I've lived here 5.5 years (& My husband is born and raised here) so I'm finally putting together a list of our top things to do, both touristy and things we just personally love. Hong Kong is a great place to travel to on any budget! You can eat, shop & do things in a very budget friendly way as many activities are free and there's a lot of inexpensive markets. There's also a lot of luxury shops, restaurants and hotels if you want to splurge! I had a lot of fun this week showing my friends from Canada (& you!) around!!

Ahh...Ritz Carlton 103 is really beautiful but for a nice view, I'd also recommend Nobu restaurant and Nan Lian Garden has a super lovely vegetarian restaurant as well =)

I visited HK in January and saw almost all of those touristy spots, HK is amazing even if you think you won't like a big city you have to go there its just amazing!

I used the same Chinese notebook Tom used when I was in elementary school in Toronto for weekend Chinese school classes! Those are old school! Unfortunately, I have forgotten a lot of what I learned, since I seldom read and write in Chinese.

Check out Yau San St. Yuen Long if you want more local style inexpensive street food. Your foodie videos had so much focus on the HK Island and Kowloon regions, but New Territories also have many hidden gems.

Thanks for this video Taylor, I'm born in HK but live in the UK for over 40 years, I visit HK regularly, so some of these tips will come in handy for my next visit next month, will probably avoid the mass touristy places, but the food places will get a check out, some I've visited before!

Hey Taylor, nice video couple of recommendations for you, The wisdom path right by the big buddha is nice, also Chi Lin Nunnery is so peaceful and lovely I love taking my friends there when they visit. finally I had to giggle when you called the South China Sea a Lake (oops moment - I was waiting for the '* its a sea' in the video glad to see you having such a nice time with friends :) x x x
I prefer to go where there aren't thousands of people.
Try a hike from Chai Wan up over Dragon's Back to Shek O Beach.
Then there's 100KM of hiking trails in the MacLehose Trail taking you through peaceful and undeveloped areas.
I enjoy trying the different egg tarts...as little as 3 kuai in some places
This vlog with all the timelapses and you being with friends, it remind me a lot of the vlogs you did in Japan! It felt cozy! I never really had a big interest in China, but seeing this video it seems like a wonderful place to visit! I'll add it to my list

I think you nailed all the ‘must see’ - maybe you could have taken your friends to Cheng Chau Island or one of the other islands as they have a very unique character.
A lot of people I know want to go to the floating restaurant Jumbo, I went there for lunar New Year’s meal with family and it was pretty good, tho definitely touristy.
I forgot to mention wong tai sin temple (much more interesting to me than man no, although it’s just my opinion) and nan lian garden, I still haven’t been there myself but I heard it’s beautiful 😍 it’s a great video anyway ❤️

I haven't done it because it is a little on the pricier side for locals. One of the last person who hand makes mahjong tiles offer hands on lessons on how to make them. I think the shop is in Mong Kok, but I can't find an exact address.
There is always Ocean Park.
The Teaware Museum in Hong Kong Park is a nice short visit, it is in the oldest British built building in HK.
There are some remote fishing villages that still produces sea food.
Look at the Chinese Calendar, there are small festivals in certain neighborhoods where they set up a temporary stage to perform Canton opera.
There are the toy malls in Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei (granted this isn't really that much of interest to your audience demographics) They are like Akihabra contained inside small little shopping malls.
The computer malls in Sham Shui Po. Electrical component street, clothing distributer street, and counterfeit toy street are also in Sham Shui Po.
Oi! is an art center in North Point.
Soho East in Sai Wan Ho, also the Film Archive.
The History Museum can be interesting in TST.
You can try out some VR arcade or escape room.
There is a brand new Buddhist Sculpture Museum, but it is booked for like two months.
A visit to Stanley, but that's pretty much a tourist trap.
