the child's immune system stronger.
Other distinctions between people are also plausible, such as the time when they’re going to bed and waking up. A very well-known distinction in that context is Early Birds vs. Night Owls. Early birds are people that tend to get up earlier and do it with easiness. Their day starts as soon as the sun rises, and they are productive more in the first part of the day. Night owls, on the other hand, are people that absolutely despise early mornings and feel pretty grumpy when they have to wake up at those unholy hours. Their productivity is much higher later in the day or even in the evening.

As a Night Owl, living like an Early Bird sucks.
Less free time, less sleep, more tired, Day feels too long, Less creative, Easily depressed and you get made an outcast because you sleep different hours.
Yes me too its retarded
science: *has evidence we need more sleep*
school: lol no
here's to my fellow night owls who prefer staring at the moon and stars all night rather than getting blinded by the sun!
Agrees with susan. Your solution suggests that anyone different must change. How about society adjusts to encorporate night owls productivity? Trust me this change will result in less health problems and more growth
Exactly! As a night owl for like my entire life I will always be one and I would never prefer my early bird lifestyle
Night owl squad!
Yo 😎
HOOT HOOT
Damn well it's me
2 AM club
Any one else thinking: what's wrong with liking to sleep?
yeah if sleep is SO IMPORTANT, then why do we yell at people for sleeping when they want to? night owl here in a lark home.......guess who is being talked to about their sleeping habits?
watching this at 4am i wanna cry i have tuition tmr morning
lmao i’m in college and stay up until 4am-6am every night and wake up at 11am only if i have class 😂 when i don’t have class i wake up at 2pm-3pm lmao it sucks i wish i was an early bird
Here's how I fixed my sleeping schedule:
1: play relaxing music before bed.
2: stay in a dark room and slowly open and close you're eyes.
3: try relaxing you're body.
@@emilyhuffable then ur probably not a genetic night owl, just became that way in teenage years, im 23 and if i don't have to wake up early my body forces me to sleep at 4-5 am and wake up at 1 pm
@@emilyhuffable i mean eventually after two days of almost no sleep i have to adapt lol but i cant function even if i force myself to have 8-10 sleep hours everyday i just can't function in the morning (btw if i sleep after 2-3 am i usually just have to sleep 6 hours, 8 tops, if i wake up early i need more than 8 hours to not fall asleep all the time)
Why don't "early birds" change
to become "night owls"???
yeah why are WE the night owls always the target? heck in animal crossing new leaf you could set an "ordnance" to be more night centric, where shops opened and closed later, which should be brought back for New Horizons.
i am a night owl, but my brother and mother are both larks, guess who is the one targeted for being lazy?
i like the night, less distractions, and i can think.
@@Kafj302
I don't really mind distractions,
as long as they're the ones
that interest me.
I just find daylight a little
oppressive sometimes,
especially in the summer,
with really BRIGHT days.
Same with too much heat & humidity.
There are even worse situations,
though, for those with the condition
Xeroderma Pigmentosum,
which I discovered after having
seen the film "The Others",
in which the children have this.
I assumed it was
invented for the film,
but I bought the Collector's Edition
& there's a mini-documentary
about those so affected.
Anyhow, the problem seems to be
mainly that night owls
are outnumbered by larks--
in other words, we're a minority,
but not the type that is acknowledged in a way that would accommodate our needs.
Many night people go into a career
involving performing/arts/
entertainment, since that would
seem to offer us the best/most
options. Unfortunately, that doesn't
always work out & there are certainly
worse barriers & obstacles
caused by the plandemic
& the reactions to it.
One of the reasons I wanted
to move to NYC was because
it was known for being flexible
to people with many
different schedules.
That doesn't seem to be
so much the case anymore.
In any case, whatever the location,
night people & their requirements
must be acknowledged.
If it's still active, there is a Facebook
group for us---B-Society.
In looking for it, you need to include
the dash; otherwise, you'll end up
in another group entirely.
Beacuse it's not in our hands. It's in dna.
Okay, it's time to talk about the creepy weird character down there.
😂 haha!
the i am cool but silent part or the i smart af but failing at school part?
Me being a night owl watching this at 5:40 am...I dont get tired until the sun starts to rise so I get in trouble for sleeping all day
Felt 06:19 am and I'm not tired.
My mother admits she refused to sleep train me. As a parent this is a thing you have to do with some babies....I wonder what the science is behind that process. My mother let me be awake at night (barely fed me, ignored me...) and during the day I would sleep and she would brag to her friends that she could take me anywhere because of it. In school I had lots of trouble but she would let me sleep through the weekend to "make up" for it. Basically because it made things easy on her. I don't know if it's possible this is WHY or if she just actually let me "be myself" unless it came to school and/or HER wanting to wake up early on vacations and keep me awake for days (since I couldn't sleep). Several summers through being a teen I would stay up all night until after watching the sunrise. So around 7 am I was going to bed. I would wake up late afternoon. I actually joined the army and would be awake many nights, or have only a nap. Surprising I did as well as I did. The thing is it caught up to me. After the army I went back to similar night owl routines. When I got pregnant I tried to change my sleep but not much luck. Now my child is 10 and I am severely suffering from long-term lack of sleep. Doctors don't care. I have lots of "unexplained" health issues for my age and the doctors just always say my age makes real problems unlikely so they refuse to test me for most things. Q_Q I feel hopeless and a bit resentful tbh. If I stayed a night owl I'd have to pay someone else to watch my kid and I would barely know them. I just want proper sleep.
If your a night owl like this foment!
In this position now, told my roomate to get headphones and blindfold if he doesn’t like it
I do the opposite when I can't sleep.
I use my iPad.
Licorice YT same
I’m probably the only night owl in my house, I fall asleep before everyone else.
After a few days switching to the morning 8-5p shift coming from 2 years of the Swing 3-11p shift, I take 30-45 min power naps in the parking lot as sson as I leave the corporate stronghold. Sometimes these naps come later and I nap out at the Whole Foods parking lot using their WiFi charging myself up before gym time. On the really social jet lagged days, I just commute home and crash out in the driveway for an hour before mustering enough energy to walk in. Such is the life of a night Owl living in an 8-5 world!
I am a night owl and an early bird. I’m go to sleep at 12:00 and I wake up at 4:30/ 5:00 and I’m not tired at all.
Ok 1.im a night owl and I dont think 12 is that high if I'm going to sleep early I fall asleep around 3 earliest I wake up is normally 9.and 2.if I stay up all night with parents who aren't night owls but maybe half early birds but a aunt who is a night owl and a early bird...
8:40 if this is true, then why do i feel extra exhausted the instant the sun comes out and i feel like closing my windows?
Cause your not a night owl....
It’s annoying. Early bird during weekdays, night owl by weekends.
That character is so damn dramatic
this video is mostly watched by night owls.
I’m only 8 and im a night owl and I could stay up till 9 am
Ok
But dont
It's funny my sister is an early bird and I'm a night owl
hmm how interesting. i'm the night owl and my brother is the early bird. interesting how that is, maybe twins were biology sensing that there should always be a guard on duty, so twins. One sleeps while the other is awake.
@@Kafj302 I believe it
I noticed i don't have trouble from being a night owl to an early bird but now feel so fatigued. I was never a morning person but my lifestyle and career changed and had no choice but after a year now I always feel fatigued as an early bird, no matter what especially on days off I just want to rest, not sure why.
During the work week I'm ok i mean i can stay awake till bed time won't do much but still after a meal I'll want to lay down and sometimes would fall asleep.
I drink water through out the day it helps but yeah days off come around I'll take like 1-2 naps when I should be productive I'm 44, I felt this after a year of switching.
i go too bed at about b 8 30 on school days i try to wake up about 6AM but if it is a weekend i go to bed when my body makes me pass out and i usally wake up about 10
Marshall Eiden wow!! I go to bed so late and I wake up early. I physically can’t stay in bed after 7. It actually won’t work. I have never done it.
