I've been on internet looking for someone just like YOU for quite some time!!! You explain everything thoroughly and even throw in music theory at the same time. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Well I'm glad you found me. Yes, I like to put some theory in all of the lessons so beginners can gradually absorb it. Important stuff. Thanks for the comment. I'll be posting a new lesson on Sunday.
Have learned a lot from you. Adam Clayton's playing isn't too difficult at all. U2's 'One' is also very straightforward to play. Keep your vids coming!
...ordered THE SAME "TUNER" i saw you that used in your video. Can you suggest a drum machine(or)...that would work best/well for a beginning bass player/TC Electronic POLYTUNE 3 Ultra-Compact Polyphonic Tuner with Multiple Tuning Modes and Built-In BONAFIDE BUFFER . --- Learning from watching you to get started. A drum machine is great to have. I had the Alesis SR-16. It's a good sounding machine and pretty easy to use, but mine stopped working after a few years of having it. I use the Zoom MRT-3 drum machine, which I've been using probably over 15 years. Great machine! I'm gonna give you a few links to check out... this is a demo of the Zoom MRT-3: ua-cam.com/video/e9J6FMFJjVU/v-deo.htmlsi=YqiW7aN1qFSlNmyq ..here's a rock song that was recorded using the Zoom MRT-3 drum machine: ua-cam.com/video/WAQYkeE2Yvk/v-deo.htmlsi=c96ONlIXiuKpmAST and here's a blues song that was recorded using the Zoom MRT-3 drum machine: ua-cam.com/video/k3LaPT45Aio/v-deo.htmlsi=tHWiT3Ximv4hcpx1 You might have a hard time finding one new because they discontinued them. But, I still see a few floating around on Ebay or Amazon. I know you can buy them used, but you're always rolling the dice buying electronics used. There really aren't a lot of other choices other than the Zoom MRT-3 or the Alesis Sr-16.
I totally thought that this song was "Just What I needed" by the Cars .. It was the 2nd song that i learned on bass! I know that it is in E major....i though that possibly i was taught wrong. 😂 Great video, Steve
Ha! Yeah, if you Google "songs with 1-5-6-4 chord progressions" dozens will most likely come up. There's something about that progression that the ear likes. Just change the words and melody and ya have a totally different song. Here's another lesson where I use a 1-2-2-1 which is another popular progression ua-cam.com/video/0WL4xHx38gU/v-deo.htmlsi=DZiaCVHEz_I-CTKW
There are hundreds of songs using I - V - VI - IV But since you want it in D-major and the bass to play eight notes makes me think of a song by an Irish band.
Thank you for another great video Steve, that’s a classic U2 song that I love, would you be kind enough to do a tutorial for save your tears by the weeknd? 🙏, as usual your videos are massively appreciated 👍👍👍
These are some of the most informative videos I've ever come across you tube, I've learnt more today binge watching and listening to you than I thought possible for an old guy like me. Well done and many many thanks.
Glad the videos are helpful to you Gary. Stay consistent with practicing and you'll improve as a player. Most players that take lessons with me are older and I've seen them all improve. Keep at it and have fun.
Thank you Steve, you are a great help and a very good teacher for me👏👏👏👏👏👏i’m ver glad that you do give lessons on video on the youtube channel👏👏👏, thank you🙏🏼thank you Steve🙏🏼you’re a great teacher for me, thank you Steve. Thank you very much Steve, greetings from The Netherlands👋

Hey Steve am from Zambia 🇿🇲 just wanted to say thank you for for such helpful lessons for us beginners I'm learning bass through your lessons 🙏 . Though I still can figure out the song can you assist with the artist.
Glad to hear ya liked the lesson. "Just What I Needed" would be a 1563 in E. There are probably hundreds of popular songs that use these easy 4 chord progressions. Easy equals hit I gather, lol.
@@stevekonbass coming along nicely. We still do not have power or water there yet. Kind of a precarious situation. I need these issues resolved before I can move my mobile home there.
@@stevekonbass it has a well and septic. The property has been abandoned for like 8 years. During that time someone has stolen the pressure tank and all of the plumbing from the well house. I still have to pay for the mobile home mover and pay an electrician to install my wiring from the service pole- which I just had to buy with the breaker box/service meter. Just a lot to be done and expenses piling up. Cutting it stupid close money wise.

One of my favorites too. My buddy got it for me. We're both fans of the movie.
