Taj also has long history not just the story you said, the most important one is it was built by 'Jemsetji Tata' the pride of India. He decided to open the hotel after an incident involving racial discrimination at the Watson's Hotel in Mumbai, where he was refused entry as the hotel permitted only Europeans. Hotels that accepted only European guests were very common across British India. In his hotel, everyone would be allowed it didn't discriminate based on ethnicity/race.
His eyes’ look is as pure and profound. This shows how good his acting is. When he acts it’s innate. It’s not like he’s acting, he’s the character himself. The character doesn’t posses him, he posses the character.
I have been to Mumbai, India; several times. The first time in March 2015 and heard about 26/11. I asked questions about what happened and slowly people began to describe the horror of the 3 long days and nights of terror. The people were protected by God, rather than suffering from more devastation and death. Everyone worked to help each other and save each other, from absolute terror of those young men, who were suppose to kill many people. Instead, the people stayed together and worked to help each other escape and live. There were times when the terrorist’s were walking the halls of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, while women were quite having babies. It is amazing how many people were saved from death and destruction. After sight seeing and traveling around to the places, where much terror was inflicted upon the city, I am amazed at the residency of the people of Mumbai. I have much appreciation and respect for what they experienced. Yet, I also do not like the Pakistani’s and dislike their hatred of Indian’s. How sad!
The 3 of you and others made an important terrifying scary memorable film that will stay with me forever. It was one of the few times that I gave a perfect score to a film. Dev you continue to be one of my favorite actors and I look forward to your future work.
Saw this Film tonight. It was incredible. I attended a screening where the director was there with Jason isaacs. What was funny was one of the actors who was one of the terrorists also showed up and when the director introduced him, everyone clapped and cheered. It was so weird.😂
A friend of mine who is an actress was actually there (at one of the Hotels). Her agent in Australia (as the interiors were filmed in South Australia) put her forward for the part of the nanny. She declined it entirely. Too close to home.
Just got done watching my God bruh this is probably one of the most intense movies I’ve ever seen got choked up at the end 🥺 very sad hay this happened in real life thank God everyday you wake up it’s a gift
I was working there 2yrs before 26/11 2yrs after that, it was dastardly act by terrorists and how v as a country not ready for it, in Modiji time no one would dare, also it was great and kudos on the part of Mr. Ratan Tata to get it back standing with lot better amenities
The role of Indian marine commandos who reached there in 2 hours at 12 o clock at night and rescued about 150 people from ground floor & entire Anti terrorist squad of Mumbai police who acted immediately within few minutes but sadly ambushed & killed by these terrorists have not been shown in this movie, if u wanna watch thier contribution consider watching other movies made on this attack. Thank you 😊
Nazanin Boniadi is such a good actress. She blew me away in the...(SPOILERS) In the scene where she had the gun at her head. The guy shot twice at the wall to threaten her and her reaction was unbelievably real I shivered and FELT the tension as if it was me in that spot and me that woman character. She drew up two quick breaths while saying the prayer after these two shots and that just resonated perfectly to what her character was thinking as she prayed. What a strong character she portrayed... amazing. Should be included and nominated for Oscar just for that scene. To become the first of her kind/background. I wish I can see that one part repeatedly again. Sad that not anyone sees these little things :( I didn’t think she was that good until she revealed her abilities at the end. I think everyone could feel that too... and when she cried hugging her baby’s toys thinking he was dead (it was a BOY after all lol) it was heart breaking and very convincingly real. Sorry talked too much! I LOVE film analysis...
On a side note- I was wondering where have I seen Nazanin previously ? Guess where - She is Nora from the TV series - How I met your Mother series ! Amazing actress :) Hope this movie is sucessfull..
This movie is freaking intense. The actors playing terrorists are so FUCKING good that you hate them to hell and back. Its definitely not for everyone.
Nobody knew how many terrorist were there or where they were or who were they. Taj hotel wasn't the only place that was attack. They started by simultaneously attacking 5 crowded places then they moved on to attack couple of hospitals. Authorities primarily estimated there to be 50+ heavily armed terrorists. Police were spread thin throughout city to guard every single public place. Police managed to secure other places within few hours, but there were far too many hostages in Taj hotel for police to directly swarm in. Special forces arrived from Delhi which is 1500 kms away. They reached Mumbai in 4 to 5 hours from first attack and managed secure Taj in 2½ hours. Which is quite reasonable when you consider the lack of intel.
It was a deliberate choice by the director to separate the actors playing the terrorists and the rest of the cast after the first day of shooting (of the film)
I'm an Indian and one thing that I want to tell the world is that our Congress Government was majorly responsible for 26/11 attacks . This sort of attack should never occur under BJP 's rule now. If anything does happen the attackers get a befitting reply by Modi.
I watched the movie tonight in the cinema. It was an amazing movie and they played their role very well. But at the end Zara got saved luckily just because of those Salah verses she read.
Hotel Mumbai cast and crew members there is more than terrorism poverty in india we are normal people we are happy sad angry care for each other please show that part "hollywood" why are casting all non Indian actors which is happening in India In which all effected are Indians
I ll not watch this movie because they didn't mention pakistan in this movie. When they made zero dark thirty they mentioned and shoot in pakistan. This is really bad thing.

Now that our movies have become more inclusive and multicultural we’d like to see more. I hope one day they’ll do a movie about this event too.
This is very revealing, haven't heard about it before.
In the movie, there's a scene that the staff let other people in to the hotel even tho there's a gun shooting going on outside. That makes sense!
Knowing the fact that this movie was rated 9.1 by the IMDb really blew my mind. Can't wait to watch this movie!
7.2
Just watched it. It’s incredibly gripping! 😳😳
Go see it. Saw it tonight, and it was amazing.
9.7 for me
9.9 for me what a movie And the hotel staff Unreal heroes

The teaser is intriguing. And given that it is inspired by true events, I think the movie is going to be an emotional rollercoaster .
All the comments claiming that the movie doesn't mention that the terrorists are from Pakistan are untrue. its stated at the end of the film in text.
It would be interesting to hear an interview with the men playing the terrorists.

this movie is sooooo good and srsly they got the best actors and actresses
Iranian Naznin cleverly calls them gunmen instead of terrorists ! Shame on you
True.

Really weird. This film is soooo PC it refused to even say these terrorists came from Pakistan.
Ben smith I don’t see how that’s PC. Where they were from is irrelevant.
The movie literally said that the terrorists were from pakistan and that the masterminds behind the attack still walk free.
This isn't even remotely true. The movie explicitly states that.
This movie is freaking intense. The actors playing terrorists are so FUCKING good that you hate them to hell and back. Its definitely not for everyone.
Takes 12 hours or so for special forces to retake the hotel? That's scary that a city as large as Mumbai has that kind of response time.
Nobody knew how many terrorist were there or where they were or who were they. Taj hotel wasn't the only place that was attack. As all this happened the world remained silent and is still silent.
