Love your command of the software. Love that you talk out loud about your process and that you struggle w the tiny imperfections and move on when too much time is spent on stuff that doesn’t matter. Love that you keep stepping back to assess the drawing and that you guess at the design intent when you have limited info and take some artistic liberty when needed. Good job! Learned a lot!

I'm in the process of drawing out my own house, and I must say that it's much easier when you draw it as the workers are building it. Of course you're drawing from the picture without accurate measurements.
But nevertheless great job man!

once you said you make many mistake, laughing* i made many homes and yes i saw the mistakes once i put them in, so i had to delete then redo, but you learn more an more each time, ty for this, i thought it was only me, lol
the geometry at 25:45 doesn't line up because of the angle at the top of the wall. flat on the bottom end, angled on top makes for a warped plane. start the inner line on the bottom end at a correspondingly lower point and your problem goes away.
Your channel is full of great content!!!!! What type of PC are you using? Seems to work very well for sketchup!
I imagine the angle of the "right side roof" follows the same angle of that of the stairs (while also providing door clearance) *shrugs*

I guess that mean modeling the stairs...making sure (within standard step dimensions) that you make the stairs appropriately, then use the protractor tool to find the angle, then use that angle from the starting point of your roof.
Hi, after completing the roof cut I surprisingly found some of the black edge lines vanished. Can you tel me why, and how to fix?
How does the price of these modern style roofs compare with traditional types? Can you think of any ways that homeowners could create a "faux" modern roof? For example, we have a fairly flat roof 1/12..and we need to get it replaced. Often times on modern homes I see a thick border where gutters usually are. I was thinking that maybe we could put a border like that on our house to give the illusion of a modern flat roof--hoping that the border would hide the low pitched roof, so from the street/ground, it would look flat. Does anyone happen to know the correct term for that border, what it is usually constructed of and how it is attached, or any other information you may have..I'd greatly appreciate it!
Why didnt't you use the elevation drawings as reference? You could have scaled the elevations to get the exact dimensions of the windows, doors, etc. and you could have used the protractor tool to figure out the angle of the roof(s).
