Love that you show the realities of changing moods on the trail and how you work as a team! Thanks for not sugar coating the journey! Your wonderful creative filming paints.a clear and interesting picture of life on the trail,.
Loved the videos. I met you on the trail a few days ago just before Wrightwood. ( Gatorade - old guy - no backpack - day hiking the PCT ) It always makes my day to meet other people like myself who are just happy to be on the trail despite all the hardship. You made me smile when I met you, and I'm smiling now as I watch the videos. Made my day again. Thanks to Candace? for tipping me off to the UA-cam channel.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos! I told Candace that you found the page and she got the biggest smile on her face. I hope that we get to see you out on the trail again one of these days!
Thanks for these videos! I am amazed you can produce this quality of videos by editing on your phone!?!? My work is on two wide screen monitors, I would feel crippled with just one, so great work on your end. Vicarious couch warrior out.
You are both quickly becoming some of my favorite PCT hikers this year! Love the humor paired with the realities of trail life. Looking forward to the next one already!
ReWatching this before I head out early next month. Just read your write up in the description for this video, comforting knowing you guys also were told that SJ was treacherous but you went ahead and made it through. I really want to pass through SJ too, but I guess I’ll know closer to my start date if others have gone through and what the conditions are like.
Ah man, yep! The whole trail is full of opinions, ultimately you have to take it all with a grain of salt and do what you feel is best for yourself! I see I'm late to this, I hope the journey is going well for you! Happy trails! :-)
Fabulous video capturing the emotions along the way. Really cool that you are able to edit and post these from your journey...looking forward to the next episode!
"Smiles" or, Daisy... So cool that you got to meet her. She's a hiking machine! Never seen anyone hike like she can. And she's triple crowning this year! I hope the editing doesn't get to be too much for yall...I like your video style. Stay safe!... following yall from Townsend, Tennessee in the Smokies
The fact you two are so real is amazing. Relationships are hard enough without the stress of a thru hike. I would have signed the divorce papers by now 😅
It’s definitely not all sunshine and rainbows, that’s for sure! 😅 But I think overall we make a pretty good team and it’s been very rewarding! - Cassie
Very curious what temperature your sleeping bags are rated to? And your sleeping pads? Being really cold at night is one of my fears so any information/discoveries you could share…🙏🥰
What do you use to film? And do you each have your own phone/camera/go pro to film? If so, how do you get all the footage onto one phone to edit into videos? Me and my fiancee are planning on doing this but confused with the logistics. Love your videos!
Day before day zero. Were the trees the remains of a brush fire? Water supply, any life straws? Last question, toilet roll or what nature provides, which is it? Love the animation, it gives us perspective of your journey. Can't wait for the next installment. Happy Trails!!!
Love following you along this journey! Can I ask what editing software you're using that enables you to make these videos from your phone? Looking forward to more of your PCT adventures!
I totally agree. I think about that every day. I can’t imagine accomplishing this type of thing without the technology and conveniences today. It is amazing what the trailblazers accomplished.
Lots of idle wood along the PCTs, but there is also a tourist place called Idyllwild south-southwest of San Jacinto Peak which is not far from Palm Springs (which isn't in practical proximity to the trail) The trail that goes up to the PCT from the little park on the north end of Idyllwild is one of the steep ones, especially after a fresh re-supply, and the trail down the north side of the mountain is the biggest descent/ascent (NoBo/SoBo) anywhere on the PCTs.
He’s my husband, and he’s pretty fantastic. He happens to be the only reason we have these videos. Feel free to find some different videos if ours aren’t your vibe ✌️

Your videos are great. I had to go back to the first one and watch them all in sequence.
oh my gosh- that part when you finish your day and Rob is throwing his stuff out of his pack in the background-- funniest moment ever!😂😂❤️
You took the words right outta my mouth!! THIEF!!!
@@extremelydave 😂
Yes that was my favorite part 😂😂😂

I like your consistent good humor which diguises hard core strength and endurance.. You do rock.

Love the editing and fast cuts and how you capture each of you walking …. Appreciate the time you take with the edit
Nice touch adding RJD2. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Someone suggested I start watching you and I am so glad I did. I’ve got to catch up to your most recent video. You both are so great and real.
So good!! Great style. Looking forward to all your videos. Thanks for taking the time to vlog.

Really nice footage. You are doing a lot of miles per day. Awesome timelapse from 18:21 - 18:26
Happy hiking

Love DAISY!
Yes, she’s awesome! We’re very excited to to follow her journey this year!
hey guys love your videos you are doing great!!!!!
That was a fun little video. Thanks for sharing :)
You're doing well, keep it up. A couple who started same day as me didn't last an entire day before getting off trail. Nice music choices.
You guys are great! Please keep posting!!!!!
Love these so far. If you guys are ever interested, I'd LOVE a gear video!
PTFO - my new favourite acronym! “Gonna get in my tent and PTFO...” 👍
Oh, and following from up in Vancouver, BC. GTF up here!
I think rob is my spirt animal...keep up the great videos guys loving it!!

Loving the videos. Keep it up!
Great progress and great editing
Amazing videos!
"As you were". 20 years in the Navy...I know that phrase lol.
Love the Odesza 🤙
Hell yeah.
Great video! Did you stash your backpacks before peak bagging San Jacinto, or did someone watch them for you? Thanks!
Oh I remember that stinky water! It wasn’t so bad after I boiled it.
Oh, and your GREAT senses of humour will take you both all the way to Canada!!
I can't wait to watch video
Ending of Fuller ridge climb, my feelings exactly.

We ended up with 20 degree quilts, but personally I would go warmer if I did it again!

Heading Somewhere Good to know. I plan to err on the side “extra warm.” Thanks for the feedback.

We have two iPhones for the self filming, a Sony a6000, and a GoPro to get the variety of film and still photos.
We have airdrop and a lightning SD reader that allows use to manage the micro SD cards for the devices.
Thank you for the answer!!

Calling dibs on Torgo!!!
What camera and lens are you using for your pictures? And for filming?
I’m using a Sony A6000 for some of my photos, and the majority of filming is with our iPhones and a little from the gopro
Boil some water. Fill hot water bottle. Place in sleeping bag. It works.
Best couples pct videos since Mari Johnson and her BF
Ahhh I was thinking that as well!,
How did you make those map route segments at 19:40?
I'm not positive because Bird Bath does the tech stuff, but I believe he talks about it in the Q&A :-)
What camera gear do you use? Lighterpack? Thx!
Sony a6000
I will attach my lighter pack link to the last video now! Rob has not made one so it’s just my gear :-)

Hey there! Rob uses LumaFusion on his iPhone to edit the videos
Melting snow for water is def the hard way, but good learning experience.
Awesome vid! Was that Daisy Hikes at the end of the video?
@@PajaroDunesBum It was!
Yes and wow she’s awesome!
What always strikes me, whenever I watch a video of an adventure like this, is "someone did it first" without all the aids we use today.
I totally agree. I think about that every day. I can’t imagine accomplishing this type of thing without the technology and conveniences today. It is amazing what the trailblazers accomplished.
@@HeadingSomewhere But what an AMAZING adventure that would have been, eh? 😁
Without the snowpack the final summit push is actually harder, not easier.
Kinda opposite of the nice trails which is most of the PCTs.
If you come across Mark. he’s my son. He just left Idlewood , or something like that. I’ll follow you.

@6:45 sulfur water. Yum.
That is snake city, two episodes in a row.
Sulfur water? Sounds like it.
I think so!
From your moods you two seem to be pushing too hard. You might burn out down the trail and have issues with each other. Why not slow down some.
Find a new boy friend because so far he drags down your videos
