A lot will depend on how long Fernando and Lewis stick around. They claim they want to keep driving on for years, but even GOATs can't stop the clock on their own ageing and eventually the ends won't justify the means for them. We need more teams in F1 to allow more junior drives in to F1..until we get more teams then so many young drivers will miss the chance to drive in F1...
When are we gonna admit that Mick just isn't that good? People keep making excuses and that ''well give him another chance'' mentality that both the fans and the teams management in F1 have is why the talented drivers from F2 basically get put on a waiting list after they win the competition. The sport needs to be a lot harsher, a lot of people who shouldn't be there are on the grid. At this point it's like if you manage to get in F1 you're gonna be driving at least 2-3 seasons because of the constant excuses and the ''well maybe he suddenly gets better next year'' logic.....it won't happen. Dude got 2 seasons, wasn't all that impressive, is he supposed to get 10 seasons before a more talented driver gets his spot? Getting Hulkenberg is a sidegrade, but at least he won't crash as much
If Mick does not join Williams, which is likely, I think his best chances are with Sauber. Audi will definitely wanna have at least one German driver. If Audi has any influence before 2026, Mick will join them. I only see other sauber juniors fighting for that spot too
I think Isaak Hadjar and Roman Stanek (though you mentioned them) are extraordinary drivers ! Both 18 years old and ready for F2. I'm really disappointed Théo Pourchaire was so unlucky and couldn't win the championship (since his bad luck early on gave him a lot of points to grab back, he overdrove a bit). I wish he was on the F1 grid for 2023 instead of Zhou ! The guy is the youngest ever F2 winner, gets P5 in 2021 at just 18, then 2nd at 19. It's extraordinary. Sauber has its reasons to keep Zhou, who had a decent season, but Pourchaire is a wonderkid. In the young generation (born in 1999 of after), I think those who will shine are : Oscar Piastri, (Schwartzmann has the level to be in F1 but I doubt he'll get the opportunity sadly), Théo Pourchaire, Felipe Drugovich, Jack Doohan, Ayumu Iwasa (very underrated I think), Dennis Hauger (1 bad season but he's great), Isaak Hadjar, Roman Stanek, Oliver Bearman, Zane Maloney. And Kimi Antonelli is coming to F3 and will be sensational I'm 100% sure about it ! Piastri, Pourchaire, Hauger, Hadjar, Bearman and Antonelli are the best of the best young talents ! (And maybe Maloney, his second part of 2022 was sensational)
Zhou is very underrated by F1 fans I see for some reason even though he was winning F3 in 2018 but Mick or his 3rd teammate I can't remember who it was crashed with him and then he fell off and lost it.
Pato? He's quick, charismatic and would be a great character on Drive to Survive (Don't think Liberty Media doesn't think about that and *nudge-nudge-wink-wink* teams about it).
In formula 1 nowadays, you only get one shot because the teams aren’t the most patient people in the world, so your either a generational talent, or a mid driver with 1 or 2 seasons before being kicked out
@@winter3040 I think bottas ocon and gasly have proved their worth, K-MAG is the best haas can get at the moment and strolls got his dad to keep his seat
Theo Pouchare said this was hist last f2 season though, so he's supposedly not on the f2 grid next year either. Which is a shame, this will make it nearly impossible to get to f1.
I think Mick should go focus on trying to get an Indycar seat. If not that then DTM or WEC. I don’t think we’ll see Mick in F1 again. Unless Audi is really hellbent on having a German with an iconic name in their car.
If Martins wins F2 in his rookie year then he’ll only be 22/23 when looking at an F1 drive. It’s not the end of the world considering the average age of an F2 driver on the 2022 grid is 25.8 I believe (although the numbers are a tad skewed due to Calderon, Merhi, & Ghiotto)
I have to remind myself to give Bearman a break... he's really young. But he has done some questionable things on-track, often at the expense of his teammate. He is exciting to watch, though. Iwasa had a good rookie year in F2 too. I know you can't include everyone, but that's what the comments section is for.
Ppl keep saying that Drugo ain't that good cus he only won it kn his third season, WHAT ABOUT DE VRIES FFS, bunch of ppl got their kitties wet for that man cus he did an amazing job at Monza, and he bloody won F2 in his third season. As a brazilian it "hurts" to see that Drugo ain't the next Senna, but if Schumacher who only won F2 in 2020 for being consistent deserves a seat, surely Drugo does too
thats the thing Devries isn't rated high. It took him 4 years after wining f2 to get into f1 lol. I don't rate him that high but at least now we will see if Nick is any good. The upside is that he is a 2x FE champion and has expirience.
I think Williams should actually have said Sargent needs to get his super licence and P5 or better in F2, because if he finishes sixth or seventh you could argue he doesn't deserve the seat
I’m still hoping for a Daniel-Valterri combo at Alfa Romeo, seems like a seat that will be open soon and the lack of the expectations associated with title contenders has benefited Bottas, why not Danny too?
@@noduj 1) the team remains, Sauber will be in the sport for the foreseeable future with the same lineup. Alfa is only the sponsor and name, but when I say Alfa I mean the team Sauber, that team won't go, just the sponsor. 2) I don't mean Danny to race for Alfa in 2023, I mean 2024 onwards. We already knew Zhou would stay and Danny would leave months ago, therefore it is reasonable to make the jump and assume that I mean for 2024 not 2023. If Zhou remains at his current level, which is passable rookie competing adequately, he won't be worth keeping over others. If Pourchaire wins F2 next year, Alfa won't want to keep an average Zhou who wasn't even that good in F2 or F1, nor will they risk losing Pourchaire. If Pourchaire gets a reserve drive (possible as Kubica is leaving) then why wouldn't Alfa look at Danny in the same way they looked at Bottas? They stand to have a driver lineup that rivals the top 3 teams in this scenario.
Love your content @Tommo but I have pretty much disagree with nearly all of these drivers (bar Ricciardo). At the moment, unless you have grand prix experience or are a Piastri/Russell/Leclerc talent, teams will be hesitant signing rookies (literally de Vries is a prime example, only became a prospect after he proved he could compete in F1 with his performance in Italy). Schumacher has a way better chance than Palou or any F2 or F3 driver who has not won their respective titles within two years of competition. It's sad, but it's the truth.

Getting Hulkenberg is a sidegrade, but at least he won't crash as much
Good vid (so far lol) Im really rooting for nyck de Vries though
Criminal that you left out Ayumu Iwasa :0
We need more parts! Really liked thuis vid
this
The next star talents at RB driver academy are Ayumu Iwasa and Isac Hadjar
If Mick does not join Williams, which is likely, I think his best chances are with Sauber. Audi will definitely wanna have at least one German driver. If Audi has any influence before 2026, Mick will join them. I only see other sauber juniors fighting for that spot too
I love the Smily light from the background,Tommo
I've got my eye on Caio Collet, personally
Zhou is very underrated by F1 fans I see for some reason even though he was winning F3 in 2018 but Mick or his 3rd teammate I can't remember who it was crashed with him and then he fell off and lost it.
zhou isn't even that good. he's just not as bad as people expected.
Pato? He's quick, charismatic and would be a great character on Drive to Survive (Don't think Liberty Media doesn't think about that and *nudge-nudge-wink-wink* teams about it).
At this rate, Ayumu Iwasa actually the bigger threat than Hauger and somehow i feel Liam is will be GOAT if he racing in GT or LeMans..
Personally i would add Daniil Kvyat, Pietro Fittipaldi and maybe some others
In formula 1 nowadays, you only get one shot because the teams aren’t the most patient people in the world, so your either a generational talent, or a mid driver with 1 or 2 seasons before being kicked out
Not rly Bottas/Ocon/K-mag/Strol/Gasly aren't generational talent and are mid drivers who race in f1 for more than 1 or 2 seasons .
Not just him but also other drivers too, they're talent but F1 stubborn enough that only want 10 teams on the grid
And Nissany
I have to remind myself to give Bearman a break... he's really young. But he has done some questionable things on-track, often at the expense of his teammate. He is exciting to watch, though.
Iwasa had a good rookie year in F2 too. I know you can't include everyone, but that's what the comments section is for.
"God save our Gracious Bias" lollll. Didn't realise you were in Chelmsford, just down the road. Essex4Life 😛
00:53 Cool!
I really don't see any Indycar drivers getting a chance any time soon
I’m still hoping for a Daniel-Valterri combo at Alfa Romeo, seems like a seat that will be open soon and the lack of the expectations associated with title contenders has benefited Bottas, why not Danny too?
Alfa only has a year left and both drivers have a contract
@@samlewis3555 Audi bought this team, Sauber won't have any rights, they gonna join 24 and sort the team out.
I get not wanting to take a back drive at Williams or Haas, but surely taking a reverse role at Red Bull is far more embarrassing for Ricciardo
I think the hulkenberg decision will backfire for haas
