Great video Andy!!!! I love to skip under trees and docks. My current skipping setup is the Team Lews Signature Series 7’2 Heavy Moderate Fast jig/worm rod paired with a 7:5:1 Lews Custom SLP reel spooled with 20 lb Seguar Red Label. My favorite jig for skipping is a 1/2 or 3/8 oz Strike King tour grade skipping in Bama Craw with a green pumpkin rage bug trailer.

Just can't say enough about Andy Montgomery! He is a joy to watch and a joy to the ministry of Christ. God bless you Andy and keep catching them and keep the faith. I hope to meet you one day.
As for a skipping comment I would love to learn I just started back to Bass fishing a year ago and me and my wife LOVE IT. It's something we truly love to do together.

I have to admit, where I fish there is no docks. 😬 That being said, I skip the river under bushes and just to keep getting better. I really believe some times just skipping open water makes it look like a fish fleeing. Helps my confidence.

Skipping a weightless Rage Bug on a 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG under docks with a Lew's BB1 Pro with 10 lb Power Pro braid on a St. Croix 6' MLF from my kayak is my favorite set up. Fish on!

Tremendous angler and gentleman. Andy is dedicated professional and above all a down to earth guy. Helpful in many ways and met him a few times. . My all time setup and fished regurly is a Lews super duty 8:3:1 on a 7'6" signature series Greg hackney Flippin stick. Strike king tungsten weight with a string king rage bug tied to 15 lb seaguar fluorocarbon

Andy is always a pleasure to watch. He has a great sense of humor, and when he's doing a video on skipping it's best to pay attention.
I think he is probably the best at this technique. Myself I have been using a Lew's Tournament MP reel paired with a 6'6" medium heavy rod. I would really like to try the Lew's Pro SP and the Andy Montgomery Signature Rod. I own several Lew's reels and like any bass angler I could always use one more. Keep up the good work with Kings of Bass, And keep making the best tackle in the business.

Andy's videos are great. My skipping setup is on a Lew's Mach Smash rod MH and reel. I use a Strike King Skipping jig with a Rage Bug trailer. This combo has worked well for getting to those normally unreachable places.

Going to be totally honest; I started following Kings of Bass TV to learn the proper way to plan, purchase, and fish for bass. I have no idea what is an ideal setup, but am planning tom learn as much as I can for next season. After years of dropping the hook and worm into the water and waiting, it is time to plan for the next step and join my friends and family to experience "Bass Fever". Thank you for the insight you provide and have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!

I am trying to learn skipping a jig but so far I have not had much success in mastering the technique. I believe my lack of the proper equipment may have a lot to do with the issue. I plan on getting the Lews signature skipping rod along with the Pro SP skipping reel, 20# test flourocarbon, a strike king skipping jig and a Rage Menace trailer. Hopefully with that setup I can be as half as good as Andy. 😊

my dream skipping setup would be andys skipping poles any lews baitcaster with braid .or fluorocarbon 10 or 12 pd with some of andys old jigs lol but I'd be just as happy with any bluegill..blackan blue ...watermelon jig with matching rage craw or tail behind it.. ..
thank you for the great content with some the greatest fishermen an company's there is..

So excited for Kings of Bass to be back!! My ideal skipping rod has been a 7’2 heavy Rod from daiwa with lews classic pro and 20 lb flouro. I prefer the outkast tackle cage feider jig for skipping in either 1/2 or 3/8 oz paired with a rage bug or a rodent depending on if the fish want action or not

Great video! I'm just starting to develop my skipping skills. My success rate (It goes where I want it to) is about 1 in 3 casts....I have a long way to go to get where I want to be. It's great to see a cast hit perfectly! I'm currently using the Johnny Morris Carbonlite 2.0 bait cast combo on a medium heavy rod.

Tour grade 1/2 oz Strike King skipping jig blue/black. Strike King Rage Bug 4” black blue flake and Seaguar TATSU 20 lb 100% fluorocarbon. Went to my boat to make sure I wrote everything right. 😜 BTW, I wish I could find Rage bugs in bulk. I have dang gar fish that pulls the craws off. Happy fishing! 😀

I grew up fishing D’Arbonne…it is a great fishery. It sucks that the weather came in and shut them down. By the time Caney rolled around. The weather had started to warm and some big fish were caught. The biggest in a Bass Pro Tour event, actually. Randy Howell owned that record for a little more than 24 hours before he broke his own record the following day on Bussey.

If money was no concern, my ideal setup would be a Falcon Expert 7' 3" Amistad rod using a KastKing Kestrel Elite Bait Finesse Casting Reel. My line choice is Strike King Tour Grade Braid with Strike King Tour Grade Fluorocarbon 12lb leader. I would tie on a V&M Pacemaker Skipping Jig using Strike King Rage Tail Ned Bug as a trailer. I've attempted to learn this technique but still going to need lots of practice.

I use a baitcaster for everything except skipping. That’s when I use my spinning reels with braid. I don’t like pulling out overruns with a baitcaster. If I had a baitcasting reel designed for skipping it sure use it instead. I’m usually pitching with my baitcasters.
