Straight up, this is my life end goal. I've gone through countless display ideas but this takes the cake. I'm missing like, maybe ¼ of the amiibos left but, when I get them all you bet I'm doing something like this in the future. It isn't crowded, TOO flashy, or expensive. It just makes it feel like a nice home for collectibles. I love that. Really love the way you placed em too, it's a great touch. Thanks Austin!

Plum. EXE Wow, your the first person i’ve met that hasn’t been. When I was younger my family and I used to take “family vacations” to Ikea and we sometimes still do that now. It’s almost better than Disneyland.
Man, the nearest IKEA to me is 250+ miles away. The only reference I have for them is what little I've seen in random youtube videos and the jokes people make about getting lost inside. As much as I would love to go to one sometime and look around, there's no way you'd ever catch me making a nine or ten hour roundtrip drive to IKEA.
I live in Brooklyn, New York I’ve never been to IKEA.

Your office looks amazing
As a figure collector, I'd say investing/installing a glass door cover in the future would come in really handy. Over time, lints and dust may get on the amiibos and it could get stupidly annoying having to clean them.
Also: are you looking to use the bottom closet/drawer for potential future amiibos? Since amiibo prints money for Nintendo, we all know that they're gonna be more

I have a small Amiibo collection and a HUGE Skylanders collection that I’m looking to display…this video was helpful to realize I need a LOT more space than I thought I did if I want it to look really nice, rather than crowded. Thanks!!!
I'm super glad you did this video. I'm in the same boat with my amiibos and a lot of other collectibles as well and this gave me a lot of ideas, and I live a couple hours from an IKEA!

I'm extremely sad because I always wanted all of the legend of zelda amiibos for breath of the wild but all I have is wolf link...I could never find the others in stores...

I don't think that all of the BotW ones are still in production so I'm very doubtful you will find any in stores. Best bet is online.

I love these videos!! 7 years ago, when I only had like 20 amiibos, I bought 2 Baseball Bat Display Cases, but as soon as I got to 30, 40, 50..120 amiibos... it seemed more and more unreasonable and space consuming, so I had to sell them (i mean.. the displays) ...and I haven't yet found THAT great idea for a display!! Then I found this video and love to see there's another human with the same thought process and Ideas.
"viewer retention" on point, watched the full thing. I've been looking for cool ways to display my retro pokemon games and this was a good starting point. Thanks for the vid man!

See i was gonna say why not get what the grumps had in their old office but then I remembered limited space. Im kinda glad you showed us this cuz I don’t have amiibo but i want some and want to collect and having this type of thing to show how i could possibly organize. And i am of the 20%. I am truly, a real one.

The top light looks better for viewing on video because it doesn’t put as much shine on the top row

Thank you! You have a few more amiibo than I do but you care so much about making them look nice. I line up my smash ones based on fighter number and I always try to move them around so they’re not cramped

I was wondering if you happened to know what kind of shelves you have at 18:40? I've been wanting to display my consoles for a while and haven't been sure how to go about it, but I like what I saw you do.
That’s honestly a pretty damn dope setup and there’s nothing worse than rush hour traffic in NJ especially if you’re near Newark (although who REALLY wants to be in Newark?) anyway it was very interesting seeing your thought process and has given me ideas as to how to look at my own collection too. We live near each other shockingly so this was cool to see! Hello fellow NJ collector. As a boxed amiibo collector i wish these ideas worked for me to help save on space but ive been able to get by with my own shelves i had to make myself since Ikea didnt have anything for me that properly fit in my small room.
This appeals to me need to organize and display things. It looks awesome! Since I don't film and don't have to worry about the flash, I would definitely get a glass door to help keep the dust out.
A table with a sunken center and a glass surface top on hinges and you can look down at them while they are protected, then if you need one, open the table and use it and pop it back away. Then you can appreciate them while having tea or whatever.
I'm exhausted today and all I wanna do is sleep, but I stayed awake to watch your whole video. I love this kind of video

Made the top 20% of nerds who really like to look at amiibo displays 👍🏼 I used baseball bat display cases from Michael’s for my collection but that looks pretty slick too.

honestly thanks for this vid. i’m planning on redoing my shelving soon (i have a lot of pops but i’ve also got disney infinity and have started to collect amiibos) and now i know i really need to visit an ikea. i’m psure the closest one in my area is 3-4 hours away (thanks missouri) but wow, that setup looks so sharp now!

Just an idea though, how about you take 2 LED strips to light up each box from right and left? It looks like just one stripe from above doesn't give enough light for the whole box

The best one I've seen is with the speaker and hole cut outs to each one.
You could print out your own card stock like the Amazon display. And then maybe Etsy has a banner or name plate of Amiibo on it.

I watched the whole video and i got to say i actually liked the blue rgb. If you leave lights on at night that blue light would be cool and if you get even more. You can expand and have each section different colors just my 2 cents, either way though looks great!
I have seen amiibos / (pop figures mostly tho) displayed in a baseball bat display case and thought it looked nice, but I haven’t displayed any of my amiibos as of yet. Also I was part of the 20% that stay till the end of the video, your displays are always super cool to look at during your videos.
The inverted shelves from ikea is a good choice if an LED strip is behind the lip you are annoyed at. It would hide the lights that way and all your amiibos will be visible and have light.
Except the amiibo sit too close to the LEDs and it looks weird.
@@AustinJohnPlays hmm, good point. Maybe if that shelf has wider width the idea would be viable. Use a softer light perhaps? The same layout is what I used on my Nendoroid Collection. But it's on a glass display cabinet.

build a small diorama version of each of the Smash levels and place each of your amiibo as if they are fighting in the level. then make slightly larger dioramas from each of the other games and arrange your amiibo in each!

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm a Nintendo Fan and as adult who still loves playing video games. I recently started my Amiibo collection and need space for them.
I have 40 smash bros amiibo's and I found this very informative and helpful I'm currently using the hori amiibo display cases but I might look into some of the ones you mentioned.

I got really excited about this. Been looking into displays for mine for a while and never found anything i liked cause im in the same boat (all smash, all botw, all kirby, wolf link, smb luigi toad boo goomba troopa, yarn yoshi poochie, shovel knight, splatoon1 pack, odyssey pack, metroid pack, mm11... plus future ones... i have a lot to find a space for) but id love to see more of these types of vids!

Looks awesome!! I bought some clear wall shelves which are suppose to be for bathrooms but I put them in my room for my amiibos.
First off, I really enjoyed this video as I'm in the process of creating a gameroom in my home. Secondly, I have exactly zero Amiibos, but I do have an ever growing collection of Funko Pop figures and I may "steal" your idea to display them.

Personally I liked the video. You have a good sense of imagery. Not that this takes a carpenter to envision but just by looking at some pictures and knowing some measurements you almost accurately placed exactly what you thought and I’m gonna be honest it looks great!
