Also.. your idea of camping a night, getting a hotel one night and rotating is exactly what my fiance and I do!!! So that way you can have a nice shower every once in awhile on vaca

As an avid camper, the best thing you can do to make your experience easier is to create a camping tote! Get a good locking water proof box and put all of your supplies in it(cooking equipment, basic seasonings, silverware/plates/paper towels, fire starter, tea kettle, etc). When your next spontaneous trip comes, grab the tote and go! It’s soooo much easier to get everything together and not forget basic things you always need! Hope you love camping, it’s one of the most fulfilling experiences for me, and you have a beautiful place to do it!

As someone that grew up camping in Washington, once you have your set up it is sooo much fun!! I remember as a kid we would try sleeping in sleeping bags over little matts- forget it. Get a little air mattress and throw that shit up there! You'll sleep so much better and your back won't hurt the next day! ❤
As an arizona native, October is NOT the time of year to camp yo 😆 way too cold. I’d say late September at the latest. But I hope that doesn’t discourage you from camping again! It’s really such a blast when you come fully prepared.

For my second anniversary with my boyfriend we did exactly what you said. We camped at 2 different spots as we road-tripped to Santa Barbra and we stayed at a hotel the last night definitely recommend. One of the most memorable trips. We love camping and try to go at least once a months, most of the time as a big friend group but sometimes just us two.

Lol i love that this lotion is being featured by a lot of UA-camrs. It’s funny because I actually discovered it a few months back and am obsessed. Like how do you become obsessed with something as basic as lotion. But anywho I love the coconut waters scent. Also, I totally would have bought it because of Lauren, but this time I beat her to it!!

Ahh so glad you liked camping! It’s a huge thing in Australia and especially when travelling/road trips, some of the setups are sooo huge and we call them rooftop tents (for obvious reasons) you easily learn the pros and cons and what you need : head torches are essential for cooking at night !

Me & my boyfriend would go Over-landing every weekend last year (rain, shine, snow, thunder) and it was some of the best experiences exploring the state & creating a stronger bond with him. But of course it has its CONS like cleaning, bathroom & basically bringing your entire home with you lol
I love camping! I’m going tomorrow but this time it’s going to be “glamping” but I love how peaceful it is & really clears your mind.

I drove from Texas to California and camped all over the west for a month. Took showers at truck stops and got a few air bnbs and I’ve never had more fun! Also a good pillow is so important, bunching up a jacket also works if you don’t have one.
And Y’all should invest in a cozy two person down sleeping bag. It’s so so warm. I sleep in a zero degree down bag basically all year because I run so cold lol big Agnes has a good two person one! And a sleeping pad with a high R value is a game changer if y’all didn’t have that, it keep you warm from the bottom :) hope to see more camping!

Lmao love the camping but yes bringing comfy stuff for sleep is such a must. Literally make a pillow and blanket fort and you will have no regrets. Also growing up I would occasionally go to Cracker Barrel and thought I hated southern food until I met my husband and him and his family showed me what real southern food tasted like 😂

Also, OK I love y’all but first you should get a like 0° sleeping bag, second, definitely bring pillows, get a mattress topper, or a blowup mattress to put up there and bring all of your blankets!!!!!!!! Also pro tip. If it’s going to get really cold get handwarmers look at a lot of them because you can like put them inside your jacket put them inside your socks...like put them everywhere!!

next time, try "hobo dinners", so good and easy. I went to overnight camp (for a month at a time) as a kid and it was seriously life changing. I met my childhood bf there and we just reconnected and are planning a camping trip, possibly going back to the camp we met at.

Yessss Lauren me and my bestie did that for our San Diego to sam Francisco road-trip we slept one night in the car one night in a hotel back & fourth for a week and saw Yosemite sequoia Big Sur etc!!

There are sleeping bags that keep you heeelllaaaa warm even if it's like 0 degrees you should get a couple of those.. I LOVE! And idk if you said the bed was uncomfy but there are like nice inflatable camping mats that are super cute and compact and fire 😊

as an outdoor girly i recommend sleeping pads! and also they make little camping pillows that are blow up and girrrrrl they do it all! but also regardless camping is not the place to get a good nights sleep but it is the spot for a good nights mind ya dig

Omg my boyfriend and I did a road trip like this last year! We drove from LA to San Luis Obispo, stayed in a hotel, spent the next day in slo then drove down to somewhere in between (it was like 15 min from solvang, can’t remember where exactly because he drove and planned it lol) camped the second night and woke up early to have breakfast in solvang, then drove to Santa Barbara and stayed in a hotel there again!

Okay first of az get cold like extremely cold at night tell Hennyto get a portable propane heater they are the best for the cold we got our on offers up they get expensive also layer layer layer. Hopefully next try is better!! My favorite place to go camping is Rim Lakes Vista Overlook. Good luck ❤
