This version of the song has been released as a charity single, and all proceeds from its purchase will go to charity! Available from all major DSPs.
Made in collaboration with The Yogscast and both theirs and TLJs communities. We all came together to make this fantastic arrangement of the internet classic that is Diggy Diggy Hole. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and we hope you’re as proud of it as we are!

I don’t think Simon could have ever predicted how beloved and how famous his little ditty could have become 😂
(Simon aka Honeydew: im a little bored think i will sing a silly little song) now 12 years, 9 months and 28 days later. look what it has become. :D
You should see his face on the livestream, pure joy.
@@ChaosFluff12 years? Already? I'm getting old...
@@MrEvers Is there a vod available? Missed the live stream.
@@Wolfbane192 It's streamed on youtube this year, so its right there on the yogscast YT channel.
From a Minecraft skit, to a fan made song, to an official song, to a metal cover, and now a folk cover. This song has a great legacy from those days when it was just a skit and I'm proud I've been there to see it's evolution. Keep up the good work my friends in Bristol.
Dont forget the Clamavi de Profundis cover! Diggy Diggy hole can now be counted to be among some of the best renditions of Tolkiens songs!
Don't forget the folk-metal club remix
There’s a lady’s choir who sang it too. ❤️
Wind Rose who made the metal cover also did a "club mix" version...
I can’t wait for the jazz and classical covers
A real pleasure to contribute to this!

AYYYYYYY
Thanks, and thanks as well for keeping the climate crisis front and centre! I love it.
Dang, how did they ask for contribution, I did not see anything from YT... It's been 3 collab's I'm missing, a bit sad cause it seems really fun
I don’t think childhood me could’ve ever predicted I’d get to be a part of a community cover for Diggy Diggy Hole. So happy to be a part of these communities, this was yet another great project!
yogscast would be proud
Child me found their series early on in season 1, and waited to watch each new video in the series until The Oasis. It really upset me back then that they never made more and left it on a major cliff hanger.
To all those placing their first block and to all those placing their last. we salute you
Awww- I have tears- my late husband would sing this while he played Minecraft, and WoW (his character was a dwarf). This became sort of his anthem.
May he rest in peace.
Years ago, in a far away land known as minecraftia, a dwarf sang a jig to inspire his comrades. Now, it's beyond anything he's dreamed of.
Amazing job Johns, can't wait to see what comes next.
It's become more than any could have dreamed. From a tune to clear up a bit of monotony, moving dirt from one place to another, to eventually become the song all Dwarves know to heart.
Ah how I miss Shadow of Israphel, good times, good times!
@@Yuki_Ika7 It really sucks they never gave any sort of closure to that series. If I remember correctly, one of the "NPCs" they had had just died, they promised to avenge him, then I think either Moonquest or the Factory series started, and they just forgot about the epic story with massive builds and what must have been months of hard work without a word about what happened.
Edit: To tell the full tale (Because there are people who weren't even born when this came out), the first Diggy Diggy hole was an about ten second song sang by a member of a group called the Yogscast, who started a let's play of Minecraft *13* years ago (Ow. My age.). The first 15 or so episodes were a legitimate Minecraft let's play, but one episode they were attacked by a player by the name of Israphel.
They chased him to a massive city build far away from the spawn chunks, met several "NPC" type players, who told an epic story about how, in the past, a team of people fought off an apocalypse, and how the vanguard of said apocalypse (Israphel) was back.
There were massive builds, castles, airships, cities, an entire dwarven kingdom, A wall built around an entire desert biome to "Hold back the scourge of the desert", NPCs, and epic story, you name it. But one day they just stopped uploading episodes and started a new series after a cliffhanger, and never went back to it for some reason.
Diggy Diggy Hole was meant to be sung by hundreds of people at once. Rock and Stone.
DID I HEAR A 'ROCK AND STONE'?!
If you don't rock and stone, you ain't coming home!
Rock and stone!
ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS
FOR KARL
Somewhere there's 13 dwarves dancing to this while wrecking a hobbit's kitchen.
I love this freaking song.
Omg YES

I don't know, Tolkiens original was better for that given situation I think.
But yeah, this is absolutely awesome. 😁
Lmao...well said!@@amandamcquade1272
that's what Bilbo Baggins hates
This was absolutely breathtaking to watch on the jingle jam, I felt chills and a little teary at this whole community. What a wonderful rendition of the song!
It's so tearjerking to see each new version of it, I remember buying the original fan-made version on iTunes many years ago (probably 9-11 years now), I don't think Simon could ever have imagined that a short joke would become so big and beloved
Was a pleasure to record for this (even if I hated my own singing), BROTHERS OF THE MINE REJOICE!
You sounded great!
We all sounded amazing! And verily we did dig! :)
That's the cool thing about a chorus, you don't need to sound good, being together automatically sounds good
thats the beauty of these, enough people harmonize amazing, regardless of individual singers (though i think everyone did great).
I have a terrible English skills, but this magnificent video is a living example of quote of the famous russian anarchist philosopher, Peter Kropotkin - "all - equal, all - different" (все - ра́вные, все - ра́зные").
Rock and stone, brothers of the mine! Greetings from Omsk, West Siberia!
Dwarves of the world, unite!))
Rock and stone brother!
ROCK AND STONE!
Glad I managed to see this be uploaded while I was playing Minecraft and digging a hole.
I remember seeing that episode of Shadow of Israphel all those years ago, I was around 11 years old, listening to Simon coming up with a little song to sing whilst digging, I wonder if he knew it would become such a massive sensation that's been listened to and sung by millions around the world. So proud to see how far these lads (both the YOGS, and TLJ) and how much of an influence they've had, not just on my life, but on millions.
shadow of israphel is always something that sticks in my heart
”Rock and Stone”
“Baruk Khazâd”
”Khazukan Kazakit-ha”
Deep Rock
Tolkien Legendarium
Warhammer
Elder Scrolls
Age of Sigmar
WoW
I ask all of dwarf kind from all places stand for our Anthem. May this timeless masterpiece of a song And of course, our hatred of all things elf continue to unite us forevermore.
"ROCK AND STONE" OR "STRIKE THE EARTH", WE ALL DID A VERY ADEQUATE DIGGING!
ROCK AND STONE
ROCK AND STONE IN THE HEART!!!
STRIKE THE EARTH
Wow, even after all this time this song fills me with such a sense of awe, Simon struck gold that day when he randomly started singing!
Reposting my comment since the video got re-uploaded:
This was absolutely fantastic! I'm so glad I got to be a part of this!
Stars above! I hadn't thought about Yogscast in years. But TLJ you definitely have the voices needed to lead a project like this, it's excellently done! Bravo!
I was working just now, and this song began playing. I tried focusing on my work however I burst into song promptly. This song always does this to me, having grown up with it in my young teenage years. It's always a dear.
Rock and stone brothers….rock, and, stone. *sheds a tear*
An incredible project that came out so well. Congrats lads. Seeing Simon and Lewis watch it for the first time brought this middle aged man to tears. Bravo.
Fantasy was once dominated by elves. The time of the Elf has ended, the Age of the Dwarf is here.
Words can't do justice to my elation at seeing this! It was so much fun, and a massive turnout as well! Thanks, Johns, Yogscast, and everyone involved.
One of my favorite songs done by one of my favorite bands, what's not to love
Those community songs must be some of the most beautiful things to watch on UA-cam. not only because of the music itself (which is great!), but because you bring together so many different people from all over the world, and it always makes me teary eyes to watch.
Keep doing this stuff please, its beautiful.
I’m so sad that I missed this, but I am happy that it happened.
Tack!
This is honestly fantastic, it was a pleasure to sing for you
I feel like this has a different sort of energy to the original. That was like the triumphant reprise of the main theme of a movie. This feels more like a version sung earlier on in the story, perhaps as we're being introduced to the mines for the first time. Both are fantastic, though I think the lack of drums hurts this version a little.
@0:45 center left of screen: I am a dog, and I'm digging a hole
Rock and Stone, brothers and sisters. Rock and Stone!
This was beautiful, it's funny how far this song have evolved, as many said, a Minecraft skit to a fanmade song to their official to a metal song by Wind Rose to now this lol! I love it when you guys do community versions of songs, it's always beautiful and fantastic!
0:11 axolotl plushies. OMG.
Fantastic. Thanks, lads and ladies -- all of you.
The digging was done expertly. Yet again I had a great time taking part in this community gathering of awesome. Much love to each and every one of you!
What makes this legendary is that you know “Diggy diggy hole” was created by the elves as a means to belittle the dwarfs. But much like the colonialists with “Yankee Doodle Dandy”, the dwarfs took it and ran with it.
On a related note…Whether you shout ”Rock and Stone” ”Baruk Khazâd” or ”Khazukan Kazakit-ha” …If your a Fan of Deep Rock, Tolkien, Warhammer, WoW, etc… May all of dwarf kind unite under this timeless masterpiece of a song. And of course, our hatred of all things elf.
Also both Celebrimbor and Narvi, Legalos and Gimli, and Malekith and -Grombrindol-Snorri Whitebeard definitely sing this together.
You know you have a good channel community when you see every type of person imaginable, with all different beliefs, cultures, and interests, all singing together.
This was so much fun to record! The harmonies absolutely slapped
A fine addition to my collection
i'm now at 16 diggy diggy holes versions on my personal playlist
I was there when these lyrics were first uttered from the lips of that magnificent dwarf during the age of the Shadow of Israphel.
I was there when the first formation of the song was made and I was there when this masterpiece was forged from the hearts of the Yogscast.
I am glad to have been able to witness such creative freedom and passion.
This video just shows how long and far this little song has touched people.
LOVED this one!! Was so fun to sing along, such an upbeat tune, and the final product is gorgeous!. Kudos to the community and the whole team that put this together!
This is brilliant! It's my dog's favorite song and he totally lost his sh*t when he watched this complete with bouncing up and down, super wagging of tail and trying to bark along!
I am so glad I was able to get in this time! LET US DIG FELLOW DWARVES!
i remember watching the fist diggy diggy hole on repeat, then the animation as soon as it came out, and listening to the actual song again and again, i was in awe when it came out
ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS!
So awesome to see this during the Jingle Jam - I feel blessed to be a part of this community. Thank you for putting this together!
Absolutely fantastic, Rock and Stone everyone! Great work.
this is amazing i love how many people dressed up or the one guy near the end using a kat to dig a hole its awesome i love this kind of stuff
You're telling me I missed a Community Project for Diggy Diggy Hole? I need to pay more attention and check in more often!
ROCK AND STONE
So glad I got to contribute to this! 1:59
This song helped me through some tough times in my life, I am a dwarf and I will keep digging a hole! No matter what life throws my way! Diggy Diggy Hole! 😁
The chorus is a funny simple summary of dwarves but the verses are beautifully detailed
I'm amazed at how brilliantly this came out! Absolutely overjoyed to be part of this, and it was great fun playing Where's Wally? at the end with all the friends I've made through the Yogscast communities! 🥰
Having this on loop now.. It's just amazing! First couple of times I watched it, I only found one tiny piece with me in, but after more careful watching, and more pausing, I've found a few more. it was easier after I learned which area of the whole thing I was in. Recognising my neighbours so to speak. Very happy my adorable bunnies got a good spot! And nice to see more bunnies too. And dogs! And all the fantastic people, of course :D Yay us! I'm so happy this happened. I thought of it some time before it was announced, how amazing it would be to do a community project of Diggy diggy hole. So high five to whoever thought of it too and then made it happen!
I’ve never done this before but this was an absolute blast! Thanks for the opportunity to join in on a song that defined my childhood
Here's to many more, brother. :)
This video was years in the making. So many people inspired by the original came together to create this masterpiece. I'm proud of this community and what they've made.
Happy to spot myself in the sea of faces! Just glad to be a part of this, even a little. :)
(Leaving a new comment due to reupload)
This came out amazing, I took part as well and I found myself in the video :D
Thanks for hosting this and thank you especially to the sound engineer who mixed this :D
Fun times, can't wait for the next community project
Been waiting for this. Excellent collab and wonderful cover.
all this time i still listen to this song
the music is still ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE
This is breathtaking!! I have legitimate chills!!
This makes my heart so happy to see all these people over a Minecraft song
Just how many people worked to make this! Great day in the morning I'm impressed that literally around a thousand people could harmonize so well!
I am in this! And this is such an amazing collaboration! Such good voices, such good compositions, so many passionate entries!
i really love this one. probably my favourite community project so far
Another brilliant community effort 🎉🎉🎉 👏👏👏
I Needed this!!! Thank you so much guys!
Thank you! It is incredible hat you made it possible for us to be a part of Yogs history!
Shivers. This was wonderful.
I absolutely cannot believe this is still as fire as it was all those years ago. Feels like yesterday. Man I'm gettingnold
It's... so beautiful...
by now the hole has become Moria.
Loving the clips of people digging holes, sometimes in the ground, sometimes into other things, and then a few miming the movements with a rake or a guitar and so on :D
This is so badass! I love being under 5'5" hahaha
This is amazing! This is one of my all-time favorite songs. I love finding new versions and covers of it. I'll always regret that I didn't hear about it in time to submit a video.
The 4th of December is Miner's Day in Poland (St. Barbara).
Another addition to my collection.
I SPOTTED ME! This was so amazing, I had so much fun!
Man, props to the ones who’s edited this. Was fun to be apart of even if I’d never find myself upon the see of dwarves. Loved it.
despite never being much of a yogscast fan (missed the boat i guess) Diggy Diggy Hole is probably one of the main reasons im obsessed with dwarves as a fantasy species today.
I know what we are all thinking and I'll just say it: ROCK AND STONE!
That's it lads, ROCK AND STONE!
holy hell this was a blast from the past
This song never fails to put a smile on my face. No matter the version, it is a uniting experience for every age of Minecrafter. While the times may have changes, let us never forget, the fun of Minecraft is what you make of it. Be it grand castles and superbuilds above, or massive, sprawling mines carved from the ground beneath, it all starts with a single hole for materials.
I was singing along as I watched, and I bet you did as well.
Words cant describe the excitement that came over me when I spotted myself
This sounds absolutely glorious! So awesome to take part in it.
Perfectly adequate! And finally I managed to find myself in a video of a community project! Proudly wearing my Wind Rose tour shirt for the occasion, even though you cannot see it :D
Thank you so much for letting me contribute to this. Dream legit come true and it turned out SO GOOD!
I really would've liked to be a part of this amazing project ! I was really excited to sing for it and even started training. Unfortunatly, my mother passed away and you could imagine I was in no mood to continue. Now that the song is here, I am so grateful. It is a wonderful masterpiece you all created ! Thank you very much for this amazing work, it gives me strenght to continue digging for a while !
I am a fan and I'm digging the song
This comment turned me sideways, thanks
Me and my friend love your music and love this song, hopefully will see you live next year!
Wow… This was incredible. Thank you guys all so much for working on this ❤
ROCK AND STONE!!!
My kids ask for this song CONSTANTLY. This is awesome.
Brothers of the mine rejoice!!!
So much fun to be part of this.
This turned out more fantastic on so many levels than I could ever have imagined! Proud of being part of this massive choir! And the bass gets me every time, as always 🤩
