There are also couple other ways like, - Upgrading your own car in the car meet mechanic shop - Taking your own car to the race track - Test driving one of the test rides - Purchasing items at the car meet clothing store

Dont know far the progress is at this moment, but theres a guide to the Contracts (in the Autoshop) on the GTA Grinders Subreddit, that shares some minor tips that can easily save like a couple mins per contract. Sadly I cant link it but it should be relatively easy to find. With the guide all of them are doable in around 10-15 minutes. In the Prisonbreak for example you can basically skip almost the entire Lil D setup by just going to the police station directly.
If someone else has the issue with Auto Shop cars not spawning or spawning very rarely: It is likely caused by 2 mechanics you hire. The solution I found for myself is to trade-in current Auto Shop for another one and NOT purchse mehcanics anymore. If you wish to keep your old Auto Shop location you would have to trade it once more. In that case dont waste money on any upgrades the first time you trade it, and obviously DONT purchase mechanics there either.
If you get a far location for the sessanta vehicles you can blow them up and they'll respawn in the auto shop, I always do that to get closer locations.

The caches spawn in the same points in the the general area it gives you. Like 5 locations that it can spawn in that general area.
