Yeah that was weird. When I was doing scaffolding we carried an adjustable spanner but never used it really, for most fittings we used a scaffy spanner which was like a flexible socket wrench and also a ratchet spanner…but yeah if you’re doing it for eight hours a day you get very fast , the socket spanner would work una kind of turn then lift turn then lift movement so you weren’t just turning a spanner round and round as that’s not really secure enough- you need something that fitted round the nut securely as we never had lanyards on our tools so you didn’t want any drops from height for numerous reasons 😮
To be honest, if you watch the threads, he's kind of already almost all the way tight. I suspect he was just moving back and forth until those last few tightens. If he really spun the nut that much, it would think it would move half way up the bolt. But idk, I'm just a stagehand lol. What do we know about wrenches?
Wow I never thought I'd see someone else assembling pallets 😂😂 I had the same job when I was younger and you really do get that fast when you learn the technique The Amish actually built our pallet jig machines and shipped them to NY
I use to be able to back up two which might not seem so hard but I was only 15 working on a corn farm. The tractor pulled a three row corn picker that was offset from the tractor. The picker had a hydraulic tongue that moved in and out about maybe 8'. A wagon about 15' was attached to the tongue and the picker had a conveyor that went up and over the wagon. I would move the tongue in or out to get the corn spread out over the length of the wagon. At the end of the corn rows was a tree line that forced me to square up with the trees, back up the offset picker and wagon and then start down another row back to the road. I thought I was the bomb, lol, and so did many of the grown ups. Great memories.
The triple tractor backup is beyond impressive. Those of you who have never backed up a trailer how no clue how crazy challenging it is doing just what he did. The way you direct a trailers direction is with the direction of push. That sounds simple, and it is, until you add a second trailer to it. Then you have to use the first trailer to push the second one by pushing the first one. It only gets exponentially more difficult with a third one. And he's doing it smoothly in a turn. Whatever they're paying him isn't enough.
Worked in a pallet repair place for a few months after I quit working on towboats... Well, they had a stand like that, then they had one that was automated. The automated one required someone that was tall, and had at least half a brain (not saying I'm smart, just the competition in a place like that doesn't exist(... Well, we called it the Pecker (sounded like a robot woodpecker)... So I guess I was a Pecker Operator for a few months. 😂
