Curly was one of a kind. He was my favorite. Also I read he saved many animals in his life as he was an animal lover. What a wonderful and special passion he had especially in those days before animal rights came into play. Curly was a special person. May he Rest In Peace. God bless.
It's also sad that the studios took advantage of the stooges. They made a movie about the stooges. Thet stooges had no idea that people loved them during that era since the studios kept the stooges in the dark. Moe's children shared alot of the stooges history a few years back.
The Stooges were fully aware of their popularity, they went on numerous personal appearance tours and played to big crowds. That movie contained many myths about the Stooges.
There will never be a funnier person than Curly. A hundred years from now they will still be watching the Stooges and laughing. Thank you gentlemen for all the years of laughter, something this world sadly needs now more than ever.
You know if (and when) you really look at Curly - you can absolutely discern that he was a very very bright intelligent man. You can see it in his expression and his reaction to the other two stooges. My guess is that several things were going on with him. Hypertension and as importantly undiagnosable aneurism(s). I really wonder if he was undiagnosed diabetic or if diagnosed but kept quiet, untreated.
Curly has so many memorable mannerisms, sight gags, and downright hysterical physical comedy actions that could ONLY be Curly. R.I.P. you were gone before my time, but you will live forever as a comedy legend.
Man these guys were special the way they brought comedy to us 😭😂🤣👏🏼 the best watching reruns in the 70s as a lil kid Curly was in a league of his own with Moe & Larry it was comedy at it’s finest for years so much that greatness is never forgotten ! Thank you 3 Stooge’s for uncontrollable laughter & smiles you brought to so many fans over 75 years + 💯😆
That is so sad. I know all to well of what strokes can do to a love one. My mother passed away from a stroke in 2011 and it was horrible it tore me up. Curly has always been my favorite stooge.
Such a tragedy; I don't think there has ever been a more naturally gifted comedian than Curly! After watching this piece, it's such a shame that Curly's health was not managed properly - he died a young man and could have lived for decades! On a personal note, I've been watching the 'Stooges' since the late 70s and they still make me laugh and give me a sense of comfort.
Love Curly! ❤ It's so tragic how his life ended so early. 💔 That's why it's heartwarming to see his grandson, Brad "Curly G" Server, carrying on his legacy, in his own way on his UA-cam channel along with some friends. Recently Kurt Lamond, Larry Fine's great grandson, has joined them on their weekly livecasts. Just them goofing around unscripted is hilarious. The chemistry is definitely there. 😂
Anybody can do physical slapstick comedy, but very few people can do it right. Curly was a master of physical comedy and had a natural gift for being able to make people laugh. I spent many hours as a kid watching the 3 Stooges on TV and loving every minute of it.
Curly accidentally shot himself in the ankle when he was younger. It didn't heal right and doctors wanted to re-break it to set it right. Curly refused and instead turned to alcohol to deaden the pain.
Curly was an extremely versatile actor, he was playful and silly for the kid in all of us, and also witty and at times a raunchy girl chaser, to make the adults laugh. In every scene he seems to be going all out, to give the audience a laugh, doing whatever it takes to make each of us feel good inside. His older brother Shemp was his real life mentor, who he idolized which is why they had that similar childish impish style. Many comics have tried to copy him, most notably Lou Costello, but none have come close. Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk
I'd say his older brother shemp. The silly noises and the wit. Moe is the least talented of the three brothers. It's easy to be a jerk. We're all capable of doing that!!!.
Loved the Three Stooges from as a child in the fifties to now as a 68 year old in 2022...and yes Curly was my favourite. He's made me laugh 'till it hurts. RIP Curly along with your brothers.
We're happy to know that you love the Three Stooges even today! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and your favorite Stooge. Curly will definitely be missed 😥
Once I cared for a 94 year old who was on the grumpy side. It only took one episode for her to laugh and giggle like a kid. An episode a day changed everything. She regained her health and went back to independent living in a matter of weeks. Her family visited daily to watch the stooges with her. They loved how happy her life was with the stooges in the 90’s reruns.
Fun stuff, thank you so much for sharing your life story. It's true that they don't make comedies like Three Stooges anymore. What other types of videos would you like to see?
Right..my grandpa..born in 1901..had never seen the 3 stooges until the 70s with me, he just worked his whole life so hadn't seen em. He was laughing so hard he nearly fell out of his chair. I found it kinda kewl. We liked watching them together. 😊
@@foresttemple1380 I used to work as a supervisor in long term care and I introduced my team to a chapter on reminiscing therapy. We tried this in activities with positive results. It also worked with granny who was ill from the depression of loving her companion and husband. They made the best laughing medicine for everyone from the Great Depression era through out our generation.
Many years ago, a friend and I went to the cemetery where Curly was laid to rest. Someone had placed pennies on top of his tombstone. They were arranged to spell out his name. I thought that was a nice tribute.
Curly was such a wonderful performer. His gifts to us will remain timeless. There will never be anyone like him again. Gone but but always remembered with love & laughter.
I loved curly so much as a kid and I still love him as an adult a true comedy Icon and genius truly one of a kind there will never be another curly he belongs on the mount Rushmore of the greatest slapstick comedy icons ever
(Jerome) Curly will never be forgotten along with the stooges Moe, Larry , Curly Joe DeRita, Joe Besser , Emil Sitka . These guys opened a door for many actors. One of the finest last film was Hold that Lion in which the brothers , Moe, Shimp ( Sam) and Curly appeared . If I am not mistaken the Howard brothers had their parents as extra's in various scene's in their career at Columbia Pictures . Caomhainn 03/29/2022
I was a young boy in the 1980s and watched my first stooges video rented from a place called bandito video in st.catharines ontario. From that point i was hooked i went to school and imitated curlys legendary woooo wooo wooo and nyuk nyuk nyuk repeatedly to the annoyance of my classmates and teachers alike for many years. I LOVED Curly he was a RIOT. To this day nothing has made me laugh as hard as the three stooges their slapstick comedy is timeless
I love all of the stooges, but Curly was my favorite. When I was a kid he was the favorite of ALL the kids, I think because his schtick was the most childlike; he seemed like one of us let loose to be as cool and goofy as we wanted to be. And like so many comic characters of their era, they were irrepressible. We could use some of that now. Thanks for the excellent little documentary.
My uncle Mousie and my cousin Jack Wolf were members of the Ted Healey Stooges, and that being said, I always thought that although being a one trick pony, Curly was indeed the funniest of them all. Even today he cracks me up. Thanks, Curly, sointely!
I started watching the stooges in 1956 when I was 4 years old. I am now 70 and I am still amused by them. Curly was my favorite but I got a kick out of all of them. I was just hilarious all the time.
Curly was my favorite stooge. He shouldn't have been forced to work when he wasn't his natural comic self .after the first stroke. I'm sure doing those stunts without protection to his head were the circumstances that started the strikes. Too many untreated head concussions.
Curly was the best Stooge, and should have been allowed to recuperate. That said, the hypertension was probably the main contributing factor to his strokes, and the subsequent damage of his first stroke, plus hypertension probably led to his following severe strokes. Each getting progressively worse and causing more damage.
It was Curly and the Stooges who kept working despite doctors' advice to let Curly rest. Their duties at Columbia didn't take up much time at all, it was grueling personal appearance tours where they performed night after night that caused Curly's health to get even worse than it was. It is myth that Harry Cohn "forced" Curly to work.
Mow Larry and Shemp were the first Three Stooges when they started on stage only. When they were contracted for the short films, Shemp did not want to do them because he wanted and did straight acting roles in movies instead. So Curly replaced Shemp in the line up. Then when Curly could not continue, Shemp re entered his original role and replaced Curly. Also, Mow, Shemp and Curly are all brothers. Larry was their friend.
It's true that Curly replaced Shemp when the trio worked for Ted Healy, But it's only after permanently breaking away from Healy and signing with Columbia that Moe, Larry, and Curly became officially known as the Three Stooges. They were never called the Three Stooges when with Healy and that's why Curly IS the original third Stooge of the Three Stooges.
@@radicalross7700 That's very interesting. Thanks for pointing out those facts. One fact I do know for sure is, The Three Stooges always made me laugh, no matter if it was with Curly or Shemp. However, Curly was my favorite.
Curly - wherever you are, just know that YOU were the greatest Stooge ever.......no one came close to you, your memory and talents and be remembered forever. Thank you for all the countless laughs....While a college student in Chicago there was a weekend long Stooge-Fest at the Biograph Theater, (yes the same theater DIllinger was killed leaving). I believe it was 1978 or so.... I attended it and several shorts with you were shown first, then they tried to run one withOUT you....the place went NUTS.....stoping, chanting, throwing things at the screen. They stopped which ever short was playing and then ONLY played the ones YOU starred in.......now that is HIGH PRAISE INDEED!!!!!!!!!
Curly is one if the funniest comedians ever!! He still funny to me and it 2022. I watch them every night and can talk through almost all the shorts. Even the ones with Shemp. There will never be another Curly.
I love all the stooges, but Curly was special. So natural, so authentic..... My go to phenom when I feel bad, he still makes this world a better place. Quite a Privilege. 💗 🐀🐁🐀

Curly was my favorite since the stooge shorts were produced on a higher budget, I didn't really get into Shemp until my mid teens, while I love both stooges I still like Curly the best.
Curly was definitely my favorite he was the funniest of all of them. I still watch many of their short films on tv. No age limits when it watching three stooges I'm 73 years young.
As a child, Curley was my favorite. As I gotten older, I gravitated more towards Shemp and Laurel & Hardy. Still, Curley was a great fit to be a Stooge, and their films age well with the 90th anniversary coming up.
Curly made me laugh more than any of the other stooges. His type of character was so unique and original, it doesn't surprise me that he was a natural comedian.
Thank you for this brief biography of my favorite comedian Curley. I've purchased all DVDs of The Three Stooges. I never stop laughing watching their shows.
Curly was so funny, but my first 3rd Stooge in the Saturday matinees was Shemp. I didn’t see Curly until my parents bought a TV. I like both Curly and Shemp both. It is too bad both of those brothers died way too young.

His excesses of the late 30's - early 40's didn't help (tho it's who he was 🥳🙃), but he was under a lot of stress also with a contentious, short-lived "gold-digger" marriage, and divorce, in 1946. He went downhill rapidly after that. However, his legacy is immortal!
He needed two drugs they didn't have at the time. One a good blood pressure pill and a blood thinner to help prevent strokes. He more than likely could have lived to be in his 70s or 80s before he started having health problems. Some people talk about simpler times but it could be a living nightmare without modern technology.
I enjoyed all of them. It's sad their boss was only thinking of making money and not about their welfare. I bought a collection of their shorts and my children and grandchildren enjoy watching them. They were great at what they did. They were awesome!!!!
Curly was the funniest guy who ever lived. I am 73,and I still watch the stooges. I have seen all of their shorts countless times, practically know them by heart. Curly was one of a kind. I believe most Three Stooges fans would consider him their favorite Stooge. It may not be well known, but Curly did some solo shorts without Moe and Larry. Interesting note, according to Wikipedia, this year (2022) marks the 100th anniversary of the Three Stooges. Granted they worked with Ted Healy from 1922-1934 on Vaudeville and on film before leaving him and going on as a trio. Moe, Larry and Curly split with Healy for the same reasons Shemp left the act in 1932 (Healy's alcoholism and temper) to be replace by Curly.
If ever there was a natural, Curly is the one. He was flawless. When he was in a scene you focused on him regardless of what was going on. Truly a great loss.
Curly was the best. I will be 70 yrs old this year. I remember my dad and I would watch the stooges every afternoon on "Slam Bang Theatre" with Icky Twerp. I think it was a local show in Fort Worth. Most people never heard of it. I met the man that played Ickey Twerp years later and told him about my dad and I watching his show when I was little. He had a couple of apes on the show. One was named Ajax, never met him. Life was good then. All we had to worry about was the bomb. It seems much worse today.

You can see it in his expression and his reaction to the other two stooges. My guess is that several things were going on with him. Hypertension and as importantly undiagnosable aneurism(s). I really wonder if he was undiagnosed diabetic or if diagnosed but kept quiet, untreated.
Curly was always my favorite. Taken so young.
My comedic hero. My Dad and I laughed together. Thank you Curly!
Curly has so many memorable mannerisms, sight gags, and downright hysterical physical comedy actions that could ONLY be Curly. R.I.P. you were gone before my time, but you will live forever as a comedy legend.
Well said, you're a true Curly fan. Thank you for your beautiful message to him. He is badly missed.
Man these guys were special the way they brought comedy to us 😭😂🤣👏🏼 the best watching reruns in the 70s as a lil kid Curly was in a league of his own with Moe & Larry it was comedy at it’s finest for years so much that greatness is never forgotten ! Thank you 3 Stooge’s for uncontrollable laughter & smiles you brought to so many fans over 75 years + 💯😆
Agreed, they were lovable and fun guys, never knew Mr. Curly had a stroke, rest in peace, lovable and funny guys.
Thank you for your message to the Three Stooges! They will be remember for a long time ❣
That is so sad. I know all to well of what strokes can do to a love one. My mother passed away from a stroke in 2011 and it was horrible it tore me up. Curly has always been my favorite stooge.
Thank you for sharing yhour thoughts and your life story. We're happy to know that you love Curly. How old was your mom when she passed away?
Such a tragedy; I don't think there has ever been a more naturally gifted comedian than Curly! After watching this piece, it's such a shame that Curly's health was not managed properly - he died a young man and could have lived for decades! On a personal note, I've been watching the 'Stooges' since the late 70s and they still make me laugh and give me a sense of comfort.
May you rest in piece my friend "curly". Thank you for million laughs. You were a gentle soul then but now you are amongst the angles. Thank you!!!
Beautiful words, thank you for your message for Curly! Which episode of the Three Stooges is the most memorable for you?
Growing up in the '60's and watching reruns of the three Stooges curly was the best may he rest in peace
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the Three Stooges! What other types of videos would you like to see on our channel?
Anybody can do physical slapstick comedy, but very few people can do it right. Curly was a master of physical comedy and had a natural gift for being able to make people laugh. I spent many hours as a kid watching the 3 Stooges on TV and loving every minute of it.
We agree! Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
Curly accidentally shot himself in the ankle when he was younger. It didn't heal right and doctors wanted to re-break it to set it right. Curly refused and instead turned to alcohol to deaden the pain.
Interesting, thank you for sharing this information! What other types of videos would you like to see?
Curly was my favorite but ever time a watch a short I love Shemp as well possibly knowing of Curly trouble
Yes indeed. Curly was definitely one of kind. So sad that he died so young.
We agree! Thank you for watching our content. May Curly find peace 😢
We strongly concur! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for watching our content. Who do you think comes close to Curly?
I'd say his older brother shemp. The silly noises and the wit. Moe is the least talented of the three brothers. It's easy to be a jerk. We're all capable of doing that!!!.
A Genius in his way! He did have MANY sides to him!
I still love seeing curly in the old clips. Thanx for sharing this. Rip curly. I'll never forget you.
You're very much welcome! We're glad to know that you love our video. May Curly find peace 🙏
I’m happy to hear you and your grandfather made wonderful memories together with laughter before his generation passed. The 3 stooges can never be replicated. They made the best laughing medicine for everyone from the Great Depression era through out our generation.
Truly laughter is the best medicine!😅
Many years ago, a friend and I went to the cemetery where Curly was laid to rest. Someone had placed pennies on top of his tombstone. They were arranged to spell out his name. I thought that was a nice tribute.
Curly was such a wonderful performer. His gifts to us will remain timeless. There will never be anyone like him again. Gone but but always remembered with love & laughter.
Well said, we agree! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of videos would you like to see?
I loved curly so much as a kid and I still love him as an adult a true comedy Icon and genius truly one of a kind there will never be another curly he belongs on the mount Rushmore of the greatest slapstick comedy icons ever
Curly was the best comedian of all time in all categories. What an icon and I wish he could have lived.
Same
We wish the same too. Curly left us too soon! What episode of The Three Stooges appealed to you the most?
Love them all. Wish they were still here.
Us too! We love the Three Stooges. Who is your favorite Stooge?
@@FactsVerse I actually don't have a favorite. They all are great., even Shemp.

Curly was one of my favorite comedians. He was a genius in comedy. Curly you are sorely missed and fondly remembered
Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of videos would you like to see?
I loved Curly. He was my favorite. I loved all the Stooges. They do not make shows like this any more and I miss that.
True, there was something about the Three Stooges that can't be remade in today's time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊
We're glad to know that you're still watching the Three Stooges! Which episode is your favorite?
I loved Curly, but Shemp was my favorite. He had perfect timing.
Curly was my favorite stooge. He shouldn't have been forced to work when he wasn't his natural comic self .after the first stroke. I'm sure doing those stunts without protection to his head were the circumstances that started the strikes. Too many untreated head concussions.
We agree. Curly should have given time to recover. Is Curly your favorite Stooge?
There was no evidence of concussions. His issues were hypertension and obesity.
Some of my favorite Curly moments -- 16:23 into "Dizzy Doctors", and 5:57 into "Tassels in the Air".
Thank you for sharing your favorite Curly moments. We'll watch it! Stay safe 😁
People would come up to him and punch his eyes hit him on the head, and other things from their movies. He really suffered every day.
By far He was my Favorite! Thanks for all the wonderful memories, great Fun. RIP
We're glad to know that you love Curly. May he find peace ♥
Thank you for your beautiful message to Curly. Wherever he is right now, he will be smiling 💗
we dont care about ur colege stuck up boy
Curly is one if the funniest comedians ever!! He still funny to me and it 2022. I watch them every night and can talk through almost all the shorts. Even the ones with Shemp. There will never be another Curly.
I love all the stooges, but Curly was special.
So natural, so authentic.....
My go to phenom when I feel bad, he still makes this world a better place.
Quite a Privilege.
💗

I loved them all. I am so saddened to hear about the passing. Curly my respects to all you brought to our enjoyments. Thank you, sir. With great gratitude. Namaste Curly,
Thank you for your beautiful message to Curly! He was really something else. May he find peace 🙏
Curly was my favorite since the stooge shorts were produced on a higher budget, I didn't really get into Shemp until my mid teens, while I love both stooges I still like Curly the best.
Curly was my favourite stooge an his presence was very much missed in the later shorts. He was taken from us way too soon.
We strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of videos would you like to see?
He was the best .no body can replace him ever . Rest in peace
Very complex man. He lived hard. Effin love Jerome. My favorite comedian of all time, the most influential comic who ever lived.
I loved those actors . Curly died so young .
The Stooges were the best! Sadly, Curly passed away young. Who is your favorite Stooge?
Curly was definitely my favorite he was the funniest of all of them. I still watch many of their short films on tv. No age limits when it watching three stooges I'm 73 years young.
We're a big fan of Curly too. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
Thank you Stooges for all the laughter, for making all our lives brighter...
Thank you for your message to the Three Stooges! ♥
As a child, Curley was my favorite. As I gotten older, I gravitated more towards Shemp and Laurel & Hardy. Still, Curley was a great fit to be a Stooge, and their films age well with the 90th anniversary coming up.
We're glad to know that you love Curly! Which episode of the Stooges appealed to you the most?
Curly made me laugh more than any of the other stooges. His type of character was so unique and original, it doesn't surprise me that he was a natural comedian.

Thank you for this brief biography of my favorite comedian Curley. I've purchased all DVDs of The Three Stooges.
I never stop laughing watching their shows.

Curly was so funny, but my first 3rd Stooge in the Saturday matinees was Shemp. I didn’t see Curly until my parents bought a TV. I like both Curly and Shemp both. It is too bad both of those brothers died way too young.

Yep, still watch em after 60yrs.!
Glad to know that you're still watching them after 60 years! Which episode is your favorite?
@@FactsVerse Man that's a tough one. The dollar bet like trading places, Beer drivers "How can ya shoot golfs without guns?" have to be at the top of my list. How bout yours?
When I was a kid back in the 1970's I would sit and watch the soap opera General Hospital just because the Three Stooges came on after it and I didn't want to risk missing the Stooges. I grew to actually like General Hospital but nothing like how I love the Stooges.
Yeah, but WHY did Curlys health continue to detriorate? What was IT?... The cause we know now ...that we didn't know the?. Most importantly, what CAN we do differently TODAY to prevent it?
they drank and smoked like we all do not all. healthcare barely existed and working back then was heartless

Awesome video!!!! Been a three stooges fan my whole life!
I enjoyed all of them. It's sad their boss was only thinking of making money and not about their welfare. I bought a collection of their shorts and my children and grandchildren enjoy watching them. They were great at what they did. They were awesome!!!!
I find it sad that a jew would treat a fellow jew with such blatant disregard. It's always money first no matter what 🤫🤔
Well said! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of videos would you like to see?
Curly was the funniest guy who ever lived. I am 73,and I still watch the stooges. I have seen all of their shorts countless times, practically know them by heart. I often think how funny Curly would be in todays world with out the puritanical censorship that they had to deal with back when they filmed their shorts.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of Curly. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Who comes in at second place?
@@FactsVerse Good Question. All of the stooges were funny in their own way. Curly was #1, but trying to rank the rest is difficult. Besser and the other guy,Curly Joe don’t count.

Curly was always my favorite. I had no idea how tragic his life was, and that makes me sad for him.
I just loved that guy. He always makes me laugh. Still does. A true comedian.
Thank you for your beautiful message to Curly. He passed away too early. May he find peace 😢
This brought tears to my eyes ! 💙✌🙏
Yes, Curly lived a hard life. He will be forever missed.
I had no idea about curly. I'm so glad I saw this.

Well Harry Cohn DID NOT force Curly to work, that's a myth - other than that the video was good.
If ever there was a natural, Curly is the one. He was flawless. When he was in a scene you focused on him regardless of what was going on. Truly a great loss.
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. What other types of video would you like to see?
Curly was the best. I will be 70 yrs old this year. I remember my dad and I would watch the stooges every afternoon on
"Slam Bang Theatre" with Icky Twerp.
We're glad to know that you love Curly! Also, thank you for sharing your life story. The comedy of the Three Stooges cannot be recreated today 👍
