Teachers would constantly sort classes by singing groups, forcing me to choose one and slowly get out of practice of the other. Anna's covers have helped me realize how to be both! In recent couple years I figured out how to do mostly in my higher range and my lower range is now out of practice and this channel has been really helpful about figuring out how I can do both and find the balance.
Altos gain their power by drinking the tears of the sopranos whose solos they stole lmao those POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS. It took me years, but it seems like alto singers are finally getting more popular, especially with the revival of some older styles of music. Florence Welch is my goals.

I just discovered your channel and listened to a few songs. I always thought Babooshka is a pretty nice song and that's pretty all to me. But your interpetation of it... I feel it. I can't describe or understand what's going on in my head. I have tears in my eyes and I don't even know why. I'm confused but... I want more.
Tbh usually I only watch covers of songs I already know, but I decided to take a chance and was not disappointed!!! Great job Anna!! (Also AW KITTIES!!)
Ahhh! It's interesting hearing this version!!! I was addicted to the original as a kid, and I used the song as one of my vocal pieces during A-Level, so hearing this iteration is really interesting! Like, not only is your voice absolutely beauteous, but the way you phrase it makes me feel like the original meaning is there, but the angle has gained a little more sharpness, like both characters are bitter, not just the wife, and the ending was a lot more tragic than "Hubby finds out Babooska was something made up by his Wife to test him before actually meeting "Babooshka"". I'm now going to put this on loop until I've dried Every Drop of Serotonin from it, LOL. Thanks! ^w^ (also it's funny because whenever I sing/sang it, because of how little-kid me interpreted it, I was always lighter on some parts of the lyrics, to make parts like "when she was beautiful" and so on: like the wife sets up this entire thing, sour over not being able to have what they had before, only for the husband at the end to not be horrified, but to actually be like "but you're still that young self [babooska]" as he finally gets to see how much pain his wife is in, compared to the quiet rage she'd slowly grown to have...)
I’ve been binging all your covers recently (a friend recommended me to you since I’m doing Arabian Nights as my audition song next year for a production, really enjoyed “Prince Ali”, and “Poor Unfortunate Souls” as well!), and I think you’d do amazing with “That’s How You Know” From Enchanted, since you have such an enchanting voice! Your voice range is very impressive, and you are such a big inspiration to me. Thank you so much for making all of these and possibly taking my comment into consideration!
Which production are you doing? Depending on mine for spring, I'm doing Sweet Child, Poor Unfortunate Souls, Kiss the Girl (The little Mermaid), Mother Knows Best (Tangled), or something from Aladdin, probably a good cut of High Adventure, These Palace Walls, or Prince Ali Reprise. (Sorry for the long list, I don't know what the production is so gotta keep my options open!)

Here's my headcanon: Babooshka and this man were once young and head-over-heels in love, but shortly after getting married and having children, one of their children died. It could've been a stillborn, or perhaps the child died sometime after, before he/she could reach adulthood. Either way, the loss of their child drove a wedge between Babooshka and her husband and slowly Babooshka grew more distant as she let her grief consume her. Babooshka's husband wasn't completely innocent either though, he also didn't make much effort to bridge the steadily growing gap between them or address the couple's marital problems. Even so they stayed together, perhaps for the sake of their other children (my grandparents did this unfortunately) or maybe simply out of a sense of loneliness or propriety. Maybe they lived in a time period or place where divorce wasn't allowed or socially acceptable. Either way, Babooshka and her husband eventually grew older and one day Babooshka gets suspicious of her husband, thinking maybe he's cheating on her. She decides to test her theory by writing him fake admirer letters. Well, you know how the rest went. This "Babooshka" reminded the husband of his wife when she was young and full of life, back when they were both still passionately in love. He fell for "Babooshka" and when he threw himself at this mystery woman (because he was so lonely and desperate for affection) Babooshka snapped and killed him in a jealous rage, unaware that he only fell for the fake admirer because she reminded him of her. The end.
The art style adds to the singing! As well as having a beautiful voice to listen to, theres lyrics AND wonderful art! Well done Anna & Katrinci (the artist)!
in my language there is a song with a similar story but just opposite rules, the husbands wrote letters to his wife with flowers but did not sign them. that song is also very intresting because you dont know that its the husband until the end and he his a sheety husband so you think it makes sense that she want to leave him... any way this song reminded me of that 😅 great job as always anna!

ngl i mainly came back to this video to see your cat again
dm me and I can hook you up with exclusive pictures of my cats 😎😎
CAAAATS!!! Both are adorable.
ALSO WOW THOSE NOTES, GIRL!! YOU GO QUEEN.
As well as the fantastic singing, Katrinci’s art looks soooo good!!!
1:53 Spooky. I had no idea this song even existed until yesterday when you sang it. I love your cover!
This was amazing I NEED this woman to be my music Teacher😁😁. and also
2:17 was amazing
i’m so jealous of your voice
Omg words can not describe how beautiful this cover is, I can’t stop listening. Amazing job Anna, you have improved so much since I started watching you!
This was amazing, your voice is so beautiful. I wish people listened to more of Kate's songs other than Running Up That Hill like Babooshka and Wuthering Heights (which I hope you make a cover of). btw your cat does look like her name is babooshka
his name
@@sillygoosetaur you mean the cat?
FLUFFY SIAMESE! I love cats. Also love the song! I usually visit each video a few times... but this one stuck with me because of Babooshka and Louie.
I CAME HERE AS FAST AS I COULD TO HEAR THIS MASTERPIECE
2:17 AH THE CAT IS SO CUTE-
I just discovered your channel and listened to a few songs. I always thought Babooshka is a pretty nice song and that's pretty all to me. But your interpetation of it... I feel it. I can't describe or understand what's going on in my head. I have tears in my eyes and I don't even know why. I'm confused but... I want more.
You should cover Bring On the Men from the Jekyll and Hyde musical! Such a gorgeous voice
Oh my gosh YES
GET EXCITED
:) SIGN ME UP FOR THAT. God that would be epic. It's just as good if not better than Blue and Dead Girl Walking from Heathers.
Well... If your singing wasn't enough, those cat pics just bought you the top of my favorite music channels list
Tbh usually I only watch covers of songs I already know, but I decided to take a chance and was not disappointed!!! Great job Anna!! (Also AW KITTIES!!)
This is why Anna is one of my favorite celebrity singers ❤️ 💥
Beautiful singing Anna keep it up!
The vocals on this are ethereal
Thanks! ^w^
(also it's funny because whenever I sing/sang it, because of how little-kid me interpreted it, I was always lighter on some parts of the lyrics, to make parts like "when she was beautiful" and so on: like the wife sets up this entire thing, sour over not being able to have what they had before, only for the husband at the end to not be horrified, but to actually be like "but you're still that young self [babooska]" as he finally gets to see how much pain his wife is in, compared to the quiet rage she'd slowly grown to have...)
Mayhaps you should do a cover as well?
@@noisyphilosopherkrk522 if I had the confidence to sing on the internet? Mayhaps! /hj /lol
Lovely song as usual but also I LOVE YOUR CATS! Babooshka looks so soft and Louie's face is so shaped!!
I’ve been binging all your covers recently (a friend recommended me to you since I’m doing Arabian Nights as my audition song next year for a production, really enjoyed “Prince Ali”, and “Poor Unfortunate Souls” as well!), and I think you’d do amazing with
“That’s How You Know”
From Enchanted, since you have such an enchanting voice!
@@youshouldwatchthis For my production I’m working with a local theatre group who will be doing the Lion King Jr.
I’m going to try out for Scar with Arabian Nights. Don’t know if this helped, but hopefully I answered your question accordingly. If you have any more questions, go ahead.
Lastly, it’s alright! I totally understand. Got to *Be Prepared* for anything.
Here's my headcanon:
Babooshka and this man were once young and head-over-heels in love, but shortly after getting married and having children, one of their children died.
The end.
YOUR SINGING IS HYPNOTIC AHHH 🧎♀️🧎♀️
PLZ THE FIRST PIC OF BABOOSHA 😩❤️❤️❤️ her lil paws
the delivery of the second chorus made me want to combust it was so great!!😭
Before I heard this cover I really imagined her singing this. It Sounds so much better in reality! And the cats are so CUTE!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A BABOOSHKA COVER!!! YESSSS ANNA SLAYYY! 😍🤩❤️❤️
Oh my goodness! for some reason i'm CERTAIN your vocals have drastically improved in this one, the chorus was literally stunning!
Your voice >>>>>
I'll be listening to this on repeat now 🏃
The art style adds to the singing! As well as having a beautiful voice to listen to, theres lyrics AND wonderful art! Well done Anna & Katrinci (the artist)!
I’m in love with your voice!!!!
always a good day when annapantsu uploads
the way how she could literally pull off any song- -chefs kiss 💖-
Great song, beautiful vocals, AND cat pictures?!! If I wasn't already subscribed I'd have slammed it so hard I'd need a new phone.
in my language there is a song with a similar story but just opposite rules, the husbands wrote letters to his wife with flowers but did not sign them. that song is also very intresting because you dont know that its the husband until the end and he his a sheety husband so you think it makes sense that she want to leave him...
any way this song reminded me of that 😅 great job as always anna!
Surprised at the cover, your voice fits the song well!!
Omg you have the cutest fluff ball of a cat ever!!! And this cover was AMAZING, FABULOUS, WONDERFUL!! EVERYTHING GOOD
How melancholy-ly beautiful.
Well done performance once again!
I can't stop thinking about the cute kitty that this is named after 😻
Most beautiful version of this I've ever heard! ❤️
I feel bad for the cat imagine your owner is calling your name all over again and you keep coming but do not do anything😂😢😂
This amazing Anna. Wonderful singing like always! ❤
STOP YOU'RE FUELING MY KATE BUSH OBSESSION
Seriously though you did this song sooo well!!! Your voice is beautiful! I love the take on the song as well
Hi Anna! My comment will probably get lost but I just wanted to say thank you for being there for me in my lowest times. I enjoy your covers dearly and seeing you cover Micheal Bublé last month made me so happy. I would love to hear you sing Higher or something from him again because I adore your voice. I just went to see his Higher concert and it was AMAZING. I hope one day you’ll be able to have concerts too!! Best of wishes to you and your loved ones.💕💕
P.S. i love your cat’s name🐱💖
my god i kept playing back on the all yours parts because that so high like wow
Fun fact: technically the chorus could be interpreted as "grandma grandma". While babushka is the Russian word for granny, giagia (pronounced like "yaya" ) is the Greek one
Sweetie, this NEED to be on Spotify.
OMG I ALREADY SHE SLAYED-
I'm so glad I was watching and got to see your beautiful cats 😭 beautiful song and kitties
that is The Most 'cat named babooshka' cat i've ever seen
I love the song and have been listening to it majority of today but I cannot help but say cute cat pics 100% lures me in.
I listened to this while wearing my shift (that looks similar to the one Anna is wearing in the cover, I also ironically have red hair), a fancy lookin fur robe, and twirling around my room in front of my mirror with a cup of tea. I felt like a woman who's filthy rich husband recently died of mysterious causes and I'm isolating myself from everyone to "mourn" his death
