Just finished the new motor install on my 170 and it started right up... cant believe it... thank you so much brother! Couldn't have done it without you! And your accent made this process much less frustrating 😊

Awesome job fixing this saw. I love the way you explained everything you were doing. Straight to the point and not alot of blabbing on. You got a new subscriber.

Hi Henry as you know I work on most things and it’s nice sometimes just getting something small on the bench and plodding away and getting it fixed. Thanks for watching 🙂👍

Would be a good idea, to use some engineoil to put in piston, into the cylinder, These parts should never move dry.

Can i ask where you purchased the replacement Cylinder & Piston from? Do you have any thoughts about AliExpress, quality? I'm not against using AliExpess parts.

Hi Aaron, I have decided atm to put the garden machinery repair videos on my mowers and stuff channel, reason is I’d like Mend it Man to be just the cars and bikes, I did mention it on a mend it man update video. From now on I’ll probably do a short linking the video. Thanks for spending the time to search it out 🙂👍

I don't think much of the cheap pistons and cylinders. They don't come close to the quality of the originals. What you can buy are the ones from Meteor, which are actually good. Too bad about the 170 which will cause problems again in time.

So the MS170 is a cheap saw I sold this saw to my brother who cuts his firewood with it every winter, probably foes 40 hours every winter still working spot on. Also of these after market piston kits work fine as long as fuel is mixed correctly, I’ve used them on other machines and never have a problem.
