What a joyous time. I was there. Saved on 2/22/70 through a Lay Witness Mission. Kathryn Kuhlman was at a Methodist Pastors’ conference in Dallas in the early 1970’s. My folks and my grandmother were there. One pastor who was ‘forced’ to be there testified that he had heard about Kathryn and wanted nothing to do with her. He volunteered to work in the sound booth in the very back of the large auditorium, as far from the stage as possible. He said that Kathryn looked his direction, smiled and pointed her “long, crooked finger” and the next thing he knew his was on the stage, on his back, crying and laughing. He has been slain in the Spirit, saved and transformed. He said that she never said a word and he doesn’t remember walking to the stage but the power of God moving through her was undeniable. Lord, bring back that anointing in these troubled, challenging times.
Yep. That was the real thing, the real falling out under the power. Not the counterfeit stuff we see today.
I’m an original Jesus People from Oct 12, 1971. I was changed that very night. Still His and still learning. I love Him more because I know Him more. He transformed me.

Me too. A Saturday autumn night 1971 my life changed. I’m still in love with Him and smiling.
I am so happy that I gave my heart to the Lord when I was just 14 years of age. But it wasn't until the age of 20 that there was a total turnaround in my life and I never looked back again. It's been forty years now since I've served a Lord and it is absolutely wonderful. I love him and will love him until my death. Then I will live an eternal life in heaven.
I was in my early 20's when I got converted. After a while, due to one thing or another (took my eyes off Christ) fell into a long time of fooling around. Its only more recent times where I realised that I couldnt keep wasting my life. I deeply regret those wasted years.....

I was such an idiot in high school....my friends made fun of these kids, I'm almost 62 and I just made JESUS my savior 2.5yrs ago...it's very hard, I just have u tube vids, no church, no mentors...hope I make it
"To everything there is a season." I know it must be hard, because the state of the Western Church is such that is hard for true seekers everywhere now. Still, don't beat yourself up too much. The good news is that the Holy Spirit is omnipresent; He is everywhere. You can draw upon His great wealth of truth, and He will be there for you always for He is the comforter. I pray God will bring other "Jesus People" your way and that you will be lead to a great home church. You WILL make it, in Jesus name.

You have Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, and that's all you need to read His word, understand it, and grow in relationship with Him. Lots are coming out of the man made "church" system. Many, including myself, have woken up about that. (John 14:26-But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you ALL things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
) No one's perfect, so we all make mistakes, and that unfortunately includes lots of these so called pastors out there who have no business teaching. Teaching is a Gift and not all are teachers. Romans 1:27-If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.

Lots of doctrines of demons are being passed down and taught as scripture. Ever since i cut off listening to the voice of men, and allowed the one and only voice that has all true power and authority to speak to me (Gods voice), i've grown spiritually, exponentially. All you need is Gods Holy Spirit to teach you what His word is saying.
I'd like to share also, that if you want to see what real "Church" looks like, Read the Book of Acts. That is how it's to really be done. It's a far cry from what we see here today.
There's the JW's, the seven day Adventists, the Anabaptist, and baptists, Mormons etc. etc. Each have their "own" doctrine of belief's. They can't All be right, and God be wrong. It has to be that God is Right, and they are all wrong. There's a man who doesn't teach you "How" to be a christian, but shares with you what it is like to be a christian. His name is Dan Mohler. Look him up here on youtube. He has many videos, and is on point, greatly encouraging too! He so gets it. :)
Also when reading the word of God, the word of God never ever contradicts itself. If anything it always witnesses to itself! A Great resource to use is www.Biblehub.com It has great cross references, using only Gods word, and not mens commentary, thoughts, and opinions. Sadly, the Kathryn Kuhlman Foundation could have helped you with dozens of items just a couple years ago, but it shuttered its doors in 2016. All of her media materials, i.e. books, tapes, CDs and DVDs have been sent to the Billy Graham Center in Wheaton Ill. What they choose to do with her materials is still up in the air, as I haven't heard anything. They're certainly not advertising anything with respect to their acquisition.
Carol Gray ran the foundation for a few decades till it closed its doors, so maybe there is a way you could get hold of her for further information on Miss Kuhlman's materials. Of course you can still obtain virtually all of her books online, including all from her Bibliography (authored by Miss Kuhlman). The three volumes of testimonials are readily available online: I Believe In Miracles (1962), God Can Do It Again (1969), and Nothing Is Impossible With God (1974). Also there were a few mini-books telling individual testimonials in 1975 her last year of Ministry because there were so many miracles being reported that they could not keep up with publishing them all. A few of those books are "10,000 Miles For A Miracle", "NEVER TOO LATE", and "HOW BIG IS OUR GOD" (one that I haven't read :)).

Yes! Wow, those must have been wonderful days. A little before my time, though I certainly reaped the fruit of the Jesus movement. Chuck Smith was stellar; what a loss to the Body of Christ is his passing. Did you say you were actually in attendance at this taping in 1971?

Just thinking this morning about The Jesus People movement. We had a few sayings. 1 Way. Jesus is the Way. Jesus is my bag. Still makes me smile.
I found the Lord back in 74 and seen Kathryn in Houston at the time. My life has never been the same. My Mother called me a holy roller and I wore that with honor, because I belonged to Jesus and still do 48 years later.
The Jesus Movement has lasting fruit that has endured the test of time. You are an example of that. Thank you for sharing.
That's a beautiful that you choose Jesus Christ but those who put this rebellious lady on a pedestal are lacking in their understanding of the Lord and his word.

I agree Ian...I was saved in July of 78 at Jesus Northwest. The young people that were serving God back then was stunning, they were everywhere.....fast forward 35 years and I was watching Kathryn Kuhlman on YT when she was ministering (in Las Vegas in 1975)....my right arm was heal of a bad injury (instantly)....a man with middle eastern name had the exact same miracle and testified to it in the comments!

I sang in a choir at one of her crusades. She was frail looking, but when she spoke, you knew that the power of God was in her. She could take a lion down with her conviction. It was just absolutely supernatural. A lot of people were healed. I was one of those Jesus people.

It starts with you. Simply prayerfully, humbly, read scripture, repent, and obey. It’s not about any one special that starts it, it’s about submitting to God with your whole life and watching the miracles flow. I it’s seems to me there’s a lot of people that God had growing on their own that are about to collide, all glory to God, praise God, yes it’s going to be amazing and so many will see God’s good that’s always been there but hidden for so long among all the censorship and lies. God gives us free will. He's not a tyrant. God shows no favorites- James 2: 1-9. He doesn't choose who He will save. He said whoever confesses with their mouth that Jesus Christ, is Lord will be saved. Simple. @lawnguy41

I was there when this TV show was made. We all went up to Hollywood with Pastor Chuck Smith to be at her program. She was a nice lady. This was around April 1971. The first two singers are Tom Stipe and Chuck Butler, and Duane Pederson and Pastor Chuck Smith are sitting with Kathryn. Next performers are the Children of the Day.

I know. I feel for you. I feel very sorry for millennials and the next up and coming generation, Gen Z. There isn't much out there in terms of churches that have been impacted by GENUINE, far-reaching spiritual revival. But if you knock and keep on knocking, be persistent, eventually God will show you little pockets of revival in the land. It may turn out to be an awesome home group. Best, Ian
There is the most amazing holiness personal revival going on right now. It might look a little lonely, but that’s because God is preparing individuals to be dependent on him and not each other, so that we will be able to work with each other according to his will and not our will, when the time comes. The people with the gifts of the Holy Spirit may not be the ones leading the church right now, but they are the ones on TickTock giving their all to God. To the younger people if you pray for God to bring the right people around you, he will, some of them might be through videos, but you’re not alone.

I was saved back in Dec. 1974 at the age of 20. I had a dramatic encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ while driving my VW bus listening to rock music on my 8-track player. I took my mother to a Kathryn Kuhlman meeting in Pittsburgh a few month later where her back was healed. Those were some wonderful times.

I gave myself to Jesus during this movement and never looked back. It has been a great life. Trials yes, but He walked with me through them. Never needed stuff or cared about cultural pressure. Sean feught is the new Jesus revival with "let us worship". All 50 capitals beginning this year. This old Jesus lovin hippie freak will be there praying over today's folks needing liberty, peace, Joy and a savior never to be alone again.
Sean is def his own man, as I've only recently had knowledge of him or his ministry. Kathryn was of the belief that the Jesus People generation was the last youth generation to facilitate a national spiritual revival, prior to the beginning of sorrows. If you project 30 years from 1971, one arrives at 2001, wherein a dystopian change seems to have taken root in the West.
Went to a Kuhlman meeting InLA my brother was dealing with alcoholism, he went forward for healing and after she touched him he never drank again. She was a powerful force with the Holy Spirit.

I got saved in 1975, a friend of mine came from Costa Mesa and gave me a Living Bible...it led me to Christ. After I got saved I recorded an album to tell my friends of my conversion. The title was WATERS, Ben Antell Band. I don't know if it was any good, but it was my way of praising God for His mercy.

Ben, in 1979, My Dad gave me the Living bible, and I read it for three weeks straight and was born again in the middle of the night in a profound way. I didn't understand what I was reading at the time, just kept reading the Book of John. Jesus Christ showed up and saved me by pouring out His love, Peace, Joy, sanctification, and purification through His shed blood, crucifixion, and resurrection power. I repented and have never been the same again. Continually being transformed, going from Glory to glory, and falling in love with believing GOD above all others, daily. God is not a man that He shall lie. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!!! Before I was born again and started reading the Bible, the Holy Spirit was moving on me just like he did at the beginning of Genesis. And my Dad gave me the Living Bible. Glory to GOD!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

you know, Ms. Kuhlman spoke about the loneliness that can accompany the sanctified life of an evangelist. As she said here she never had children (she actually never lived with the man she married because she realized on her wedding day that it was a mistake and was never consummated). It is clear though that her potential mother's heart just came alive amongst these young believers, asked them to come right up close, and touched their cheeks and hair as she would have had she had her own children. It was truly a blessing and gift to her to have the fellowship of these young believers.
Yes, that just dawned on me recently, i.e. the fact that Kathryn and Burroughs were married seven years and never had any children, and it is very telling. I think there's a high probability that, after Kathryn realized she had made a mistake and was out of God's perfect will, a quality decision was made not to consummate the marriage. (It had been reported that they slept in separate bedrooms).
What an atmosphere of infectious love and joy. You could see genuine love oozing out from Miss Kuhlman to these precious ones. That's what Christianity is all about!

oh my goodness...its like when she is talking to those young people,they look at her with such love....something you dont even see in churches today
At the time, she was the forerunning Leader of the Charismatic Movement that was sweeping the Church in North America. She had earned the respect of the masses of sincere, loving Christians for such a time as that. Younger Believers, in particular, literally looked up to her with awe because she shined so much of Jesus' love on them.
Sometimes you can feel the Continuous flow of the Holy Spirit on some (not many) Christians. You can also see in some Christians what feels like you’re looking into the eyes of Christ. It’s not about the individual, it’s about God and how that individual has truly allow themselves to become like a candle for the light of Christ. I’m too young to have ever been around this movement or met these people, but I’ve met people who definitely are not attractive but the Jesus inside them is a tractive to the point where you just want to look into their eyes and beg God that you can grow in walking in his presence like that too. One time I was talking to someone who went to first service at church and second service was letting out and I could feel I’m particular people the Holy Spirit and I just couldn’t help myself and I told the person I could feel the Holy Spirit on some people, she then said today we prayed for the Holy Spirit to dwell in our lives, I could literally feel it when the doors open to the church and the people poured out, some, not all truly were filled with the Holy Spirit at my very non-charismatic church.
Only his children will understand this. Thank you Jesus!

I’m a devout follower of Yeshua (Jesus) and the way this woman acts is just creepy. Acting all holy - like a satanic catholic parading around like they’re something more than they are. It screams stranger danger. Sorry, but His Holy Spirit is convicting me - saying there’s something very wrong.
She in fact never acted super-spiritual, so much so that she did not permit cameras in her services but twice, i.e. in the 30 year history of her ministry. Further, she exuded true Christian humility to such a degree, that she never once stated that she had the gift of healing, nor any gift of the Spirit. (This she did, notwithstanding three volumes chock full of medically documented healing-miracles). In every service she made it a point at the beginning to verbally "vow before the visible and invisible world, to give Yah all the glory for the supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit that will occur in this service."
Finally, if she acted "holy" as you propose, maybe it was because she actually was, and experienced a definite baptism in the Holy Spirit when she died (to self). We see so few evangelical leaders today with such a high level of consecration as Miss Kuhlman evidenced in her life and ministry, with eternal fruit that lives on.

When I look back how shocked and desperate I was before I watched this video and how happy I am now I don't think that this was pure accident.
I also don't believe that the thought to watch something from Miss Kuhlman at that time was just an accidental thought. It was God guiding me and I believe that God has
already healed me even though the doctor's report says something else, because our God is an almighty, a wonder-working God and what

I am a Christian and want to state clearly that I know nothing about this woman. But to me she comes across fake and like a cult leader. A bit creepy. Am I the only one? If she was sincere and truly a woman with the love of Christ, then I am glad.
She was sincere. More importantly she was a consecrated saved Christian. The fruit of her ministry was thousands saved and healed.

What a powerful program that was. I could feel the love and the power of the Holy Spirit so much. To see the change in these young peoples lives, and to see the love of Jesus upon their countenance moved me to tears. As well as Sister Khulman’s moving with compassion and such love broke me down to tears. What a wonderful woman of God.
To think that one day, all of them will be together in heaven, as well as us.
Many of the JP are already in heaven, rejoicing with Miss Kuhlman before the Lamb.

got tears in my eyes, She reminds me of Arthur Blessitt..who I met in the 90's. I knew he was in town, my work colleagues were saying nasty things while I went over to where Arthur was ministering to some people on the street. I always remember him saying how God has us in the palm of His Hand. Anyway, went back to where I was working and my colleagues were still saying nasty things. I didnt feel angry with them...I just felt this incredible sorrow for them. That 23 year old guy in the video hit the nail on the head...about never being alone anymore.
I know. So very humble was she. I am familiar with Arthur Blessit as well. And you're right about Tom hitting the nail on the head. Loneliness is all the more prevalent in this new millennium and the world needs to know the answer. It's time the Church gets back to the days of the revivalists who preached the one true gospel.

There is that incredible freedom in Christ, a freedom that sees any of us being able to get alongside all kinds of people...some very dangerous ones too...to get that Message across. Its so sad, much of the 'organised' Church misses the point...even denying the reality of Christs Power to rebuild a person...to restore. Thats right...this world is tearing itself apart. Some of us are meant to be alone with God, to know Him and be taught by Him and Him alone.
Not to rely on a pastor, to be taught by God himself!
Don’t get me wrong, nothing better than finding a good spirit filled church, but they are growing fewer and fewer in these end times. The enemies attacks on the body of Christ are stronger now more than ever! Only the strong in Christ are going to be left standing against the plans of the enemy to destroy every last Christian! The closer I get to God, the more I’ve had to unlearn what I’ve been taught in church! God wants to teach you the Bible Himself, with the Holy Spirit’s guidance to tell you what His word means for you! To show you the plans He has for your life. We are all handmade by God for a specific purpose and He wants to teach you Himself what that purpose is! So that you may walk and live in the fullness of your God-given purpose and specific design planned and made just for you. That no one else created can do, but you! 📖
It’s about fully surrendering and giving your will to the Lord. Die of yourself, your flesh and this world. Live only for God and his will and purpose for your life. We are not made whole in this life if we are not living out the purpose we are specifically made for by God to do.🙇🏻♀️
You can go to church your whole life and still find yourself locked out of the gates of heaven. To stay on the narrow path that leads to the gates, you have to deny yourself, pick up your cross, never looking right nor left nor behind only straightforward. KEEPING YOUR EYES ON JESUS! ✝️

That was my experience too. God took me out of a good church and sent me to what I thought was a wilderness. He said don't look to any person or pastor to teach you about me. The holy spirit is perfectly able to teach you all you need to know about him. I didn't understand at the time what a privilege that was.

That is the million dollar question. I think others, i.e. those who were involved in this Movement and are still alive would be better qualified to answer your question. There is no simple answer, but from what I can glean, it seemed to fade out in the early 1980s after a good run of 15 years or so, overrun by the corrupt fruit of the so-called "word of faith" movement and its tangential hyper-prosperity gospel {That is, overrun by a counterfeit Jesus/Christian movement}.
@@ianfrancis777 Word of Faith, combined with the rise of the Moral Majority, took many of our eyes off Jesus. At the same time, the Jesus Movement per se had become institutionalized and sold to youth ministers to the point where it really lost that counter-cultural edge.

The church's of today have failed to believe all of Jesus and failed to teach all of Jesus they have picked and chosen what they believe is true instead of measuring to the truth of the the same Gospel that Jesus brought and taught so they have tied Gods hands. Remember the word spoke of Jesus not being able to do much because of unbelief in certain cities.

This is so profound when she talks about "have you taken a look in their eyes or touched their hair" back then, older people were disgusted with hippies that entered the church with no shoes etc. This is how the Jesus movement started, someone who had a heart for them and Chuck Smith washing the hippies feet at the door to show the older generation what Jesus would do. They got the point and this is alllll how it started. Katherine touching their hair and face, the way she does it at first looks weird but now that you know the cultural context, it's so profound! Amen!
