- 3/16/23 I've created the Best Controller Support Guide for Ready or Not on the PC. You can use an Xbox or Steam controller. I'm using the Gulikit King Kong Pro 2 which is a Switch/PC controller that works quite well.

Ready or Not is an intense, tactical, first-person shooter that depicts a modern-day world in which SWAT police units are called to defuse hostile and confronting situations.
VOID Interactive has consulted police units worldwide to make your virtual avatar play and feel like a fully equipped SWAT officer, creep or advance swiftly through tense scenarios as required by ever-changing mission conditions. Unpredictable assailants and civilians mimic the chaos of actual SWAT actions.
In order to bring the world of Ready or Not to life we’ve spared no expense to make our equipment reflect the equipment that SWAT Teams utilize in the field, our skilled sound and art teams have created life-like replicas for you to use in-game.
Equip, customize, and command your AI teammates through levels to tackle all of the challenges that Ready or Not presents you with as efficiently as possible or exchange your AI teammates for 4 friends and aim for even higher scores.
Do your best to respond appropriately to the realistically erratic behavior of all of the subjects in any given situation, detain erratic civilians and move them to safety while combating aggressive and dangerous suspects.
Using Tactical equipment such as a Breaching shotgun, Battering ram, the Mirror gun, as well as several different varieties of less lethal grenades, as well as many other tools to expand your squads ability to respond to certain threats or accentuate the chosen play style of your squad.

just had surgery for bilateral proximal fractures and left distal1/3 ulna shaft and cant use keyboartd atm, this video is needed and helped me, thanks bro.

lamen terms I hit a pothole on my bikeand broke both shoulders and my ulna bone, had 2 surgerys in 3 days the last todsy to fix this and was gifted a steam card but i cant use wsad yet been 12 cdays of hell, if you bike listen to this advive- wear a helmet i was lucky in that but see so many not using them, vanity will get you killed.
Yikes! That's serious pain. Yeah, definitely wear a helmet, I know I will! Well hopefully you heal up well and enjoy some game time.

THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊❤ FOR INCLUDING US , i can not stress enough just how much it hurts being excluded and deprived from being able to play these games developers refusing to put in a reasonable suitable controller scheme into the game itself (arma titles and squad etc...) yes theres controller manager but half the time depending on the title varys wether or not the created preset actually will work in game 🙄, but thank you so much for mentioning us gamers with disabilities in the reasoning for using a controller on PC it feels good not to be judged soley for our preference etc... hioe all is well and hope you have a great christmas holiday and a great new years also , im watching from nova scotia canada , i recently bought zero hour on sale and hoping to afford ready ir not come christmas day or boxing day once disability cheques come out in december
I completely understand. I have a preference for controller as I often have hand pain and numbness. I'm glad I could help you. Another great game to look into that actually has controller support is Ground Branch. It's more militaristic and is made by members of Red Storm Entertainment that did the old Rainbow Six games. I'll be covering it soon as one of my friends just got it!

Any advice for reducing/lowering ADS sensitivity with the controller? If you lower the right stick sensitivity in Steam settings, you’re main look around will be way too slow.
I would just mess with right joystick sensitivity on the steam layout page. I really didn't need to make any tweaks but that's where I'd go.
Using this layout when you press B to crouch do you have to keep the button held to remain in that position? With my controller I only crouch if I hold the button constantly.
I had to change that in the settings to remap it as a toggle to crouch I believe.

@@stikinthemud9710 no problem! I think I had to l make changes on the Steam settings and change the keyboard mapping in game. It’s been a while but should be simple.

Hey aaron! Im trying to figure out the custom mapping thing for the leaning, im not a huge fan of having to hold the right stick and using the left stick all while having to shoot, do you have any advice to remap it?
I'm currently working on my own controller layout that I'm going to share with the community here and in a new video. I'll be mapping the leans to clicking left and right thumbstick respectively. I'll have more details soon. I'm recording the video and typing up the article right now.

Possibly? I’ve only ever used Steam while in the United States. You do have to have a controller plugged in. You can try going to big picture mode if you don’t see controller settings pop up

Do you know if the Switch Pro Controller is compatiable as well? I'd imagine it is, but want to make sure before purchasing the game.

@@AaronShack64 so the switch controller does work, and actually found 1 community layout for it on Steam.
I feel it’s a bit funky, but it works. Like it’s not as easy for say.. mapping a controller to Insurgency Sandstorm, but it’s still doable.
@@AngryWookie93 it might take a little bit of remapping too! I went with the Xbox style preset and from there over a few weeks I’ve made some changes. I might make a follow up video soon!

Just got this game, playing with xbox controller, everything seems to work fine although most of the team commands need to be done with keyboard. Is there anyway they can be done with controller? I assumed I would be able to open up the command option and scroll like in swat 4.
So far it’s really just the yell and go here type commands. I think it might be possible to map all the commands. I’m working on that

@@vodkashot3969 they plan to do official controller support at some point… but it’s seems like they’re not in a big hurry. Definitely a radial wheel to manage commands and maybe even inventory would be nice!

@@vodkashot3969 this is a market where there’s not a lot of tactical shooters and I don’t see any reason why this couldn’t be controller compatible and eventually run on consoles. I’ve played a little Six Days in Fallujah and I’m going to play Ground Branch. Those are great alternatives that have controller support if you’re interested

I really want to try this game out, but sadly, I am not a huge fan of keyboard and mouse. Do you have an updates to these settings or do you have a config for Steam that you can share? I know someone in the comments already asked. Thanks in advance.
You can try following the steps in this video... but I am working on coming up with my own configuration because I'm mostly a controller player myself. Will have a new video soon!

@@awarism7020 It did at one time. I have been working on a follow up to this with my own controller preset because even the default one doesn't deliver a smooth experience like when you play Call of Duty or Rainbow Six. Official Controller support is coming but the developer really never had it as a high priority which I think is kinda stupid. I'll have an update soon.
Hi, I’ve followed this but when I open the game the xbox pad doesn’t work. Any ideas why?

My ps5 controller works on this game, other than lean right doesn't work, lean left does pushing down the left analog stick, but pushing right analog stick doesn't do it for lean right

I'm not sure. Is the game on GeForce Now? PS5 controller should work through Steam though.

Yes. For the main menu you use right stick to move the mouse cursor I and right trigger to right click. One I was in the game everything is fine. I am making my own controller preset to share with everyone, should be done sometime today, I need to test it.

It pissed me off the jump doesn't even work anymore and the glow sticks barely shines
Yeah, doesn't seem like the game needs a jump button. The glow sticks really don't do much other than mark where you've been, kind of a shame they don't illuminate the room even a little bit.

My best guess is yes, I cannot confirm as I don't use my PS4 controller anymore or on PC at all.

Haven't been able to test that but I would assume so
When using controller I can only walk and turn, nothing else at all
Definitely make sure you’ve followed the steps in order to select the proper controller configuration as I did in the beginning of the video. If not, you’ll only be able to walk and use the triggers for mouse clicks which is Steam’s default controller configuration for games.

How to pause and ready up?
Not sure that this controller setup had a button mapped for that. Had to have a keyboard handy. Don't worry, I'm working on my own controller layout and will premiere it this week and share it with everyone. I'll do a livestream to test it out then update on another video.

it seems to have been removed,or at least it’s not showing up for me. what are the settings for the config?
The settings are not in-game they’re through Steam. If you don’t see your controller configuration show up, make sure everything is updated and connected, try restarting Steam or try big picture mode to edit controller configuration for Ready or Not.

@@maybelux9123 unfortunately it looks like it’s been removed. I guess we will now have to wait for official controller support from the developer which they are in no hurry to do, but will do.
@@maybelux9123 Until they do, I recommend Ground Branch by ex Devs at Red Storm entertainment that did the old Rainbow Six games and Six Days in Fallujah. Both tactical shooters like this with great controller support from the start!

@@MovinMyThumbs yes. I think there’s also an option to click the stick in and then lean the stick left and right but that feels weird so I have it mapped like Rainbow Six Siege. Click left stick to lean left, click right stick to lean right.

Well I don't have it from steam Think about those who get the game from other parts not from steam How can they do How can they manage to be able to play with the controller because windows supports xbox one bar but not it also provides a driver for the control I mean I have an Xbox controller plugged into the computer it sees it but I can't play how you look it also looks for those who play games apart from the way you play who have the game directly without having steam or anything else that would be more useful
I believe Steam is the only program that currently offers some small form of controller support for this game through legal purchase of the game from their application. Maybe someday the developer will get around to official controller support.
@@AaronShack64 if you know the developer you should tell him that he should have done this from the start because now the pc shows the xbox bar so if it shows the xbox 4 then the games made should have controller support like the whole range of assassin's creed games were made any Controller you put there works, you don't have any trouble how could they do this a few years ago and they released a game this year and they are not able to implement a controller support means the game is not completely normal it had to be implemented
@@iulianborcean7753 it’s in early access and I’m not in contact with the developer. Controller support is listed as something they want to do at some point in development before release but not a high priority
@@AaronShack64 Thank you very much for the answer and for your time I appreciate it means a lot to me for those who still want to play with the control the control works after you plug it in you connect it to USB it works natively left right forward back camera and also you don't have to enter any settings for these But for the other commands you have to enter as if you changed the commands on the keyboard only instead of pressing buttons on the keyboard you press the buttons on the Controller and the game sees them it sees them exactly as they are on the controller so you can do this But no native go with the mouse Click on the respective button you want to put command and Press on the keyboard and it appears in the game and I can use thank you once again for your time🙂🤝

I knew you were gonna be the first one to be excited for this. Yes, I think so. I still need to try out an actual mission and see how things go though.
I cant even get the game to acknowledge that theres a controller. I tried steam,ds4 and nothing.
I am using Steam and following all the steps in my video and using my layout. Works just fine. Tried it on Xbox and PS5 style controllers. Not using any external software. All I can say is, follow the steps and make sure everything is updated and compatible and it'll work. Has for hundreds of people and over 20,000 hours of gameplay on my layout.
No. This doesn’t work. Voice commands don’t work. Double tapping Y doesn’t switch weapons. None of this works like it should. Bummer
If you followed my steps in the video and selected that default controller setting it should work. I'm working on a new video and potentially gonna release my own controller settings on Steam soon.
Keep in mind none of this is official controller support and that would be ideal.
@@AaronShack64 yeah I’m not thick man. Lol I followed closely 4 times. Not sure what the issue is but it’s definitely not a me thing. I wish it were because I’m easy to fix. 😂

Oh wow this is literally a bloke pressing buttons on a controller and telling you what the buttons do 😂 yeah thanks mate I can do that myself.
It’s about picking the settings and seeing how it works in game. I’m also telling you the buttons actions because the game has no UI to do so until official controller support is out there. Good luck out there champ.
@AaronShack64 the settings do nothing. you can litterally just press the bottons and see what they do.
@@Bikeadelic I’m informing people and saving them time. If they think the controls don’t seem solid or if the setup isn’t worth their time I’ve helped someone. If they end up going through this process and tweak controls to their liking as I have, that’s also helpful. Keep on keepin on bucko.
@AaronShack64 there is no set up! You can not set the controls how you want with a controller!
@AaronShack64 don't use my opinion of your useless and clickbait named video as a reason to dissmiss me. If you don't want peoples opinions on your content don't put it on the Internet for everyone to see. You call it a guide, what have you guided? You don't show anyone how to do anything you just verbalise the controller layout.
