I've loved Shandling since I was a child in the 80's, but I do have to recognize that he did do a lot of the same jokes. He even repeated jokes from his early/mid-80's jokes in his 91 special just before Larry Sanders. I'm not dumbing him down at all. His jokes and delivery were so fucking good, I could hear him tell the same joke multiple times, and will always be funny! Garry Shandling. One of the funniest comedians in history!! I'll always miss that man's humor...
Yeah Gary was clean in his standup . A lot of his stuff wasn’t really that good , but it was his delivery that could save the worst of jokes. Very talented man . When you put his stand up next to his work writing for Sanford & Son , you realize how far he could go in either direction . Top notch performer with class .
Swanand Kulkarni - He was 66 when he died, really not very old. He should have reasonably had another 15 or 20 more good years remaining. Sadly, from the accounts I read when he died, Johnny Carson DID die old and alone; 80 yrs old, with Emphysema, and estranged from his wife for several years. He was apparently living alone on his yacht while wife #4 was living in the mansion. He apparently was not an easy man to live with.
@@bg104 If you watch the American Masters ep. @ Johnny Carson, Shandling shows up at the end. With tears in his eyes & sitting at a place in Malibu he looks out over the water & says he was right here when he found out Johnny had died. Could see his house from where he was sitting.
Ok im confused. He states his parents are in the audience, and says he has wonderful parents especially his mother. Yet i just red a story about how his mother was a monster of a woman.
Have you heard Rodney Dangerfield talking about his wife or Phyllis Diller talking about her husband Fang? They must have been awful people eh? Good grief!!
I miss him. Glad we have these vids. Larry Sanders is the greatest spoof on late night talk shows.
Larry Sanders still holds up as one of the best shows ever
👍🙂Hey now!
Still the funniest show Ive ever seen.
RIP to one of the best. ❤️ya Garry!
Fare Thee Well, Garry Shandling, RIP ❤️
Shandling is one of the greatest standups. Look for one where he tells about he and his wife adopting a dog named Shep
I can't find it
Still miss alot Gary.
Garry was one of my favorite comedians.
1. Richard Pryor
2. Goerge Carlin
3. Garry Shandling
4. Dave Chappelle
5. Eddie Murphy
GREAT ROSTER.
Norm Macdonald
@@hongkongsloth I'm not familiar with Norm's comedy. I knew of him, but never seen any of specials. I will check
Awww I miss him
Dude is hilarious.
That was classic comedy at its best.

My fav 😂
He sounds like Dana Carvey's impression of him on THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW.
It's Gary Shandling's Show.
The Best.
I had a mirror put in over my bed. In small writing it says, "Objects in the mirror are larger than they appear." - Garry Shandling. LOL
Sadly he did die, old and alone.
But he is still dearly missed and cherished. I suppose he was not alone after all.
We all die alone, truly - no one else can do that for you
If you have Jesus in your heart you will never die alone..

No wonder he was made fun in a nice way when Conan hosted the 2002 Emmy's, he's also a comedian, lol.
God bless, Revelation 21:4
Hey now!
Owes everything to Mr Carson.
I think Garry would have said that he owed George Carlin a little bit, too.
All I can hear is Verne (Over The Hedge).
funny man, his stand-up routines always killed.
He got better.
33? Jesus he looks 47 here
Hail Hydra
I think Seinfeld stole his act
They rented each other's teeth.
That's impossible! Seinfeld HAS no act.
I used to love listening to Gilbert Gottfried imitate Seinfeld.
Gary was funnier.
Yeah……now that I think about it. JERRY. 😊
Larry Sanders to me............
He grew up in Tewson.
Funny guy
the original Seinfeld routine
Gone too soon!
Ed Sullivan! LOL!
Seinfeld, is that you?
Nice one symbolism at 1:52. Not surprised, just disappointed.

Just sounds like pleasantries.
A lot of comedians had unpleasant childhoods.......from tragedy comes comedy, in many cases
did you expect him to say his mother is horrible in front of everyone and especially her and his dad?
Have you heard Rodney Dangerfield talking about his wife or Phyllis Diller talking about her husband Fang? They must have been awful people eh? Good grief!!
Definitely not the comedy of today 🥱😴
The irony is he did die old and alone.
I’ve tried to find videos of this so-called comedian where he is actually funny but, to date, my search has been fruitless.
Larry Sanders to me............
