Monstrous chest voice development, resulting in wide sounding, full, resonant vocals throughout her vocal registers. A well developed chest voice also allows Morissette to execute all her signature stylistic embellishments, such as that visceral, powerful vocal "squeak" (whistle tone?!) that only she can execute! Sadly, most singers today are trained in the wrong way, abandoning proper chest voice development, resulting in a collapsed, hollow-sounding, falsetto-like voice in their middle to high vocal registers. Morissette is one of the few remaining "big voice" vocalists today, following the likes of Whitney Houston, Regine Velasquez, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Lashun Pace, Karen Clark, and many more. Additional Comments (after repeat-watching this performance): Morissette is a *SUPERIOR* vocalist, and I dare say the best in this generation, and she's only 26. She has A LOT of nuance in the vocal chord closure skills. She's got a lot more grey area between those light sounds, those medium sounds, and those heavy sounds than most vocalists. Do not listen to "modern" vocal coaches who teach the use of a "mix voice" for the middle vocal register. This will abandon your chest voice development! Keep singing a lot (i.e. Karaoke), and push your chest voice as high as you can, and once you reach the edge of your chest voice, your chest voice will naturally want to thin out. This is how you develop a TRUE head voice. What is a true head voice? A lighter form of chest voice! The head voice is just a lighter form of chest voice! Don't listen to modern vocal coaches who teach their students to sing in a "collapsed head voice" (having no core!), which is NOT a true head voice at all, but merely a form of falsetto voice that sounds hollow and lacking core! To train your low register, once again, you must start with developing your chest voice first! Then, you can learn how to lower your larynx and learn to use "open" vowels to unlock these lower notes. Remember: Develop your chest voice as the foundation first!

For me, it’s her tone. The richness and fullness of her voice especially when she hits the high notes is so pleasing to my ears. Sure, others are able to hit high notes too, but some are so piercing, painful and thin to the ears.

I responded by saying that there are a lot of GREAT female vocalists in the Philippines and elsewhere (with great fundamentals and great technique), *but there are levels to this.* The criteria always starts with *voice quality.* The openness of Morissette's vocal pipes is unmatched, capable of producing warmer and richer harmonics all throughout her vocal registers. Her voice has a strong second harmonic that is an octave above the note her vocal cords are producing. It's strong in proportion to her fundamental tone and it gives her voice an individual purity. The all-time greats have an individual purity to their voice. Think Barbra Streisand. Think Whitney Houston. Think Celine Dion. Think Diana Ross. When Morissette ascends up to her belting range, the harmonics of her voice maintains a velvety richness and warmth, with added brightness and clarity. Most sopranos in her class have a shrill, piercing quality to their upper belts. The quality of Morissette's middle range is where she demolishes the competition. She will use an intentional vocal squeak onset on one pitch, then, immediately follow that up with a growl onset on the next pitch, and then use another vocal squeak to offset the note. And, she's belting while doing this and switching into different chest voice/head voice coordinations. *Casuals have little to no understanding of how insane her level of vocal control is.* They hear the "vocal squeaks" and move on. What I am witnessing is insane vocal acrobatics. *She's an anomaly.* It's all just a matter of refinement now, as she matures. I hope this helps. I am simply trying to explain to people how superior Morissette is. *On her best day, she is the best female vocalist in her class, without a question.*

I believe, her social acc will getting open it up when Mori start her new era at international mkt. Mori market demand is there. The way this song is arranged requires a singer with a mastery of two singing modes: 1) Light, vulnerable, intimate voice; 2) Big, heavy, guttural, gritty, "rock" voice. Monstrous chest voice development, resulting in wide sounding, full, resonant vocals throughout her vocal registers. A well developed chest voice also allows Morissette to execute all her signature stylistic embellishments, such as that visceral, powerful vocal "squeak" (whistle tone?!) that only she can execute! Sadly, most singers today are trained in the wrong way, abandoning proper chest voice development, resulting in a collapsed, hollow-sounding, falsetto-like voice in their middle to high vocal registers. Morissette is one of the few remaining "big voice" vocalists today, following the likes of Whitney Houston, Regine Velasquez, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Lashun Pace, Karen Clark, and many more.
Additional Comments (after repeat-watching this performance):
Morissette is a *SUPERIOR* vocalist, and I dare say the best in this generation, and she's only 26. She has A LOT of nuance in the vocal chord closure skills. She's got a lot more grey area between those light sounds, those medium sounds, and those heavy sounds than most vocalists. Hers is one, long, grey spectrum, from her lightest (i.e. airy, disconnected falsetto) to her heaviest sounds (i.e. visceral vocal cries, growls) with NO gaps in the compression skills. She can go from ANY volume, ANY timbre variation, ANY distortion, ANY tone modification, ANY vowel - you ask for it, she can do it. Her signature vocal "squeaks" (whistle register?!) are unparalleled. Only she can execute that. *Her middle register, the often neglected vocal register among full sopranos, is her greatest asset. It's monstrously developed, so powerful, with a precise vibrato.* Her high register remains wide and full in tonality unlike many full sopranos whose tone gets way too thin in the upper range. Her low register is reaching elite levels (see her 2022 cover of Adele's "When We Were Young"). Her stylistic choices will become even more refined. Her trajectory is to possibly become the most technically gifted vocalist that has ever come out of the Philippines. I say this with utmost respect to Regine Velasquez, Lani Misalucha, Dessa, Bituin Escalante, Vernie Varga, Jaya, Sheryn Regis, Jona Viray, Kyla Alvarez, Charice Pempengco, Katrina Velarde, and many more great Filipino vocalists who have paved the way for a singer like Morissette. Do not listen to "modern" vocal coaches who teach the use of a "mix voice" for the middle vocal register. This will abandon your chest voice development! Keep singing a lot (i.e. Karaoke), and push your chest voice as high as you can, and once you reach the edge of your chest voice, your chest voice will naturally want to thin out. This is how you develop a TRUE head voice. What is a true head voice? A lighter form of chest voice! The head voice is just a lighter form of chest voice! Don't listen to modern vocal coaches who teach their students to sing in a "collapsed head voice" (having no core!), which is NOT a true head voice at all, but merely a form of falsetto voice that sounds hollow and lacking core! To train your low register, once again, you must start with developing your chest voice first! Then, you can learn how to lower your larynx and learn to use "open" vowels to unlock these lower notes. Remember: Develop your chest voice as the foundation first!

I responded by saying that there are a lot of GREAT female vocalists in the Philippines and elsewhere (with great fundamentals and great technique), *but there are levels to this.* The criteria always starts with *voice quality.* The openness of Morissette's vocal pipes is unmatched, capable of producing warmer and richer harmonics all throughout her vocal registers. Her voice has a strong second harmonic that is an octave above the note her vocal cords are producing. It's strong in proportion to her fundamental tone and it gives her voice an individual purity. The all-time greats have an individual purity to their voice. Think Barbra Streisand. Think Whitney Houston. Think Celine Dion. Think Diana Ross. When Morissette ascends up to her belting range, the harmonics of her voice maintains a velvety richness and warmth, with added brightness and clarity. Most sopranos in her class have a shrill, piercing quality to their upper belts. The quality of Morissette's middle range is where she demolishes the competition. Her mid-belts have a powerful output yet rounded, with a powerful forward ping (squillo) for a non-opera singer. Her lower range also has more bass overtones when compared to most female vocalists in her class.
A lot of casual listeners today don't really understand or prioritize voice quality (i.e. tone, harmonics, overtones), so their evaluation of vocalists is flawed from the start. They don't really understand the nuances of voice quality, and instead will go crazy over melismas and fast vocal runs, which is not a main ingredient to good singing (only a garnish).
*On top of the voice quality, Morissette is miles ahead in textural dynamics.* Her vocal compression skills are on a different level, capable of producing the vocal effects that she's known for: the vocal break onsets, the growl onsets, the vocal fry, the vocal distortions, etc. that add grit and style. To be able to incorporate those intentional vocal squeak onsets to her pitch, requires an *insane level* of vocal cord closure skills. *I can't emphasize this enough:* Her level of control in the opening/closing of her vocal cords, in coordination with her other singing muscles, is unmatched in the Philippines, or elsewhere for that matter. She will use an intentional vocal squeak onset on one pitch, then, immediately follow that up with a growl onset on the next pitch, and then use another vocal squeak to offset the note. And, she's belting while doing this and switching into different chest voice/head voice coordinations. *Casuals have little to no understanding of how insane her level of vocal control is.* They hear the "vocal squeaks" and move on. What I am witnessing is insane vocal acrobatics. *She's an anomaly.* It's all just a matter of refinement now, as she matures. I hope this helps. I am simply trying to explain to people how superior Morissette is. *On her best day, she is the best female vocalist in her class, without a question.*

Man .. might just be me but it feels like as a fan I'm watching Morissette banging her head against that barrier into the global market and it feels like she will every time but is just short of the recognition.. yet she keeps producing, and putting out a product that should be there. I'm not saying the western market is better but in reality it's much bigger and if she can reach that audience she could create generational wealth for her family. The only way you reach Adele-level popularity is if you get the backing of the big recording companies. I honestly don't want this gem to be handled (mis-handled!) by these big studios who will re-package her incorrectly and stifle her artistic development. These big studios may just take away the soul and passion behind her music. One of my all-time favourite vocalists is Rachelle Ferrell. She never got as popular as Whitney Houston, but she has the respect and notoriety within the industry. She is a living legend in the music industry.

Which you probably can see, her Instagram has nearly heading to million subscribers, her own youtube channel from the very beginning few hundreds to now is more half a million subs, and her others social media accounts as well. I believe, her social acc will getting open it up when Mori start her new era at international mkt. Mori market demand is there. As a OPM artist, whose else reach her combine all social media viewership in 141M within short periods of time. (this figure does not include all individual reactor and views in WishBus.)
