No matter what or any negative things some have to say about Lonnie, including discrediting him; God’s hand was upon his life and he was used by God with a special grace to touch and reach many lives for Jesus Christ. As an evangelist, I can relate to things Lonnie went through, because I’ve experienced and seen it firsthand over the years myself. Here’s what I will say. Be Obedient to God (no matter) the Cost. Do what He tells you to do in full obedience to the One whom called you. If you want to be used, get use to persecution and going against the grain as normal, because it will come to test you. God bless you all🙏🏾 Give people Jesus! Live a life pleasing to Him.

The stronger your anointing, the more of an effect you have on the body, the more the enemy will come at you thru various and diverse ways. 🇺🇲America, we need to go back to this. The passion, the anointing, the love of God in it's purest form. Through Jesus Christ, we need to repent of our sins and accept Jesus as Lord. I missed this movement being born in 1979, but God still had a plan for me and my life. He saved me in Highschool, I was a 19 year old Senior. But what these people experienced, I experienced the day I accepted him, I felt his arms literally embrace me, I felt the warmth prescence of the Lord. Everything was there, but it became new before my eyes.
Now at 43 years old, I still serve, love, and accept as Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I am still on the battlefield knowing this world dont have too much time left. As for Lonnie, he was used by God tremendously, he was a great man of God, he had his struggles, but on his deathbed, it comforts me to know, that he repented of his sins. His spirit is with Jesus now, question is, what about you? What about me? We must get our own lives together before we run and judge someone else.

@@jsnpojarify Lonnie returned to a life of sin. Of course he had to be excommunicated, and Chuck's church isn't the only one that had to bar him. The Apostle Paul himself said, "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

    • @jsnpojarify
      @jsnpojarify Рік тому +12

He didn't at first. He left to focus on his marriage, THEN that's when things went down hill. The thing that it actually was that made Chuck and Lonnie split though was that God was using Lonnie in a way that looked charismatic but was actually from God, like healing people and such and for some reason Chuck didn't want his church to turn into a charismatic church. Even though Lonnie wasn't trying to do that, He was just ministering in different ways and it looks like Chuck couldn't handle it. I loved Chuck Smith, so it's kind of sad to hear that about him, but him and Lonnie are in Heaven now and they see eye to eye now, so all is good. Now let's hope that those others that were involved in The Jesus Revolution will now see that what Lonnie was doing was from God and not a "toxic charismatic thing". Also, Lonnie came back to his faith in God at the end of his life. So praise God for that.

Lonnie did work at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa after he left the first time and fell away, when he came back, he found out he had AIDS and kept it a secret until a year before he died. That's how I see it happen. He even has a book about his death bed thoughts.

Lonnie came back to Calvary & Chuck Smith & made things right. Lonnie had a zeal for the Lord but zeal without knowledge. Roman’s 10:1-3 & also in Proverbs 19 as well. This can sometimes get us in trouble. God used him mightily but according to Scripture, there has to be order in the church. Be careful about judging a situation that you do not have all the information on. Chuck Smith wanted all glory to God not man.

Im gonna have to agree with you but just dont know but I am sure that "revival" is not a biblical agenda that we are to look for but to preach the gospel and make disciple. Chuck smith greg laurie may be involved in starting some new churches but that doesn;t mean those are acts of God, or Copeland, hinn, Osteen would be considered revivals. I dont buy it, I dont hear Lonnie say he became born again but just had an epiphany of becoming a Jesus hippie, thats what it seems like to me, and I just watched a video of the recent Asbury revival and it is being lead by homosexuals as well ua-cam.com/video/Qh-DCNDo3BM/v-deo.html

Part of the problem that started the separation between Lonnie & Chuck was Chuck didn’t believe in speaking in tongues or hearing God to pray for someone that need healing & see it happen! So sad because from what I’ve heard (videos) from others about this that were there & in that church & ones with Lonnie that was the biggest problem & other organizations- sad their missing soo much of the Truth - the Truth of what Jesus said & provided the Holy Spirit to be not only with us- but in us, to be guided by God- To do the same that Jesus sent out His Disciples to do! And to have the Heavenly Language just like in Acts. Praying for these that their eyes would be open 🙏🏼

@@cherylrightnour9918 Chuck Smith did believe in speaking in tongues & the gifts but he didn’t believe it should bring attention to self. Always to glorify Jesus as that is what Scripture teaches. Therefore he didn’t believe it should take place in a large setting as it can quickly get out of control as I have witnessed many times as people began to look at the man. Scripture teaches it should not happen publicly without an interpretation. I go to a Calvary church (25 years)& came out of some charismatic churches before that where they go by experience & emotion instead of the Word. They do not stop people from praying in the Spirit or in small group settings.

I don't know how Lonnie misread this scripture (the grammar is awkward and a bit hard to understand), but in 2 Kings 7:2 it says: "But the officer on whose arm the king leaned answered the man of God, "Look, even if the LORD were to make windows in heaven, could this really happen?"
"You will see it with your own eyes," replied Elisha, "but you will not eat any of it." verse 17 of same chapter: "Now the king had appointed the officer on whose arm he leaned to be in charge of the gate, but the people trampled him in the gateway, and he died just as the man of God had foretold. . .". So it was the officer that was trampled, not the king of Israel.
This is a small instance of not checking on scripture to which a speaker is referring. In the Discipleship/Shepherding Movement which so wounded Lonnie, scripture was definitely twisted, phrases left out.
In Seattle, at Christ Church of Northgate, I remember head pastor Jim Hamman speaking to our singles group (I was 25 at the time), pushing the agenda of the Discipleship Movement.
His words are burned in my memory:
"Now Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd - but God has other shepherds and He wants you to learn to listen to them. . .". Like Satan did in tempting Jesus in the wilderness, Jim Hamman twisted scripture, leaving out the rest of the scripture: "My sheep hear my voice and another voice they will not listen to!!!"
As soon as I heard those words, it was like red warning lights flashing in my spirit, and I was hearing frantic, frenzied sirens going off in the Spirit.
All around me the young men in this group were loudly saying, "Amen, brother! Amen, brother!" NO ONE AT ALL was sitting there in shock, they were all affirming this heresy.
This heresy led to dangerous health situations as pastors, elders, deacons and home leaders all had different opinions about whether a woman should have children when her doctor said she would risk her life if she got pregnant again; marriages were destroyed because the above leaders didn't respect what God had joined together. People were confused as to what life vocation they should have because these leaders had conflicting opinions.
So the heresy of the Discipleship/Shepherding movement gutted the Jesus People Revolution in Seattle. All these years since, the church in Seattle has not recovered - we have not been loving, courageous salt and light- but i sense the Spirit is beginning to move again - remember People of God - know the scripture, know your Bible - notice when scripture is used out of context; if a promise is given from the word, but the condition to fulfill the promise is not included. Beware of just a phrase being lifted out of context.
As far as fathers consuming their sons, it is Lonnie speaking from his pain. We have to let people choose how they minister, the lens through which they see how to lead people of God. We just go on as God leads us and find those who we can work with and in whose fellowship we can have harmony and we expand the kingdom of God to the best of our ability. Phil spoke about this at the very end.

I thought you were on the right path at first, but you did not get there in the end. Whether this institutionalised reformed hippy, wearing an ecclesiastical collar of the clergy (with nuns in the background in the fashion of the late Kathryn Kulman false prophetess who gave Lonnie the title prophet), is either on or off ... history has proved he became Chuck Smith's darling co hireling to channel the genuine searching hippies away from the true sovereign move of God at the time (the true Body of Christ without the camp), called the Jesus Movement, back into counterfeit/institutionalised Christendom. Both would be rewarded in the end with this unholy alliance. One would get the platform he so craved for, while the other would get a "life" injected boost to go from being an ordinary established church down the road, to another mammoth denomination/mega church, labelled Calvary Chapel.
