Came for a demo of the alto's timbre, stayed for the brilliant music.
Thank so much, I really appreciate your kind words 😀
Haha, same here, a friend send me the link, because „there are mistakes in the third movement“. Yeah you can see, that also a Peter Steiner is slightly nervous in 1-2 Moments, but come on, it was one of the most beautiful performances i heard of that piece! After the first note you had me, had to watch the whole performance! :D thank you for uploading 😊
@@maxschmidt6034 thank you very much for checking it out 😁 yes, of course I am nervous and make mistakes! 😁
me too hahaha
Playing high is probably one of my favourite things to do on trombone sounds allways soo good.
Playing now for almost 11 years
Holy crap, I've watched this countless times and just can't put into words how amazing your tone on alto is. I've always struggled with my high register sounding effortless on it, but you seem to have it mastered. Amazing job!
Thank you very much, really appreciate your kind words 🙏🏻😀
Can't believe I'm just watching this now. Good Lord - phenomenal! Most impressive to me is the tuning. I find the alto is a beast for tuning so this video just blows me away! Lovely phrasing!
Thanks so much for your kind words 🙏🏻
This almost sounds like a flugelhorn playing. Beautiful!
Thank you 🙏🏻
remembered those sunny summer days in St. Petersburg!🙂
Expressive. Good work.
Must be fun to play this using a tenor, smile.
This is the best thing I've heard in a while
Thank you so much 😊
Bravo Peter!!
Absolutely great performance 👏👏👏 especially bravo to piano player Polina Grigorieva👏👏👏
Mr. Steiner, this is astonishing! Such beautiful tone and flawless playing. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate your kind words 😀
I could hear just how good this would be from the first notes!
My favorite musician! Come on!!!
Che bel suono!
BRAVI MAESTRO 👏👏👏
Unglaublich aber wahr !
Thank You ...
love your sound
Thanks so much!
Fabulous!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Bravo herr steiner guit
Well done, sir. Lovely alto clarity.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻
pure sound😊
🙏🏻😀
This is why I've always wanted to play an alto.
Amazing
Thank you very much 😀
Where do you find the musical inspiration to breathe new life into these standards? There are some really beautiful surprises in interpretation and they make your rendition so refreshing. Really nicely done.
I am simply having a lot of fun digging really deep into the music 😀 And I try not to make them “special” but simply sing! Appreciate your kind words.
@@PeterSteinerOfficial Peter, you do just that "sing" those beautiful melodies on trombone. I want to hear more....
c'est presque une trompette c'est très beau bravo
Interesting to bring the minuet in as the middle movement. Adding the additional melody line into the outer sections around the trio is a little bit of artistic licence that works!
Because the 3 movements were not actually intended to be a Concerto in it’s current form - I thought to switch up the order the way I prefer it 😀
When can I make my playing sound like this😭
THE BEST 🙄
Congratulations ! I wrote 2 trombon concerto edited by IMD Arpèges at Paris
Thanks for watching! Wow, I would love to have a look at the Concertos 😀
@@PeterSteinerOfficial give me your mail to send you my trombon concerto edited by IMD Arpèges at Paris
thanks! Best is: office@steinerpeter.com
What model of alto are you playing on in this performance?
It’s my Thein Old-German Alto 😀
Which version of this piece are you using? Every version that I have seen online hasn't included the Menuetto, and I really want to learn all three movements of this wonderful piece.
I am playing from a hand written version
@@PeterSteinerOfficial Bravo! Keep up the great work Peter! Your "hand written version" gives you a very fresh approach that is very different!
Are you to play something on the Bach alto now? Please?
Nothing planned for right now 😀
@@PeterSteinerOfficial Then I'll guess I'll have te be overly satisfied with your Tenor videos instead. Looking forward!
What mouthpiece do you use on alto?
This is a Griego Alessi mouthpiece
Peter Steiner Is it a 7, 6 1/2, or 5? When I tried out a Shires alto at American Trombone Workshop, the 7C was far more comfortable than the 6 1/2 and 5.
@@sirbowman3158 It actually is a 5. I bought it a long time ago!
Me (a freshman performance major): Dr. Mason when can I play alto?
Dr. Mason (my professor): Junior year
Me: big sad
The wait is worth it 😁 Refine your tenor playing first and then enjoy the Alto!
I guess some of that characteristic style ran in the family! :D
His skill is without question but he rushes some measures .
hopefully he gets a 1 at solo and ensemble
rushing is better than playing to slow. and btw: soloists in classical music are free to do so. the rest has to follow.
Excellent technique and good sound. Not as good as the performance by Branimir Sloker. He is far better. But I enjoyed listening.
Slogar. Haha! He has a tremble sound.
His time is over....
@@hansvdrunen4541 Has your time ever come, anyway? Haha
