Transcripción de la Historia en Inglés: Silverius was an experienced alpha wolf and the leader of a pack. All his companions admired and respected him because, for a long time, he had demonstrated his bravery, humility, and strength. However, there was something that the rest of the pack didn’t like, and if it weren’t for his qualities, it would have already cost him his position in the hierarchy. Silverius always insisted on hunting the biggest, strongest, and fastest prey. The discontent among some wolves grew because, very close to the area where they lived, there was another group of wolves led by a certain Vulture, a young and unscrupulous wolf who had become the alpha leader thanks to his efficient tricks to get food with little effort. Vulture's pack didn’t waste time selecting their best prey. They waited for night to cover them with its cloak to approach the nearby human settlement with the aim of attacking and feeding on the cattle. Sheep, goats, pigs, excellent quality meat and with little difficulty. Meanwhile, many members of Silverius’s pack were outraged by the situation, as they didn’t understand why they had to work so hard while their neighbors had it so easy. They tried to convince Silverius to change their tactics, but he always refused, saying the same phrase: “I know what I’m doing and why I’m doing it; you trust me.” No one could get a different answer from him, much less make him change his mind. Only his respectable qualities prevented his removal. For a long time, the situation remained the same: Silverius’s pack hunting strong prey and Vulture’s pack taking advantage of the human corrals. But this changed when the townspeople grew tired of the abusive band of wolves. Rifles in hand, they went into the forest to drive away all the canines, regardless of whether they belonged to the criminal gang they were looking for or not. As if that weren’t enough, all the nearby towns joined the cause, forcing both groups of wolves to undertake an exodus to move away from the humans. Eventually, they found a place where they would be safe. Water, shelter, and food were abundant. However, Vulture’s group encountered an unpleasant surprise: The deer, reindeer, antelope, and other prey that lived there, and which represented a feast, were even faster and stronger than those from their original region. This, combined with the little exercise they were used to, as they only needed to sneak into a farm to get their food, caused the pack to suffer many hardships and forced them to feed on small, unsatisfying prey. Now it was Vulture’s pack that was discontent, as they noticed that the wolves led by Silverius had little trouble hunting the delicacies offered by the new settlement. Since always, they had been accustomed to hunting prey that posed a greater challenge, so it was easy for them to adapt to the new conditions. One way or another, Vulture’s pack also survived. Eating rodents, insects, or in some extreme cases, even plants, they managed to adapt. Years passed, and youth abandoned Vulture, but the harsh experiences taught him much more valuable things than his old tricks. On one occasion, a group of young wolves approached him to complain. They didn’t agree with always being required to go after the most difficult prey. Besides, they had heard from some coyotes that there were human settlements where getting food was much easier. They wanted to convince him to change their strategies for less demanding methods, but Vulture, who now had many years of experience, simply limited himself to telling them: “I know what I’m doing and why I’m doing it; you trust me.” We live in a historical moment where we want everything to be easy; we don’t want to make an effort, and when we have to, we see it as a punishment or something bad. Successful, wise, and capable people aren’t made by looking for the easy way or comfort. Occasionally, taking the long or harder road will leave us with numerous lessons that will make the journey easier; not because the world becomes easier, but because you will become stronger and more capable. On the other hand, always taking shortcuts and wanting things handed to us, far from helping, only harms us.
