Rabbinic Judaism is based on the Torah - as interpreted and sometimes embellished (!) by the sages through the ages. The Talmud is like a commentary on Torah, as we Christians have commentaries on all of Scripture; the Tanakh and the Brith Hadasha. The heart of our faith is not formularies, it is a relationship with the living G-d by faith, through heartfelt repentance. So the great figures of the Torah all related to HaShem not primarily through the observance of Law(s) but obedience to the voice of HaShem. Thus Abraham obeyed, Isaac obeyed, Jacob obeyed and so on. They had a living faith in G-d. The divine spark in man in obedience and fellowship with the Divine, the G-d of Israel..

    • @el_killorcure
      @el_killorcure 4 роки тому

      Same for the Orthodox Church.
However Jesus did give Peter the power to bind and unbind, which is to make oral law and judgements, hence traditions.
None of which contradict the Gospel nor Acts nor Letters nor Revelations last time I checked.
In fact the papal infallibility is predicated on all popes being infallible, thus the current one cannot contradict previous ones, thus whatever they say or instruct must be interpreted and applied in accordance with all the previous teachings of all the previous popes, which has kept the Churches free from dogmatic error even from the likes of say the Borgia...

Around 6:59 where they are talking about the mixed multitude converting and being under rabbis traditions....how if that different than a Christian being under their church traditions? Each denomination has their own along with multiple Christian books that they use a a “how to manual”.. each side has there own traditions and sometimes put them above the written word and Torah as the foundation.

They are suppose to keep the laws of the court as the OT states. The court is the judges or 70 elders under Moses. But they're not suppose to go against core law like though shall not kill or lying is ok. There is no more court though as the court had ordination
      Many traditions shouldn't be binding.
The same is true in Christianity kinda. The church or Jesus gave the apostles power to make law...of course again not going against tradition. Some churches believe that this can't be done today some churches like Catholic n orthodox say the bishops can do this etc

    A WORD FROM GOD
    I Thirst for You
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock… (Rev. 3, 20)
It is true. I stand at the door of your heart, day and night. Even when you are not listening, even when you doubt it could be Me, I am there. I await even the smallest sign of your response, even the least whispered invitation that will allow Me to enter.
And I want you to know that whenever you invite Me, I do come - always, without fail. Silent and unseen I come, but with infinite power and love, and bringing the many gifts of My Spirit. I come with My mercy, with My desire to forgive and heal you, and with a love for you beyond your comprehension - a love every bit as great as the love I have received from the Father ("As much as the Father has loved me, I have loved you…" (Jn. 15:10) I come - longing to console you and give you strength, to lift you up and bind all your wounds. I bring you My light, to dispel your darkness and all your doubts. I come with My power, that I might carry you and all your burdens; with My grace, to touch your heart and transform your life; and My peace I give to still your soul.
I know you through and through. I know everything about you. The very hairs of your head I have numbered. Nothing in your life is unimportant to Me. I have followed you through the years, and I have always loved you - even in your wanderings. I know every one of your problems. I know your needs and your worries. And yes, I know all your sins. But I tell you again that I love you - not for what you have or haven’t done - I love you for you, for the beauty and dignity My Father gave you by creating you in His own image. It is a dignity you have often forgotten, a beauty you have tarnished by sin. But I love you as you are, and I have shed My Blood to win you back. If you only ask Me with faith, My grace will touch all that needs changing in your life, and I will give you the strength to free yourself from sin and all its destructive power.
I know what is in your heart - I know your loneliness and all your hurts - the rejections, the judgments, the humiliations, I carried it all before you. And I carried it all for you, so you might share My strength and victory. I know especially your need for love - how you are thirsting to be loved and cherished. But how often have you thirsted in vain, by seeking that love selfishly, striving to fill the emptiness inside you with passing pleasures - with the even greater emptiness of sin. Do you thirst for love? "Come to Me all you who thirst…" (Jn. 7: 37). I will satisfy you and fill you. Do you thirst to be cherished? I cherish you more than you can imagine - to the point of dying on a cross for you.
I Thirst for You. Yes, that is the only way to even begin to describe My love for you. I THIRST FOR YOU. I thirst to love you and to be loved by you - that is how precious you are to Me. I THIRST FOR YOU. Come to Me, and I will fill your heart and heal your wounds. I will make you a new creation, and give you peace, even in all your trials I THIRST FOR YOU. You must never doubt My mercy, My acceptance of you, My desire to forgive, My longing to bless you and live My life in you. I THIRST FOR YOU. If you feel unimportant in the eyes of the world, that matters not at all. For Me, there is no one any more important in the entire world than you. I THIRST FOR YOU. Open to Me, come to Me, thirst for Me, give me your life - and I will prove to you how important you are to My Heart.
Don’t you realize that My Father already has a perfect plan to transform your life, beginning from this moment? Trust in Me. Ask Me every day to enter and take charge of your life. - and I will. I promise you before My Father in heaven that I will work miracles in your life. Why would I do this? Because I THIRST FOR YOU. All I ask of you is that you entrust yourself to Me completely. I will do all the rest.
Even now I behold the place My Father has prepared for you in My Kingdom. Remember that you are a pilgrim in this life, on a journey home. Sin can never satisfy you, or bring the peace you seek. All that you have sought outside of Me has only left you more empty, so do not cling to the things of this life. Above all, do not run from Me when you fall. Come to Me without delay. When you give Me your sins, you gave Me the joy of being your Savior. There is nothing I cannot forgive and heal; so come now, and unburden your soul.
No matter how far you may wander, no matter how often you forget Me, no matter how many crosses you may bear in this life; there is one thing I want you to always remember, one thing that will never change. I THIRST FOR YOU - just as you are. You don’t need to change to believe in My love, for it will be your belief in My love that will change you. You forget Me, and yet I am seeking you every moment of the day - standing at the door of your heart and knocking. Do you find this hard to believe? Then look at the cross, look at My Heart that was pierced for you. Have you not understood My cross? Then listen again to the words I spoke there - for they tell you clearly why I endured all this for you: "I THIRST…"(Jn 19: 28). Yes, I thirst for you - as the rest of the psalm - verse I was praying says of Me: "I looked for love, and I found none…" (Ps. 69: 20). All your life I have been looking for your love - I have never stopped seeking to love you and be loved by you. You have tried many other things in your search for happiness; why not try opening your heart to Me, right now, more than you ever have before.
Whenever you do open the door of your heart, whenever you come close enough, you will hear Me say to you again and again, not in mere human words but in spirit. "No matter what you have done, I love you for your own sake Come to Me with your misery and your sins, with your troubles and needs, and with all your longing to be loved. I stand at the door of your heart and knock. Open to Me, for I THIRST FOR YOU…

If I desire to love God with all my heart and soul and strength, why would I be happy with just knowing God as a saved believer? Would I not, want more and more of Him? Wouldn't I enjoy everytime lighting the Shabbat candles thinking I know who the light of world is? Yeshua/Jesus! Wouldn't I crave his presence in the daily prayers and on Shabbat prayers. Yeshua prayed these prayers and then added more. As a gentile believer I want to shed my catholic/charismatic ways from pagan roots for jewish ones that God commanded.
I see just as many churches putting man made laws on believers and rewriting the bible to suit their needs more than rabbinic teachings from old. Like not drinking wine or needing to attend all the services in the week if you want membership or handing over your tax return in order for them to calculate your tithe! Ham on Easter and the reason for the season on December 25, passing the basket are man made traditions too. If the Holy Spirit lives in me to help me live a righteous life and love God more, than why is it bad if I want to light candles on the Shabbat or make matzah ball soup or clean out the yeast on Passover? It isn't!

Rabban Gamaliel said if the Jesus movement known as Netzarim in Hebrew came to nothing then it was not from the Lord. They officially ended in 135 ce with the 15th and last Paqid leaving no successor and disappeared from history in 333 ce. I agree about his disposition and skills as an orator. It's important to note that- while he is a nice guy and brings up some ideas that challenge (some of us) to understand our position better and seek the Lord to become better at bringing the message of Salvation to Israel and the Nations, he is also very much an active countermissionary who seeks to undermine the message of this Gospel- that so many have suffered to advance. In the end- I pray for Meza and others who work against Jesus, that they will come to know and love the one whom they have bitterly worked against. I completely hear him indicate that he doesn't do this and that he only wishes to advance people coming into Israel- but I've listened to many hours of his and other countermissionary outreach videos (to better equip myself) and I have heard his message which completely wishes to undermine the validity of our faith. In the end- the truth of the Gospel is self evident and we have no reason not to engage countermissionary work- in fact we're called to do so. In Love. But, we must be wise in our efforts! I enjoyed this discussion/video and may suggest to @askdrbrown that they could have cut out the webpage plug at the end. There are plenty of former believers who are now working against the Gospel because they were weak in their faith and were turned out by outreach efforts just like this one. Much love to any and all who are reading this!

@@@RestoreWithDavidCMcGuire Exactly brother. I know you and you have the ability to engage opposition with truth and love. The real problem is for those who are at risk of apostasy.
Many who once had a love for the purity of Jesus are being turned out to follow after "Religious" doctrines because those doctrines present themselves as intellectual and an option to what they perceive to error on the side of "men" within Christianity. While I can summarize and even agree with many of these concerns- I don't look to men- you and I look to Jesus and this is how we stay on course. Some who are weaker in Faithfulness turn to other sources such as Rabbinic Judaism as an option.
John the Revelator warned as the church of Ephesus ch 2
"I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place"
May God continue to Bless you in your outreach to Jew and Gentile, my friend!

I realise many on here won't agree with this, but for those who are converting to Messianic Judaism away from Church, this Rabbi kind of nailed it that conversion is now over-politicised and no one can stop you covenanting with G-d. This was a liberating statement as so many Rabbis say the exact opposite and absolutely ridicule Messianic believers. Again, Christians will think this is insane, but I know there are others on here to are observing Torah for the first time and I want to reiterate his sentiment that you do not need to 'go orthodox' to be Jewish, you need to do that (currently) to make Aliyah and move to Isra'el that way. Hope this is useful to someone.
For those triggered by this statement, forgive me, but there are so many people coming away from the Church and observing Torah in a real way and they are born again, spirit-filled people. Its just good to be aware that there are different opinions on biblical interpretation out there and we should all be tolerant of each other's views. Have a nice day.

Exodus 18:17-26 is where Moses establishes the Sanhedrin from his father-in-law's suggestion because it was too much for Moses to handle because he was the sole teacher and interpreter of the Torah, but this authority was given to the Sanhedrin which is the 70 elders mentioned in Exodus 24:1. Moreover today from the Karaites there isn't a rival Sanhedrin, nor a rival temple.

Why is it a binary? Do the commanded tefilah and pray more yourself.

If this Rabbi is all about following the Torah and as he says the Torah is truth then why isn't he sacrificing as Torah says he should?

Sacrifices, according to Torah, can only be legitimately offered in one designated place, the Temple. As long as there's no Temple, no acceptable sacrifice can be made.
Sacrifices, according to Torah, can only be offered by verified sons of Aaron, the ordained priests. The genealogical records were burnt with the Temple in 70 AD, so no authentic priests to offer the appointed sacrifices in the appointed place, the Temple. So, that part of Torah is rightly suspended until all regulations that govern its observance is met.

lola sobande it’s actually a sign from God that the Messiah has come and in with the new covenant. It’s a sign of the rejection of the true Sacrificial lamb

@@Eman1900O I concur. Acceptable Sacrificing is impossible because sacrifices are obsolete.

lola sobande you said the sacrifices are suspended, suggesting they will come back and that they will be legitimate. Hebrews 10 says that in the new covenant the sacrifices for sin are no longer necessary. The only way to be part of the new covenant is to believe in Jesus. Sacrifices are clearly a big part of the Torah and are commandments (for the first covenant). Therefore, a believe in Jesus should never preach Torah because Torah is not bits and pieces of it but the whole thing. The Torah is gone forever. And of course I didn’t say all commandments were gone forever, FYI.
