I love how this shows they both understand the emotional turmoil they put everyone through, but that they also did it with the best intentions and love for everyone in their lives. I feel like everyone either demonizes them or demonizes every single cat around them without realizing that yes, they hurt the three and Bramble, but they didn’t do it to be deceitful-they did it for each other. I also love how it shows there’s still some hurt there-hurt for Leafpool Squilf gets to raise her kits, and hurt on Squilf’s end she had to make up for Leaf’s own decisions, but that they still loved each other and wouldn’t change a thing. Both their character arcs through the PO3 and OOTS has so many underlying and unaddressed emotions, and out of the hundreds, maybe thousands, of animations about each character, this is the first one I’ve seen that actually manages to display all the different emotions of the sisters, the guilt, the love, the fear, the betrayal, the happiness, and the self doubt.

Squirrelflight and Leafpool are easily the most underrated sibling pair in the entirety of Warrior Cats, and nothing can change my mind. With so much chaos in their life, and kin turning against kin, their relationship was the only one to stay solid. They protected each other and they both made sacrifices to keep the other safe. The fandom tends to focus on the siblings that had the most drama, so seeing Leafpool and Squirrelflight pop up in my recommendations was a nice change of pace. Also, can we just talk about your art style??? Omg, the way you draw these kitties is so delicious, I can't stop rewatching. Black and white is also really hard to draw, and you completely nailed it. Absolutely amazing work! I feel like the community is sleeping on the amazing sisterly bond these two have. And I just know anyone who says Squilf is unforgivable or evil for what she did here doesn’t have sisters. I empathize with Squilfs decision here so much, I would do that for one of my sisters in a heartbeat.

Maybe I'm reading too far into it but each time the line 'your favorite crime' plays it shows different scenes and I can't help but take it almost literally in the manner that the 'crimes' were the way they had hurt people- like with Leaf dragging Squilf into this with her (tho Squilf did agree obvi but u get my point) and then showing her trying to protect Squilf at the gathering- and then leaf with starclan, and how they just ROYALLY fucked her over- and then with holly and leaf, how holly nearly killed her mom and obvi terrified leaf, and finally ending with 'cause you were mine' with leaf at the cave-in and you really do get the feeling, just from the drawings alone, that she doesn't regret a thing... ANYWAY this has immediately become one of my FAVORITE wc pmvs-

Leafpool and squilf sacrificed so so so much for the three. I feel like Leafpool & Squrrielflight’s story doesn’t really make sense to me. Especially when Starclan encouraged Leafpool to leave TC with Crowfeather and then get mad at her for having kits? Like, srsly, make it make sense! She’s not the first medicine cat to have kits or to even the first to fall in love with another cat from a different clan. I just don’t like how they did Leafpool so dirty honestly.
