Just so you know, the Holosun sight fits directly to the slide without any plates. I have the exact gun & sight. The threaded barrel cover is not that hard to take off. It's the sweetest hand gun I've ever shot.
That base plate you put under the 407k only goes on there to run it with the short screws and no optic. The 407k mounts directly onto the slide that’s why the post on the slide fit perfectly into place with the optic.
what screws did you use? I have same weapon and I noticed if you use the screws provided with the blue coloring on threads, those screws bottom out when attaching the holsun 407k,
I believe it was one of the two sets that came with the 407k. They do get very close to bottoming out but mine didn’t. Blow out the screw holes and make sure you don’t have any shaving or debris inside. It’ll start to get a bit snug towards the end but they should seat all the way.
I got the same one just black blemished and with 10 mags for around 700$ in total and I’m honestly highly impressed with it for now. Just received my red dot but the iron sights are much better than factory Glock and the trigger is too. Would love the 43x as well I’ve got to shoot my buddies a couple of times and it was a close decision between it and the rock
I bought one for my brother for his birthday. Shot it. Immediately ordered one for myself. It's the best 5.7 handgun (unless you have an FN PDW) out there. The magazines hold 24 rounds. I've loaded at least 10 of them with FN ammo: all held 24 rounds. I agree on the AK statement. Heck, I can load my DSA 308 pistol for about the same $. Thing is, it's hard to conceal and AK or FAL under a light jacket. And the 5.7 is a LOT softer and faster to empty the magazine extremely accurately. As far as ammo $, this may be the round that causes me to purchase a reloading set-up. Yes, it can be done. No, it's not difficult. Just different. Cases are good for 4 or 5 reloads at full power. Nice video!
You should definitely check out the shadow systems mr920 elite in my opinion one of the best hand guns for the cost a lot of nice upgrades that make it very nice compared to a standard glock
Personally, I don’t find the slight lock any harder to release than any of my other handguns. IMO, the gun feels very well made. Yes, the slide is relatively easier to manipulate, but it doesn’t feel cheap. The trigger is one of the best triggers out of the box you’ll find on any handgun. If I had to change one thing, I’d probably make the grip texture a tad bit more aggressive, but that’d it.
My first thoughts when I got the gun was that it felt cheap but after taking a second look at the gun while making the unboxing video I completely disagreed with my first impression. I love the trigger and it’s nice having a slide that is easy to manipulate, my slide lock is definitely very hard to release compared to all the glock’s that I own and yes I would love to see a much more aggressive texture but that’s nothing a grip/ stipple can’t fix!!
I've been strongly considering picking this up and I just got a 48 MOS that I could use the 407k on. Did it come with a cover plate for those who dont want to use the optic?
Those mag finish differences make me nervous…. Sig did that with the 365 and the matte mag had initial problems with that gun. Turns out the were made under different contracts. I wonder which mags PSA is gonna send me.
@@beansNguns Ok I will try to remember to come back here and leave comment. I ordered additional single mags in addition to whatever is coming with the 5.7. With the Sig, the shiny mags were MecGars from Italy (and they were awesome), the matte ones were made in USA (and they had follower and burr issues). It seemed that all individually sealed mags were USA made but the mags that came in the early TacPac bundles with the guns were shiny Italian ones. They literally would grab mags randomly to put in the bundles. Some people got a mix of mags with their p365s like you did with the 5.7. I’d assume that PSA would be getting all of their mags here in the states but who knows.
I hope everybody’s PSA customer service experience goes better than mine. The only thing that arrived as ordered… was the Rock. Everything else (ammo, magazines, etc), was screwed up.
And just received another magazine that won’t drop free… this one won’t even budge when the mag release is fully depressed, lol. 3 RMAs required for as many orders. Be sure to check that your magazines drop free! Especially if your Rock is not black.
The 9mm slide has to be heavy to get the round up the feed ramp. The 5.7 round goes straight into the barrel. No need for all that weight. The rock only weighs an ounce more than the dagger
They are suppressor sights used to co-witness (1/3) with the 407k on this gun. Per this bundle. I see no reason why suppressor sights wouldn’t work the same for optics with same footprint
@@YaYa-ke1zr Uhh no, 407k doesn't have the same foot print with the RMR and i said this because the gun come with an adapter plate for the RMR and this adapter plate will make the RMR sit higher. Maybe a tall sight for the Leupold Delta Point Pro can co witness with the RMR?
@@jeremyadams7872 The ones at our shop fit the RMSc footprints just fine. Perhaps you are referring to the full-size RMR print. You will need to know which ‘tall sights’ you are referring to specifically in order to check dimensions.
You had already addressed it but I wanted to comment to help others who may not watch the entire video. All moving parts will need some breaking in, including the slide release.
Strange that a stiff slide is considered a good thing vs an easily manipulated slide. I actually don't 100% love my glock's slide simply because it's so firm. (Not impossibly stiff, but stiffer than most auto-loaders I own.) I know it's not the be all end all, but my glock refuses to cycle rat-shot rounds reliably because the slide is so stiff. Meanwhile, I have an all-steel baby desert eagle with one of the most easily manipulated slides I know of and it cycles anything you put in it, including rat-shot and those dog-shit RIP rounds. The slide release on this gun is definitely stiff, but not to the point where you should need to use two hands/fingers to use it. I haven't been out shooting with mine yet, but I like the way it feels and if it shoots as good as it feels, I'm heavily considering replacing my glock 19 carry with it
Very well presented clip on the PSA 5.7 from Rock Island, the way in which you displayed the firearm as it come from the manufacturer. Very nice pistol for the price only hold back with a purchase such as this would be like you comment is the price per round. if u use the include optic screws you will damage the trigger housing assembly...u need m4 0.7 x 10-mm screws
@@thatick Thank you!
I have been looking at this gun/caliber for a bit and it is starting to intrigue me, thanks for the opinions and review. Definitely a good value.
It’s definitely a great value of a gun! Thank you for the comment 💯
Great video sir!! I pray your channel goes really far! Thank you
PSA has really stepped up their game!! Thank you for the review
They stepped up their game besides customer service lol
I’ve been lucky enough not to have to use their customer service department...Yet.
Great review, I've been looking at the PSA Rock a lot lately
Both my buddies that handed me their rock said the slide release dont work😂 I single handedly activated it multiple times. Up your protein brother

I put on the plate because the screws didn’t work. There was 3 sets of screws and non of them worked if it didn’t have the plate on.
I’ll try it again without the plate
Great review. Just ordered the rock/dagger frame bundle
Keep up the videos man!! You have good info!!
I also have been looking at purchasing a 5.7 ROCK. One for carry, and possibly one in an AR platform.
Finally a good review. Thanks for the content.

I'm very interested in a 5.7 , didn't know palmetto had one out. Smith & Wesson has went out now so I'll be looking at these two
I'm looking at this same setup.
I'd love the PSA Dagger!
Kool psa Rock man love it
It’s a good lucking gun, thank you!
I haven’t met someone that said “my slide is too easy to pull back”.
Also why did you buy it if you can’t afford the ammo?
Good review keep up with the great content
Thank you brotha 💯
Loving the Glock 43x!! Great video, just bought a ROCK just like this one!! Same bundle with the holosun!! Super excited
Has it arrived yet?
This is a great video. The Grey looks bad ass! The smallest pouch is for your box of ammo, 50 count.😉
Love the rock

I’ll try to get one in the channel
Are you reviewing the Glock or the Rock?
Got a dagger for my pops & it looks better than my g19 I was debating on giving him that one 🤣 but I just ordered another one grip is nice nice
Get on ammo seek too 5.7 is .59 rn 30 a box they have 500 ones for for 289 lowest I seen

Waiting on mine to come in. Looks a lil big but not bad for night stand gun.
It’s definitely on the bigger side but it would be perfect for a night stand gun
I conceal carry this everyday!
I just saw this hangun on a video from shot show. checked their web and found to be a great deal.
Just getting into the gun world. That would be cool to get a dagger.👍 definitely subbed.

How do you qualify for the Giveaway?
Bro the slide has different tension on it because of the fact that the 5.7 has significantly less recoil than 9mm

Not much of a Deal breaker considering The slide lock wouldn’t have as much tension with a round in the Mag
Very nice PSA. It sucks cause they don't ship to Ma.

What color and specs did you get?
@@beansNguns The exact model in the review: Gray, threaded barrel and optic.

Thank you 🙏🏼
Gotta love the 43X
