When, after hearing Ellie's story, the female reporter asks if she "firmly" discouraged the man from following her, Ellie was far too polite. A simple "no" should be enough. If the reporter was asking on the viewers' behalf, she should have prefaced her statement with that fact.
That’s exactly what I thought! What kind of question is that??? Firmly enough?? We shouldn’t have to shout to be listen! No should mean no, end of story.
I think it’s wild that the closing comments were about how women should be safer and not about how to hold predictors accountable, how to not be a predator, or how to lookout for a potential victim. It’s not just men, our society allows this behavior to exist. We all can be better bystanders.
