There are 2 types of teachers, Direct and Indirect.
The direct teacher is hands on, and challenges you to be the best of the best. When you enter military Boot camp, the drill sergeant isn't your friend. They tell you what you need to do in order to make it through boot camp. Not once do they ask you what your opinion is, they tell you to do 20 pushups. This type of discipline creates a mentality that you are a soldier and they are your leader, they guide you and make you stronger.
The indirect teacher is what you find at schools. They answer your questions, they give you helpful advice. They try to be as reassuring as possible and build a trusting relationship. But at the same time, the onus is one the student to come to the teacher. Because the teacher is hands off, they don't push you, they don't get in your face and tell you are are wrong. They try to let you build up confidence slowly and realize better ways to do it.
different teaching styles work for different people. I can tell that Lisa had the military background from her videos. Also when it comes to dancing, Lisa is super serious!!!! Jenny comes from a independent study program in New Zealand, she was allowed to choose what extra-curricular activities she wanted to pursue. She had alot of freedom while learning.
You can see different idol coaches use different approaches. Soyeun is similar to Lisa, while other idols are similar to Jennie.

Lisa is a dancer first and foremost she has trained incredibly hard. All dancers have to train what is known as the muscle memory. Muscle memory is a form of procedural memory that involves consolidating a specific motor task into memory through repetition, which has been used synonymously with motor learning. While attempting the new dance move in class, sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. But every single time you attempt that new dance move, your body is able to detect exactly how it is moving and over time, it learns that you are able to execute the movement well when you move in a certain way or direction. It basically knows your next move which is why LISA is so good at dancing. Some of the finest dancers in what ever medium it is have mastered this technique. Successful dancers who say are on tour with an artist or the artist themselves who have not mastered it come across as clumsy. Their not they can still dance which is where the saying there are dancers and then their are DANCERS. Jennie is to regimental for me but I think all SK people are like this so I don't find it unusual
