Hi, Reems Thanks for such an informative video. Do foreign graduate should have license of America to apply PGY 1 program? If yes plz guide me how can I get license ?
Thank you for sharing valuable info. Is Pharm D degree from non ACPE accredited programs, acceptable for residency admissions? International graduates may not necessarily have one.
Some programs accept a PharmD degree from a non-ACPE-accredited school. My Pharm.D. is from a non-ACPE accredited pharmacy school and I was accepted into PGY1 and PGY2 programs.
Hi Reem. Always thank you for sharing valuable information about how to become Canadian pharmacist. I am a Korean and passed EE last year. Now, I'm preparing for MCQ test and CP3 program from UBC. From foreign born standpoint, I am concerned with my language level. Although I've practiced English with Canadian tutors and friends since a long time ago, I still am not sure of it. As an international pharmacy graduate, What do you think of that? I literally look forward to your answer. PS. Good luck to you!
I think verbal communication skills are very important in the job application process. Since practicing as a pharmacist relies heavily on communicating with patients and healthcare team
👋Hi ! I wanna become a pharmacist in usa 🇺🇸 I was planning to study b pharma in india and d pharma in us . What do u say is this a good idea 🤔 ? Or any other options rather than fpgee exam . Hello Reem, I just want to ask. You’ve been working as a licensed pharmacist in Canada, why suddenly be a resident in the US? Is being a pharmacist in the US better than in Canada? I really hope to hear from you. I’m a 24 yr old pharmacist here in the Philippines. And I’m under the express entry pool to be an immigrant there in Canda.
Thank you Reem so much for such an informative video. May i ask you if they do require an american graduate pharm D ? Or it can be International student Pharm D ?
Hey i have a question if i graduated from clinical pharm d program and which to work in us as clinical pharmacist do i have to take pgy1 or just the board exams I am an international student
it really depends on which state/city you are planning to work in. If the city has a more competitive pool of applicants, they might prefer a PGY1 trained applicant.
Thank you so much for this video. I was looking forward to it. So, as a foreign graduate going through licensure process, I am required to do the 1500 hours internship( the one after FPGEE) in a hospital setting to get an advantage in residency acceptance?
you completed 4 years of B.pharm and 3 yrs of Pharm.D then applied for the FPGEE exams? As it needs 5 years of Pharmacy to be eligible for FPGEE exams right?
@@kashishsingh6943 No, I graduated with a 5 years Bachelors of Pharmcy degree and then directly applied for the FPGEE . Yes you are right, it requires a 5 years degree
That was very helpful. How much does the program cost? I'm a full-time Rph at a retail pharmacy and want to get into hospital, no pharmD. I'm assuming I'll have to quit for that year or there's distance learning? Thank you Reem
The internship has to be completed in-person. It can take up to a year to complete the internship/bridging program. I am not sure about the cost of the program though, you may reach out to them directly
Hi Reem, Thank you for the information. I am a foreign graduate pharmacist from Nigeria currently in California> I have passed my Naplex and am about to take my CPJE. Unfortunately no, you have to go through U.S pharmacy licensure first and become a u.s licensed pharmacist first before being able to apply for residency (however some programs go for an extra requirement such as holding a PharmD degree) . I recommend going through each program requirement to get a comprehensive idea
thank your for your information. May i know which visa can we have when we move to US to do PGY1 and PGY2 programs? And how about this job in US because i know this job in US don't have much positions eventhough you are a PR or citizen?

For example, if you get an PGY2 in geriatric pharmacy at Pittsburgh, could you work as a geriatric pharmacist in Albany (New York State) ? Congratulation for your residency acceptance 💪💪💪💪
Do we get stipend during residency or training hours ?

Canada is great. America has more residency programs with various specialities.

There are more pharmacy residency programs in the United States

Yes, you can. After completing your specialty training, you can work pretty much anywhere as long as you are licensed in that state.
Does GPA matters a lot ?
Most residency programs look at GPA in addition to the letter of intent, CV, letter of recommendations .. etc.
