So I fell asleep with my heaphones on while SGS playlist was playing and the loud nun sound effect woke me up. Legitimately one of the most frightening moment of my life, took me a good few seconds to figure out what the hell was going on.
Just giving my vote to the "filter made me physically ill" my poor eyes are hurty.
It does get better when they go indoors tho.
I really wish they went for the PSX mode with CRT off

On a serious note--I was after the VHS era--how often would that visual glitch pop up? Do people who have a problem with it in this video not be able to watch anything on VHS without their troubles?
@@kubli365 VHS glitches happened more with tapes worn after multiple re-recordings on the same tape. since recording on the same piece of tape degraded it a little bit each time. new tapes rarely had any of those

This NEEDS to be animated, especially the entire minute from 15:00-16:00 where the boys Ghost Adventure-style bro out about their nun jokes and they're literally in the middle of a round of high-fives when the nun shows up and fucking kills them. It was so good. It was like a real nun showing up to punish some boys fucking around at school. God damn.

This was a pretty weird episode of Alien Isolation.
I dunno, we've got a sketchy radar, lots of hiding, squealing for life on sight of the enemy, all we need is some Napoleon Dynamite bits and the occasional musical and I feel like we're close.
I am not entirely sure why but it always cracks me up when Jirard does his Ezio impression.
Can't relate. It _RUINED_ the Little Nightmares playthrough and my face fell when I heard the word assassination in this video, I knew what was coming.

This game ticks a lot of the bad horror game boxes, but it also ticks a lot of the good ones too. I honestly don't know how to feel about it.
The over the top filters and possibly youtube compression on top of it made this basically a podcast to listen in the background.
Wish you had stuck to PSX without CRT.

As a lover of puppet combo and long SGS, I approve of this message. Super coincidence that I finished watching John wolfe play this last night, and now SGS releases an HOUR LONG video the day after! Even though it’s not exactly a recent game. Also, I came home relatively close to upload time, and my iPad opened it by itself. Divine intervention.

Something about janky, low-poly, pixelated environments... and characters, just makes things more horrifying.
A perfectly rendered world, you can appreciate for it's art, you can break it down, and enjoy the way it's put together. This.... you almost don't want to look at the world because it's so offensive in a modern way, it's closer to a stage play, where the idea of whatever it is, is more powerful than the actual look.
I support this dev on Patreon, so my name is always in the credits, so it's always crazy to see my name but disapointing to never hear it.

@@Raccido Both the VHS static and the color distortion are optional the PSX with both off would be a more 'pure' experience akin to playing an old ps1 or early ps2 game.
@@jonnydude69 I saw them use that and it's definitely way better than VHS which is just nauseating. I still think it would be better in general with a no-filter option.

I wouldn’t have any problem with this...but it seems as though ALL of Puppet Combo’s games are so unbearably loud that it’s well past it being scary to it just be very annoying. I can look past the graphics and some game mechanic problems but something about the motion in which the character moves is also nauseating...it has potential and this is an improvement from earlier games, as you at least have a chance to get away from the nun and as soon as she sees you it’s not a situation where you know you’re absolutely done for no matter what.
I love this format of SGS, it's so entertaining to watch! Especially the longer episodes. Keep it up guys! I never miss an episode.

That high pitched squeal throughout gave me a headache. I have no idea how you guys could play with it going off every 20-30 seconds.

@@Armateras oh, I know. I quit watching/listening about 5 minutes in (I gave it that long because I thought just MAYBE the squeal would go away). I guess some people just don't have the ability to hear those high pitched squeals. That or they are better than me, and can deal with it much better!

This person needs to clean the head on their VCR, lol. This VHS effect is killing eyes, it is painful to look at. What were the developers thinking? Edit: Oh nvm, there are options to turn off the CRT filter and VHS filter, it's a shame that SGS didn't.
VHS tapes really don't look that bad unless you have like major tracking issues and other problems. It's weird when Devs massively over exaggerate visual noise and make it look far worse than actual VHS.
The game is styled like a cult exploitation horror film. As someone who is into those kinda movies, I've got many a tape in the past that looks as bad as if not worse than this.
