Naa theatre la paatha Vada Chennai (outside India) is different from what is available on OTT now. Background score is different in some places, some scenes were different, some dialogues too.
I don't know if that was the director's cut, but that's the Vada Chennai I liked more.

I had the pleasure of viewing the theatrical cut previously, but today I watched the extended cut, which was also exceptional. Upon finishing it, I felt a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. I am grateful to Vetri sir for his outstanding and inspiring work.🎉

I liked this extended cut more than the theatrical cut. it has more breathing space compared to the theatrical cut. expecting more directors do the same.

When Goutham addresses Rajeev Menon as sir, I realized he assisted Rajeev.
Tamizh and Malyalam cinephiles do not realize how lucky they are to have daring filmmakers like Vetrimaaran and Martin Prakkat who make films which speak truth to power. It is unthinkable for me to imagine a Hindi movie director coming close to making such searing movies like Visaranai and Nayattu. I would urge the Tamizh and Malayalam audience to keep going to see movies by such directors because their films are the only ones which are critical of authority, which is so refreshing to see while most of Bollywood is busy brown nosing the central government
Vetrimaran sir is not India's pride, but Cinema's pride
Rajiv Menon could become a great actor....He has the Poise and Grace, and has a soothing voice and a extended, not so rushed speech pattern.
If Directors cast him more often, we could see another great actor from the Industry!
He was offered Roja, but he declined.... subsequently Arvind Swamy was cast...

I really like Vetri’s own critique. Not many directors really does this kind of reflection. Like what Gautam said, Vetrimaran is always finding his film while doing it organically. Really a sincere director for his audience. Francis Coppola does that. That’s why you will see most famous western directors have many extended cuts. That’s what you will see in 4K or criterion releases. Wish to,see vetrimaran films in Criterion series. Really enjoyed all the three reflections about the film in this interview.

The extended version is another layer of the theatrical version... it was so exciting to see the various other events happening around the theatrical version...... both the theatrical and extended version makes this wholesome.... after seeing this... feeling that this must happen to Vadachennai also... i am sure Dir. Vetrimaran has so many layers like this in vadachennai movie too.. that it can be released as a Series....
Director's cut is fulfilling and satisfactory.
Uncut version is amazing, I don't know why he cut those parts..There is one character comes to screen now constable aari... Look forward to more uncut version...

To those persons who asking 'why did you cut those scenes vetri? Those are perfect'. The reason is us, we're the reason. If the director take 5 minutes for character arc, then we all yell the hell out of our mouths that the movie is slow, and actually what the hell we're really expecting? I really doesn't know. As BR said in his podcast, rn we (audience) are the one who destroying the art of cinema. Understand it.

Watched Viduthalai Director's Cut on ZEE 5 - A refreshing and yet much more intense watch. The 12 minute extra unedited run time gives us an unique experience. Vetrimaaran's cinematic brilliance is just pure Magic on screen. Can't wait for the second part. 🤞🤞❤️🔥

just watched the director's cut.. the movie flows so beautifully in this cut, not sure why VM chose to cut these scenes for theatrical, never felt a drag or any slowness... Glad he released this to the public... Thanks BR for the interview.

The scenes in extended cut actually distracted/ deviated a lot from the original story. Glad vetri didn't release the extended cut in theatres.
