how did you carry on plus luggage work with the domestic airlines? I have the BEIS carry one which is also on the larger size and worries about domestic flights

Hi! Truthfully we planned on using it as a checked bag for this trip. From LA to Singapore, and then all the way to Tokyo we did choose to carry it on and it was no problem. Domestically, you’ll have to check with specific airlines on what their total dimensions are. (Plus different aircrafts will have different overhead bin sizes too.) Everything I packed technically still fits in my regular cabin carry on, but that one is polycarbonate and not aluminum so I didn’t want to check that one. So far I’ve gone in with the expectation that it will need to be checked domestically. We did have one incident with this bag where we came home internationally with it carried on, but our domestic transfer they made us gate check it. I am in Canada, though, and I have heard the larger Beis carry on has gotten rejected at gates.
