Yes absolutely! I fully believe that your journal is meant to be a reflection of your life at the time, so of course it's going to ebb and flow with the different seasons of your life.
The A5 is about the size of the Hobonichi cousin that i used for 2023. It just personally felt like too much space for me, but I do a lot of longform writing.
I also wanted to say that you may find yourself in need of a reflection day at some point and decide to go back and do those pages about your first weeks with your baby. So save those pictures in there for when that happens.
Yes I will definitely save those in there! I also have a separate baby book for her where I plan on adding some of the most important memories, so that's another reason I just kind of let myself not feel pressured to do it in my CP :)
Welcome to Hawaii! Also, I wanted to mention that the weather tracker may be more helpful in fall and winter because in Hawaii our winter is mostly rain and maybe 2 weeks of sweater weather if we’re lucky. lol but the rain sucks so it’ll be helpful to know when you might need an umbrella. lol I love how you use your SI common planner. I have a few that I use too, but I’ve been hopping around and trying some new things or going back to what’s the most useful when I need to. Anyway, hope all is well for you as you settle in!
@@Krystn thank you so much! Yes that’s a big reason why I’m continuing with the forecast. Im not sure what to expect for rainy season so it will be nice to be in that habit already.
Hi, just came across your channel. I understand flipping back & forth between planning and memory-keeping. 😊 I also flipped back & forth in dated or undated (made a vid about that!). I’ve accepted this flip-flopping is part of our journal journeys 🤭 Your life seems filled with love. Nothing is better. Thank you for sharing - we have a similar creative style. 😊💛
Yes the flip flopping is all part of it! Though for next year I am moving to separate the actual planning vs memory keeping a bit more :) it’s all part of the process.
I just stumbled onto your page today and I think I just found my planner/plant person all in one! 😂💚 I love that your channel is both planners and plant related videos! I didn’t know how to incorporate both of my interests into one channel but you made it effortless! 🖋️🌿
aww thank you and welcome!! I don't post a lot of plant-centric content on YT any more but try to talk about them on my IG occasionally :) thanks for being here!
omg good luck!! I've been through two now -- one from KS to VA and then this one from VA to HI. It's so stressful and I'm sending you all the good vibes for a smooth move!
I recently discovered Sterling Ink planners and I love them! I'm finishing out this year in an N2 and planning to move to a B6 Slim next year. I've only added stickers and washi tape so far. Do you find the thin paper holds up well to other types of ephemera?
@@honeyphillips8423 it definitely holds up well! They will chonk up your notebook pretty fast but if you’re cool with that then go for it. I put stickers, thicker craft paper, washi tapes, photos, business card cut outs, wrappers etc. You can see at the beginning it’s fairly fluffy, but for a half year it didn’t bulk out too much at all.
Thank you so much for sharing! I’m stuck deciding between an a5 or b6 sterling ink common planner for next year and this really helped me solidify it for me. Did you watch the new video they posted and the new journal/planner that’s coming out that doesn’t have the goals or weeklies? The daily pages have the hourly breakdown and I feel like you might like that a lot more since you haven’t been using the weeklies.
Yes I did watch! I saw that, but I am actually using the weeklies much more for part 2 in terms of memory keeping. So I'd like to keep with the common planner for 2025! I'm actually going to try to add in a horizontal weekly booklet as well. That way I can use the vertical weeklies of the CP like I was towards the end of this as a review of the week. But I can have the horizontal to use as a traditional planner for appts and things. But also I can use it for meal planning & expense tracking. So many options!!
Welcome! For the first part of the weeklies I'm using weather stickers from Doodle Bean Co. After that I switch to stickers from Paper Bits Co. Hope that helps!
Thanks for sharing, I love journal flip throughs and I love your style! I’m wondering if the journal pages on your phone can be printed out since they have pics, etc
When I have a bucketload of photos and no desire to journal, I just glue them in, write a caption for the page, or even just the date and call it done. Sometimes life is way too much. ❤ Also, I see an I Stand with Palestine sticker and I immediately subscribe. 😍
This was so fun to watch. I loved hearing your process and normalizing that life stages alter our journaling practice - and that’s ok!

Hi Emily! Thank you for sharing your journal, it is absolutely stunning and I love your style!
Thank you so much!
I just ordered a b6 common planner yesterday, I love your set up! your brain works like mine!
@@G3brenda oooh yay, have so much fun with it! I’ll be making a video soon where I set my new B6 up for 2025 :)

Super helpful! I’m torn between a5 and b6 too. Trying to make up my mind. I love your journaling pages.
