Lol that was the time we call jiahua smart and always winning argument over jiaxin. But now, when i see chenlv, damn he twist the words and make people admit what he said is just another level. Now i want to see a bickering jiahua vs chenlv which one is going to win😅
Is everyone calling their boyfriend "brother" in the gay chinese world just to make it vague/ less direct? just wanna know because it's often to see these between couples addressing each other.
This is a bit tricky one, Because if you are in a Heterosexual relationship, we still call hc other brother and sister…. So if you are a girl and you are being with a man you are likely calling him brother(Gege)
China often uses honorifics/titles to address people. It's common to use the suffix "-ge" (~older brother) for an older male you're close to. Same goes for "-di" (~younger brother) for a younger male you're close to. You also have equivalents for women. You'd use -jie for one older than you and -mei for a younger one.
Many countries in (if not all of) Asia refers to everyone by familial terms even you’re not related. So calling someone older/younger brother isn’t literal, it’s just a polite way of referring to an older/younger male.
It feels like a vivid dream to finally watching chenlv with his boyfriend lmaoo
