I love that he wrote this for his daughter as an amazing father, and it’s purity of love fits so hand in hand with so many testimonies. I don’t believe, but I love that other do!
It’s not “Eric Clapton and Derek & The Dominos” it’s just Derek & The Dominos, Eric was part of that band. And Eric did not write this alone. Jim Gordon Composed the piano Exit and Bobby Whitlock and Eric Clapton wrote the lyrics and composed the rest of the music.
In the real song when he hits the E at 45 seconds, he also hits the A flat at the exact same time and everyone seems to miss that, including the tutorials. Makes it sound a little sloppy but I like it. Not sure if it was done on purpose but I prefer it.😊
When playing this song do you have to play that lower c, e, f, etc. in the left hand, or can you just play the higher note in the left. Because that mix in rhythm in the left hand is difficult to get down and idk how essential it is to the overall sound of the song. Anybody know?
I’m struggling with the left hand as well and trying to simplify the rhythm by rocking back and forth on the octaves. I just started learning this a few days ago so it hasn’t clicked yet. Wondering how you’re making out??
@@charliemurphy97 I ended up really simplifying the left hand. So when the right hand goes “GC, GC, GC” my left hand goes “CC,_, C”. I do that same rhythm for the E’s and the GCE’s. On the last E’s and f’s I hit EE with ACG, FF with ACF, nothing with the second ACF, and then I Hit a F ( going back and forth between low and high) in between ACF and ACE, ACE and ACD, and ACD and AC if that makes sense. Basically I just played around with different sounds and settled on something that’s simpler but still sounds good
Not Clapton. This part of Layla was written by drummer Jim Gordon (and played by Bobby Whitlock), and the rumor is that Gordon stole this from his girlfriend at the time, Rita Coolidge.
Thank you so much! I’ll try to explain my process the best I can, but it may be hard to understand. So I make the music in a DAW software called FL Studio, and turn that into MIDI. I then take that MIDI and put it into Synthesia, which makes the video, then a sheet music software, which takes the MIDI notes and tries to turn it to sheet music. So I’m not really the one creating the sheet music notes.
@@xanderpatterson5479 Yeah it really comes in handy. Only downside is that it makes me not want to learn sheet music. I can do lots with my hands, but I just can’t read the sheets for music as advanced as my hands can play lol.
Been trying to learn this in the C# scale, using sheets, but it's hard with all those black keys, and those rhythms are challenging. Instead, I'm going to learn it in this C key, along with your synth 'tube, then try transposing it to C#. C# just sounds better.
Yeah I know what you mean. Since the song is kinda sharp (at least i'm pretty sure it's sharp and not flat), I decided to put it in C, but I was debating C#. Also I figured C would be easier for newer piano players, but again, I see where you're coming from.
