Sheryn's original version is calm and smooth while Morissette's version is fierce and anger. Both sang from their hearts and they both did it very very well! They both got the emotions so you can really feel the song🥰
I prefer Morissette because I am more comfortable with the belts and high notes but still got the emotions. If you chose Sheryn's then you are more comfortable with the calm and smooth one😗
Based from my observations, Sheryn got the emotion, runs, melody, rhythm, and resonance, while Morissette got the emotion, range, vocal techniques, dynamics, resonance, and belts. But overall, everyone did their BEST

I liked Sheryn's version as it focused on the pain and content of the song. It was storytelling. It felt like I was living the song. For me, Mori's was focused more on the song's technique of delivery, the acrobatics. I focused more on how she skillfully she sang rather than what the song was about. Just my opinion. That was how I felt. But both are great singers with standards up there.

Well for me, my most wanted part of Mori's performance is her emotions. Sheryn also got the emotions which is sadness, pain, and depression but for Mori, she includes, anger, 5 stages of grief, and suffer.

If you are making your OWN VERSION then would you just copy and imitate the ORIGINAL VERSION? If the original is calm and smooth, then your version is also calm and smooth, then that is not what you call a VERSION anymore, it is more likely a COVER only. And dear, Morissette is also known for her belts, range, and high notes and there is no performance of hers where I didn't see her struggle in singing high notes since I discovered her 4 months ago even though I am also a Filipino. Morissette's recent performance of the ROCK MEDLEY in the MITSUBISHI 8TH PIMS is what made me realize that Morissette has a HIGHER BELTING RANGE THAN REGINE VELASQUEZ which is also known for her BELTS and HIGH DYNAMICS! The music genre of that performance was ROCK so you know, ROCK also consists of tense, belts, and high notes. In that performance, she hit HIGH NOTES so EASILY MANY TIMES. Example, she belts one note there which is I think a B5 then after that, she just smiles again like that was nothing! And she did that many times!
