Brings back memories of many a happy times of journeys on the DLR with my daughter who stayed in Greenwich for 2 years and then Stratford for another 2 years.
If the train stops folks can walk unaided along the walkways in an emergency to the nearest emergency exit. Obviously that's not an issue on the tube as you can't get out except a long the actual rails through the front of the train with the aid of lots of staff

Why are there lights in the tunnels? The Tube does not. Good video. It saves a 200 mile trip to London to ride on the DLR.
