I own non of them. But the sound of that VOX was what i was looking for for years! Simply professional especially with the clean sound. Thanks for great review!
I'm absolutely a Line 6 fan. Have been since the first Spider release ages ago. I love their tube heads and combos. But a solid state is a great quality sound processing method for a smart budget.
I love Vox amps. I have an AC15C1 and have owned the VT40+, VT80+ (twice). I also have owned the Spider IV 15, a Spider IV 75, a Line 6 Bogner, and now own a Spider Jam. I prefer the VOX valvetronix, but to be honest have been quite surprised with the clean tones from the Line 6 Spider Jam. I love hte extras it brings, too....not sure if I"ll keep it long term, but I'm digging it. Way nicer than the 15 watter. I think the 12" speaker really brings out the tones in the Line 6. To know which is better, check the used market. I just looked this morning for any used Valvetronix Amps by Vox online. You don't find any with a 12" speaker for sale used. People keep them. However, you'll find a ton of Line 6 amps used everywhere you look. I think it's becuase when people play the Vox they find out how amazing they truly are. Nothing against Line 6. I see them as being for two different styles of play and markets, really.
I realize I'm pretty late to the party, but I have a couple of huge problems with this comparison. Firstly, the presets on a line6 INCLUDE the EQ pots as digital presets. Meaning - unless you adjust them after you switch presets - you're not actually getting a flat EQ - not even a little bit. I'm not sure about the VOX presets. But it's unlikely that they're also flat by default. Having been a professional sound engineer most of my life - and owning a Spider IV/15 I can dell you that it can, and does sound MUCH different than the one in this video. Granted it doesn't have the diversity or excellent jazz/blues feel of a vox, but it's not hard to hear that the EQ wasn't really flat in this video for either of them. Secondly - two different microphones focused on different parts of the speaker makes a giant difference as well. A much better way to do this would have been the same mic moved between them and focused on exactly the same place at the same angle. That is literally the ONLY way to know for certain that all variables have been eliminated outside the amps themselves.
I actually own both of these amps but I have never tried a head-to-head comparison. Seems to me that the VOX blows the Line6 away. I'm surprised at the difference in presence and clarity.
VOX is made for clean playing. They don't have the technique of mastering the muddy, dirty overdrive or distortion. Imo, Line 6 steps in there. Each brand is great at something and horrible at something else.
MrDavee1 wrong its obvious you know nothing about the line6 Spider IV 75 Watt Amp that comes stock with a 1X12 Celestion speaker..when this Amp was released in 2009 it was considered high end because of the technology that was in it...same with the Marshall MG 100FX And the VOX ValveTronix..these 3 Amps alone matches up with any Tube amp..even better because their much more reliable than any Tube Amp..the past 20 years the technology with Solid State Amps is incredible..they do it all..no need anymore for just tube Amps..the Solid State is remarkable..
The Line6 Spider amps just plain and simple suck. They do start to sound better the larger you go; when you start getting into the twin combo and stacks, they get fairly usable. But by that point, your money would be much better spent elsewhere anyway. As for those smaller practice-size combo's, absolute rubbish. IMO the Fender Mustangs aren't that much better, though for some reason they have a lot of fans. The Vox Valvetronix range are miles better in comparison, and are genuinely really good sounding amps (for what they are). As per the video, the difference is night and day. Honestly can't think of any scenario where one could possibly recommend a Line6 Spider over a Vox Valvetronix.
Call me crazy but I like the fuzz coming from the line 6 gain channel. It sounds like something Hendrix would have done with his guitar back in the 1960s. The line 6 is not a perfect amp by any means but that is precisely why it is so good. It has that raw dirty sound.
I got one in a trade and they aren't terrible. They make the best sounds when you go outside the presets, but you got to work to find good tones out of this thing. Overall, not a bad little practice amp, but for full price there are better alternatives.
Vox a clear winner here. Much warmer sounds in clean and Rock settings. Not sure of metal settings. I'm not a metal fan but from other reviews you should give the Roland cube a try if you are a high gain fan.
I swapped out the oem speaker in my vox for a ceramic Warehouse speaker and now it does high gain and metal as well as clean, the stock speaker was okay for boutique cl, blackface 2x12, tweed 4x10, ac15, and ac30tb, but with the marshalls, mesa, soldano, and boutique od it was too fizzy, the new speaker fixed all of that. It is louder, fuller, way better priced than the alnico speakers I was looking at, and able to cover a much broader spectrum of tones than anything else out there. Cheers.
I bought a Vox VT20+ today (used) and examined the Ruby 12AX7 valve and it works extremely well. It has plenty of head room and very versatile with touch sensitive playing dynamics. Best $70 bucks I’ve spent on an amp.
The Vox is fun for making weird sounds and messing around i love it just got one today played with it for 3 hours at guitar center before i finally just stood up picked the amp up and walked to the counter Xd! I love it!! Of course there are amps wayy better but for someone that likes playing different sounds styles and creating, this amp is for you.
been playing Vox vt 30 for years and have had no prob, changed the tube to a better one and it really was a big impruvement....specally with humbukers....
hello bradney, ı m going to buy a amp from vox vt series but ım confused for ı thınk please help me. 4 years ago you used that amp ı hope you remember.d Some of bad comments for vt series are "day by day tones are going to be similar" i think they talking about first pots tones. did this happen?
I like my VT20+ because I like the vintage English warmth, but swapped out the original "Ruby" valve for a JJ gives it a little bit extra warmth and seems to have nicer clean to a nice rich crunch just by changing the guitar volume and the way I play. I also have the stomp pedal box to change between presets, havent really used it much, but still glad I bought it.
I own a 75 watt Line 6 Spider, and honestly, I'm pretty sure the Vox amp is better after playing my friend's amp yesterday. The clean channel is superior, and you can get a good distortion sound from it if you know what you're doing. I didn't think the metal amp modeling channels sounded good, but the pedal distortion sounds were much better. I put the Vox amp on the US blues amp channel and boosted it up with its distortion pedal effects and it sounded killer. To give a fair opinion though, I do like the Line 6 sound more for lead guitar. The larger amps aren't super muddy like the 15 watt amp in this video, but it has a deeper distortion sound than the Vox amp, which I much prefer for playing guitar solos.
Sounds to me, like the Line 6 is nails on a chalk board. While the Vox, sounds like a tube amp with modeling. I can talk to. I own a Line 6 Flextone II (best of the bunch), Vox VT20+ and a Line 6 Spider III 75W. Biggest POS? By far, the Spider. They remind me of something that should be sold at Toys R Us. They we're made for people too stupid to read the manual for the POD and/or Flextone and needed someone to hold their hand. The Vox is far more flexible. More amp models, effects, presets, save positions, etc. And... it's a Vox. Finally 12AX7 versus... uhm, not. Game over.
I have the line 6(5 years and still runs strong)... anyways. the clean tone on the line 6 sucks, it always has. but the distortion on it is amazing! and play more distorted music so that's my take on that. line 6 is also really affordable
Late to the party, but... VT40+ owner here. Never owned another 'decent' other than this. I think all modelling amps are amazing, and you can dial pretty much any tone you want. I don't think the 'crunch' setting on one amp = 'crunch' setting on another, for example. Which ever your amp of choice, once you get to know it, you can make it sing, be it metal, blues, rock, clean, whatever.
VOX is superior in clean. In distortion or overdrive, Line 6 masters that department however. Each brand has a specialty and VOX has a horrible sound for dist./OD. But, VOX is for blues, standard rock and other great clean demanding styles of music.
The Spider sounds better balanced to me...sure...the Vox has that special "Vox top boost" going for it but I think I could live with the Spider as an all arounder...the Vox tone is not for everyday use IMO.
I am a fan of Vox sound, the first Vox I had was VT40X, the second I got VT100X, both work, I have not been disappointed even once. Excellent combos, especially VT100X, what you need!
The Vox is streets ahead, and if the argument is that it isn't as good for metal, well the cheapest pedals you can get are distortion/overdrive - you can get a really good one for less than €40. A pedal with the Vox will obliterate the Line 6. Getting the Line 6 for metal is extremely short - sighted approach. You might not be into metal in a few years time...
I just got a Line 6 15 watt III just for laughs, well, it already sounds MUDDY out of the box, no matter what, so I'm not thrilled. I also have the newer Vox vX50 GTV amp, and there's no comparison, the Vox VX50 is a REAL amp (even with some weird fizzing on the FX section sometimes) and has tons of power, and sounds clear and crisp and non-muddy. The Line 6, wheww not so much. Ah well. Maybe the Line 6 will be good for my 12-string but I dunno. (on Clean). If not, I'm dumping a bunch of my small amps and buying the Vox Valvetronix older 40 watt version and that's it. I love Vox, they sound goddamned phenomenal even though they are sometimes quirky or finicky amps.
@@thiscorrosion900 The line 6 menu sounds much better than metal vox. I'm considering giving more money for a vox amplifier but realistically vox has a much worse tone for metal! At least that's how it sounds on the recording, I don't know how it is live.
@@milospavic I ended up buying a Line 6 15 watter and it's a good amp, I"m not thrilled with the built-in FX that much, though, hard to turn off and mix them up, not sure why. I liked it for clean sound and high gain, of course. I still love my Vox VX50 more, the modeling is better and the options are greater, and the tone is better. But of course the VX50 is a 50 watt tube amp.
@@thiscorrosion900 I am interested in either Line 6 or Vox Valvetronix AD15VT This vox has a lamp in it. But I'm not sure it's a good choice for metal music.
@@milospavic I agree. I was told by some metal pros that a Peavey Vypr, Marshall or maybe a Mesa would be better choices for metal. Gotta have tons of high gain channels. Also Blackstar.
For home use only for playing hardcore , punk rock and reggae would the vox be the best choise?! can I plug another and more powerfull amp in line on the vox for live and band jamming on concerts and lousy pubs?!
Line 6 is better for high gain channels but Vox valvetronix sounds a little more like a tube amp. I like all tube amps instead, but I found very interesting this comparisson; could you make a comparisson between the Line 6 and the Fender Mustang?
***** Thank you, I would also found interesting to watch a comparisson between a Vox AC4C1, a Fender Pro Junior, a Blackstar HT-1R and a Marshall DSL5C! ;)
that little vox kicked butt when i used one, i have a blackstar ht-5 now, its better, but i have to scrape money together to buy pedals, so if you are poor or can't get tonnes of pedals quickly, buy the vox over the line 6, but in honesty, I recommend the blackstar id core, or the roland cube, size and wattage needs may vary
Depends on what youre looking for i guess . Id judge perosnally by which one has the heaviest crunchiest distortion. Clean comes easy on any amp but not all have powerful distortion
you can play it at whatever volume you like. that's why you have separate volume, master volume, and power level settings. you can drive the tube to the max and still maintain a low level.
This is the android IOS debate all over again... You love some things over another... Cool... But when you say- 'my preferences are superior to yours, and my opinions are absolute' you have a problem... He likes line6, so what's your problem? You love the vox, he didn't have a problem... Damn... Peep like this still exist... Shame...
Do they still make these? I live here in the US and I can't seem to find the 120s anywhere so I got a 40 still awesome , but after a while of looking again I could hardly even find any 40s
+SPAM Really a matter of personal preference and what style you're going for. If you want some classic, very clean tones, then the Vox is a great option, and is relatively versatile with some good overdriven tones plus some cool features to muck around and experiment with.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I was actually thinking about getting either the Line 6 or the Fender Champion 40, then i heard about the Vox, so between those two I'm pretty sold on the Vox, but what about the Champion? Any opinions?
One week ago I went buying a new amp and checked the Champion and the Vox and I got the Vox, IMHO it's more versatile. Better cleans, nice mods, it was a really good purchase.
I just picked up that line 6 at the local thrift store down the street to abuse it. I’d say that’s the trick to getting the most out of it... just push it past it’s limits like a fun, tiny, battered cheap car that nobody wants to ride sidekick with ya in or even be seen with. It’s just too flat/clean when treated “kindly”
Yes, but not all at once. You got two selectors, each chooses one of the effects from its bank. The first one has effects like compressor, treble boost, some distortions, acoustic etc. Second one has phaser, flanger, chorus... so you can’t choose two effects from let’s say second bank, just one of them. There is however effect that is chorus + delay, so you can have them together, as well as one or the other. The third effect you can choose on top of all that is reverb, and this has three possible settings (spring, hall and room)
+Silas Sell line 6 practice amps suck. Not sure about their bigger stuff, but Vox is great. Alot of sound to get out of it. yes it can do metal pretty amazingly too I might add. Vox ad50vt is what I have.
I had a Spyder 4 like that and found to use the clean channel i had to crank the volume way up to get any sound. I got it used so is that a normal thing with them?
+larsheuker nope passive I sold it to a buddy he doesn't use clean that much anyways but i found the amp itself not to my liking very artificial sounding. Any of you shopping around I would recommend blackstar id corn or id tvp or the yamaha thr10 which the last two might be out of your budget range but instead of the other amps all pushing for most features for the lowest price the tvp and thr10 are quality sound for a bit more. Threw my search of used amps blackstar and orange amps were the most rare to find meaning people dont get rid of them once they have them. Hope this helps anyone looking for a practice amp good luck and rock on.
I'd say it depends what kind of sound one prefers. Personally, I like both of them. Actually played the line 6 one very often. Also one should consider that the vox amp's price is like twice the price of the line 6 one.
Emanuel Sadowski Geghardyanc Thanks for the comment! They are both definitely worth looking into, and both have some different uses. However the Vox is not twice the price. There's only about AUD$50 difference in the retail pricing...
i got the vox vt20+ and love the sound, just two questions if someone can maybe help, 1) i see its got acoustic/does that mean i can play an acoustic guitar through it, 2) i want to get a better speaker for it, i was thinking a celestion vintage 30 or emnance DV77, is that even possible? I know ide have to build a bigger box for that speaker ( i was under the impression that my speaker ohm could be the bigger one so then if my amp is 4 ohm and my speaker 8 then its ok but the other way around is a no no, is this a shit idea- please don't comment if you don't really know
Its kinda annoying when the reviewers go to the gain channel and not play any palm muted riffs so let me tell u something about the vox i own vt20+ .i have no experience with line 6 but my taste is generally the more brutal stuff specially hardcore like(knocked loose, varials, boundaries, vein etc) i gotta say man u can actually get those modern heavy chugg tones from the vox and i can capture a very similar tone to the bands i mentioned with using only the effects on the amo itself. Im also using emg pickups so thats a big reason too but the amo sounds mean as fuck u can play breakdowns on it all day long and theres just so many things u can do with the tone..i play in drop tunings mostly (drop D,C and dropB) they sound really good…hope this helps cuz i know that feelin where u lookin for that one comment that says about how it plays when it comes to modern metal so im more than happy if this helps in any way…oh and by the way it can DJENT!!
I have a VT-120+, and it rips pretty good, plus I like the adjustable power level. The aux plug is nice too for playing backing tracks or music, and playing my guitar on top of it. I got it for like 250 bucks in 2018, thru private sale. I love it. Recently replaced the AX7 tube, Its a 2-in-1 one tube and half of it fried. But it works great again. Hope to have it for awhile!
@@frenchfrysz6695 yeah man it’s surprising to me how an old model can sounds narly and fat in high gain u can easily play palm muted chords on it with it sounding chunk and hearing what you are playing
On the clean Channel it is really subjective. I like that Tinny Clean sound that line 6 has on their cleans. but usually i crank the bass to almost max, mids to the point it is almost non existent decent amount of treble and reverb (dem reverb and not to mention no drive at all) and boom, theres my gorgeous clean tone. but on the highs, the Line 6 clips hell a lot compared to the vox (on this video). some people likes the warmer Cleans that the vox have but i like more to a tinny cleans and bass heavy.
It does have autowah and octave (among many others, like compressor, reverb, noise suppressor, phaser, flanger, vibe, chorus, tremolo, and so forth) built right in.
@@jkelly_ is it really? Or is it cause you can't hide how terrible you really are without "Insane" distortion. Maybe you can't even listen to yourself on clean.....cause you suck. Even metal plays clean, bro.
i play blues; for my ears , vox brighter trebles are powerful. On gain : hands down , vox beat the shit out of line6 on gain. But the silver lining is you will have better result with line6 if u are playing metalish tones with humbucker installed guitars. for blues i got to say vox.
José Aquino the vox sounds brighter and has more clarity in all the clean demos. Maybe your headphones or maybe you were listening through a phone speaker.
The Line6 IV had gotten great reviews by professional guitarist I actually like it myself I can only speak for the Line6 IV 75 watt can't speak for the others before it
If people payed as much attention to their playing as they pay to their tone - the world would end up with a lot more great guitar players!
The Vox wins in every department, it's just simply the better amp.
Well, that made my decision easy (Vox). A big thanks for making the video (and to Better Music for letting him do it in your store)!
It makes a great change to hear the clean tones on both amps and not just mental distortion, cheers.
I really love the Vox tone on most of their amps. Their tone seems to be very warm and vibrant on everyone I play!
And usually not muddy. I can't even listen to a muddy amp.
I own non of them.

The octave effect on that Vox at 9:48 sounds like the bass used on old Sega Genesis games. In other words, great.

The Spider sounds better balanced to me...sure...the Vox has that special "Vox top boost" going for it but I think I could live with the Spider as an all arounder...the Vox tone is not for everyday use IMO.
I got the vox vt30 with the 1×10 and I like it alot!
I have the same practice amp (line 6 spider), and I use the Crunch channel for clean, which sounds 10000 times better than the clean channel itself.
the vox sounds so much better, I'm actually going to pick this up next week.. really impressed with it for an inexpensive amp
I am a fan of Vox sound, the first Vox I had was VT40X, the second I got VT100X, both work, I have not been disappointed even once. Excellent combos, especially VT100X, what you need!
How long have you had them, I am researching their reliability.
I also have the newer Vox vX50 GTV amp,
and there's no comparison, the Vox VX50 is a REAL amp (even with some weird fizzing on the FX section sometimes) and has tons of power, and sounds clear and crisp
and non-muddy. The Line 6, wheww not so much. Ah well. Maybe the Line 6 will be good for my 12-string but I dunno. (on Clean). If not, I'm dumping a bunch of my small
amps and buying the Vox Valvetronix older 40 watt version and that's it. I love Vox, they sound goddamned phenomenal even though they are sometimes quirky or
finicky amps.
@@thiscorrosion900 I am interested in either Line 6 or Vox Valvetronix AD15VT
This vox has a lamp in it.
But I'm not sure it's a good choice for metal music.
@@milospavic I agree. I was told by some metal pros that a Peavey Vypr, Marshall or maybe a Mesa would be better choices for metal. Gotta have tons of high gain channels. Also Blackstar.
The line 6 one definitely helped me make my playing very tight and sharp, trying to avoid the fuzz lol
Vox.. clean clear winner...Brings out the glassy spank of the Strat..The Octave is funky great to mess with. Great demo Thank You !
3:39 is that Slow Dancing In A Burning Room by John Mayer? By the way, great video, really liked the Vox!
***** Thank you, I would also found interesting to watch a comparisson between a Vox AC4C1, a Fender Pro Junior, a Blackstar HT-1R and a Marshall DSL5C! ;)
I have the VOX VT40+ and I love it, but I gotta say that Line6 sounds pretty damn good.
the bluesy stuff sounded so much nicer on the Vox amp
love your style.very relaxing and pleasing to the ear
ah man .. i would be so thankful for all the settings (not those with effects) which you have on the VOX
that little vox kicked butt when i used one, i have a blackstar ht-5 now, its better, but i have to scrape money together to buy pedals, so if you are poor or can't get tonnes of pedals quickly, buy the vox over the line 6, but in honesty, I recommend the blackstar id core, or the roland cube, size and wattage needs may vary
Boss Katana is better than either of the lines you mentioned!
Depends on what youre looking for i guess . Id judge perosnally by which one has the heaviest crunchiest distortion. Clean comes easy on any amp but not all have powerful distortion
Would the Vox be too loud for bedroom playing? (my family is bothered by too much noise)
Brian Rossman headphones, bro. get a solid pair of over ear phones and enjoy some 2am jam sessions without waking up the whole house.
you can play it at whatever volume you like. that's why you have separate volume, master volume, and power level settings. you can drive the tube to the max and still maintain a low level.
Vox hands down!! No competition from line 6 spider not in the same league
Great amp comparison video
It about opinion, i like the line 6 a lot better and people hate on it a lot, i think it depends on what u want to play
@the goat no wonder why your profile name is "the Goat"
This is the android IOS debate all over again... You love some things over another... Cool... But when you say- 'my preferences are superior to yours, and my opinions are absolute' you have a problem... He likes line6, so what's your problem? You love the vox, he didn't have a problem... Damn... Peep like this still exist... Shame...
Do they still make these? I live here in the US and I can't seem to find the 120s anywhere so I got a 40 still awesome , but after a while of looking again I could hardly even find any 40s
EQ is not the same
I prefer Vox, but I respect other people's opinion who prefer Line 6
thinking of getting the vox as my first amp, would you recommend this or is their something even better than this.
+SPAM Really a matter of personal preference and what style you're going for. If you want some classic, very clean tones, then the Vox is a great option, and is relatively versatile with some good overdriven tones plus some cool features to muck around and experiment with.
***** cheers m8 thanks for the reply!
I bought thr vt40+ for first amp and IT IS A MAGIC AMP.So many effects very good sound and loud sound.
Konstantinos Makridis yea i got the vt20 pretty good too
Patrick Petrie they're good practice amps for the money but... they're far from the best combos around.
Nice playing!
I did like the spider on bridge with distortion. Both sound good actually.
What headphones 🎧 can I use with the line 6?
Line 6 is beautiful sound 💖🎶
I love the Vox but the line 6 is more cheaper, If you can afford a Vox Valvetronix is the best choice. And I want that seat
I still like Line 6 better I don’t play blues but Line 6 sounds super good for metal. I also got it for 75 bucks.
You've got a good deal, but the vox is the better amp.
Is this vox amp enough for small gigs?
Can the vox play multiple effects at once like delay chorus and delay?
Yes, but not all at once. You got two selectors, each chooses one of the effects from its bank. The first one has effects like compressor, treble boost, some distortions, acoustic etc. Second one has phaser, flanger, chorus... so you can’t choose two effects from let’s say second bank, just one of them. There is however effect that is chorus + delay, so you can have them together, as well as one or the other. The third effect you can choose on top of all that is reverb, and this has three possible settings (spring, hall and room)
The vox sounds way too twangy for me...glad I chose the dpider.
*spider
Patrick Petrie I don't get why you all hate the line 6 so much. It's great for me, and best amp I''ve had for the price.
+Silas Sell grow some ears?
+Silas Sell line 6 practice amps suck. Not sure about their bigger stuff, but Vox is great. Alot of sound to get out of it. yes it can do metal pretty amazingly too I might add. Vox ad50vt is what I have.
Douglas Spriggs Everyone for themselves I guess. I'm sure the vox is fine, I just don't prefer it.
I had a Spyder 4 like that and found to use the clean channel i had to crank the volume way up to get any sound. I got it used so is that a normal thing with them?
no thats not normal, if you used active pickups your batteries are empty. otherwise. its the amp itself
***** Are you sure? Because when I looked it up the line 6 amp was about 90-99€ while the vox amp was 175-199€
Well, I can't say for wherever you are located, but here in Australia they are $299 and $269 retail.
i got the vox vt20+ and love the sound, just two questions if someone can maybe help, 1) i see its got acoustic/does that mean i can play an acoustic guitar through it, 2) i want to get a better speaker for it, i was thinking a celestion vintage 30 or emnance DV77, is that even possible? I know ide have to build a bigger box for that speaker ( i was under the impression that my speaker ohm could be the bigger one so then if my amp is 4 ohm and my speaker 8 then its ok but the other way around is a no no, is this a shit idea- please don't comment if you don't really know
When I have the VOX one and I have channelswitching pedal plugged in,can I plug in more pedals?
+KSek87 thank you very much,friend!:)
What setting did he have the Vox on clean??
Vox sounds awesome!
what is the chord played at 7:24?
On the clean Channel it is really subjective. I like that Tinny Clean sound that line 6 has on their cleans. but usually i crank the bass to almost max, mids to the point it is almost non existent decent amount of treble and reverb (dem reverb and not to mention no drive at all) and boom, theres my gorgeous clean tone. but on the highs, the Line 6 clips hell a lot compared to the vox (on this video). some people likes the warmer Cleans that the vox have but i like more to a tinny cleans and bass heavy.
6:10 what tune is that? It sounds like Jimi Hendrix but I can't quite put my finger on it
Castles made of sand..
@@osrsmusicman9992 its castles made of sand..
Someone tell me Which ampli is better for metal???
VOX has an autowah effect built in ? I looked up the specs but it didnt have auto wah or wah
It does have autowah and octave (among many others, like compressor, reverb, noise suppressor, phaser, flanger, vibe, chorus, tremolo, and so forth) built right in.
damn vox sounds much better than my spider in clean sound ._.
vox is blues kind of amp
owning and playing on both of them relatively regularly, I will say the Vox sounds much better in anything
*CLEAR COUND IS FOR PUSSYES*
@@jkelly_ cool story bro. Have fun with your muffled sounds. The rest of us will stick with our 'clear' sounds.
@@jkelly_ is it really? Or is it cause you can't hide how terrible you really are without "Insane" distortion. Maybe you can't even listen to yourself on clean.....cause you suck. Even metal plays clean, bro.
Line 6 isnt a bad amp you have to tweak it really much until you have good sound. The presets basically all suck. How did that happen guys from line6?
Anybody here has tried the vox mini 5 rythm? I like the built in rythm box but worry about the quality of tones and effects. Thanks!
hi. can someone please tell me what settings please on a spider 4 line 6 amp and so my electric guitar sounds acoustic? thanks
i play blues; for my ears , vox brighter trebles are powerful. On gain : hands down , vox beat the shit out of line6 on gain. But the silver lining is you will have better result with line6 if u are playing metalish tones with humbucker installed guitars. for blues i got to say vox.
Ouch, at 3:40, it hardly sounds like a strat - way better with the vox a moment later.
I've owned both & Line6 was Horrible to say the least. That little 12×7 tube & The choices of Amp Models are Spot on.Beam me Up Vox
+Warwick Smiley From what I heard, the clean channels of the Line6 sounds more like to my taste but the hi-gain channels of Vox sound better to me
Both are Fantastic..
Do you have to have the foot switch to use it?
+Max Watson No, it isn't a necessity, but it will help with some of the features in the amp.
The Fender sounds like ASS! :)
I see what you did there. Haha!!
No competition from where I'm sitting. The VOX is richer & warmer. But I have a AC30VR & a 50VT so I'm used to them.
can i put a boss me 70 into the footswitch
Why does the Vox sounds so muddy when playing clean and the Line 6 so muddy when playing OD?
José Aquino the vox sounds brighter and has more clarity in all the clean demos. Maybe your headphones or maybe you were listening through a phone speaker.
The Line6 IV had gotten great reviews by professional guitarist I actually like it myself I can only speak for the Line6 IV 75 watt can't speak for the others before it
i think VOX is better and have smooth sound
