- Lea Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos talk the arduous filming and lengthy sex scenes in lesbian romance "Blue is the Warmest Color," which played Telluride after winning the Palme d'Or at Cannes. For the first time Cannes jury president Steven Spielberg asked that a film's two stars be awarded the award along with the director.
"It was not a lesbian movie but a love story" - Adele couldn't have said it better

Blue is the warmest color is like the female version of Brokeback Mountain! So intense, so thoughtful, so real, so human, so unapologizing in its raw portrayals of 'humans' one against the other. They're both not films of 'homosexuality' per se, but about pure, unthinking human love regardless of gender or class. Thank you for this masterpiece!

it is pretty upsetting that the media places a lot of emphasis on the sex scenes between the two brilliant actresses, Adèle and Léa, but it is because of the media that we can see how they put in their most efforts to create an organic, timeless and beautiful art that portrays a very real love story which came in the form of the movie, blue is the warmest color. i was very delighted to see the two actresses expressing their honest and humble views about their movie in this video and i can't help but feel extremely happy and proud of them! it was certainly a mind-blowing experience when i watched the movie and the movie will always tug at my heartstrings!!!

There was so much more to this movie than sex. I watched it out of curiosity, having no idea what I was getting myself into. I felt the relationship was very real. The emphasis on the sex in the movie by all of the people who have interviewed is such a waste of time for these two actresses. They are both exquisite. I am a married woman in my late 30's and felt there was no difference in the anxious hearts of the characters than what I have felt ion my own life. I know, Ive said too much.

What a shame that Lea said that they used tricks in intimate scenes, but the emotions that they offered were real and true. Nice movie and gorgeous interpretation, especially Adèle :)
How is it a shame? They had to use tricks in order for them to feel comfortable in the scene and to keep the filmmaking process professional. Otherwise it would be exploitation of actors.
i love about this movie is like they didn't use so much of a make up.. maybe.. they didn't use so much of a make up.. like a eye liner, sharp colored lipstick, etc. so the inner beauty from them really sprouted out.. like the lea's best movie ever

It’s because Adele is talking about how she trusted the director, but Lea and the director hate each other and she says she felt humiliated by him during the sex scenes. That look was pure knives.

I just watched the movie for the first time. Absolutely incredible. French is the most beautiful language. Yes the story involved two lesbian characters but anyone could relate to the story in some way. Its just a powerful movie.. Wow....

Such an awkward interview (or it might be interviewer that's awkward). Cultural difference is like a giant elephant in the room there. But Lea and Adele are incredibly genuine and pleasant. Altough I feel they're a bit annoyed by the interviewer at certain moments. I find that amusing.

I don't get why this movie is so shocking for Americans to take, when the porn industry makes billions of dollars a year from Americans alone. This is barely soft core and such an incredible plot with great acting from every character. It's relatable, raw and real art at its finest and should be enormously appreciated. We don't even flinch at violence, so that's so weird to me

What really struck me was towards the end of the film when they both realized that there really was no compatibility and the emotions that came from it. They are both incredibly good actors.
The sex scenes were just sex scenes. Special? Yes. However there was way more going on in this film that made it great.
You definitely accomplished a great interview. All your questions were on the mark and appropriately posed evidenced by both of women's interest in giving their answers to you. Well done!

You can easly see that there were some real feeling involved. At least from adele´s side. You can see it in the way she looks at lea. But i´m sure its difficult to shoot some of those scenes without evolving some feelings. I think i would´ve totally fallen for Adele. She´s so gorgeous and seems so pure ♥

This interview was the worst. And it's irritating because they both are speaking english here and the questions they are asked you genuinely see it is making them awkward and uncomfortable. You see it alot in Adele's face. It's sickening. The movie isn't only about sex. Lea you see she tries to brighten the mood by laughing and such but you can still see they are both awkward by the dumb ass questions,

It's crazy, there being so matter of fact about it and I am watching them, tearing up because I am still destroyed by the movie, seeing it 2 days ago. Their performances, the truth of the film, defies all category.

As a professional actor she would presumably say "thank you, but I hope that you enjoyed the film in its entirety" On the other hand if he was sleazy, then she'd hopefully ignore him or pretend not to speak English if he was not French.
Andrew Li ...and Oscar Wilde had a wife called Constance and two sons!... as well as a lover called Lord Alfred Douglas and rent boys too many to mention - and that was in the 19th century! Perhaps Lea and Adele swing both ways for all we know - although it is likelier that they're quite simply extremely good actors who are very secure in their heterosexuality (unlike the majority of male actors who are terrified that 'heaven forbid' anyone should dare suggest that they might be 'light in their loafers')
