I assume this is the same dude on Instagram I just messaged, but I usually keep them in their ‘up’ position until I have the three bolts and one nut/stud lined up and begin threading; a little awkward with how the mounts are able to swivel around and such but usually havent had too much trouble after some good wiggling and finesse- then I actuate the orange buttons to fold the seats down for better access to the lower/front bolt and stud.
I use a plastic trim removal tool or just am gentle with a screwdriver- prying from underneath either pieces, or top of the front peice. The two pieces snap into each other and to the hinge under the seat. Play with it a little and you’ll figure it out; just try to use a tool for popping them out- my first attempt with just my fingers got me cut.
You dont, once you take the nut off the stud and the other 14mm bolts, it’s free. The stud is just used for alignment ahead of reinstalling the 14mm bolts.
I did after this, yeah. I'm 5'10, so basically 6ft tall and fit comfortably. Would recommend good padding or a full on futon or air mattress and possible something to level the floor near the middle row footwells, but nonetheless I slept in it and am still here and satisfied.
I’d always take the front wheel off of my road bike, fold the middle seats up, and use the crease of the seat pads to hold my brake levers and this hold the bike in place. SUV for bike storage is nice.
Thanks much for this contribution. I haven't came across this info else where yet and about to do just that clear out back of my GX 470.
Thank you! Going camping this weekend in the gx :D
Loved the running shot! Great video!
I just wish it was for each time he went back and forth and for the sign off.

THANK YOU... My stupid owners manual was not detail how to fold the middle seats. Now thanks to you, I know. Thank you! lol

How easy are they to put back in?
Thanks for the help on this. Quick and to the point. By the way is that a shark nose I see in the driveway?
Glad it helped. Haha and good eye, friends ‘86 635csi indeed.
I'm having trouble putting the seats back on..the side with the orange push lever seems to be stuck on both seats. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

How do you remove the plastic covers?

Do you sleep in the back of yours?

Time to go camping! Or in my case, get my bike off of the Thule rack and inside where it’s safer.

Why not tell us the size of the bolt? 14mm? 15mm? Would only add a few seconds, but, be a really thoughtful thing to do.
Yeah sorry I missed that, will see if I can update the video- theyre all 14mm
Hey, don’t you think a minute long video is too long? 🙄
