- @walkingwithbill visits Moelfre on the east cost of Anglesey with its lifeboat station and museum. It was near here in October 1859 that the Royal Charter was shipwrecked in the final part of its long journey from Australia to Liverpool; of the 490 souls on board only 40 survived. Today there is a lifeboat museum and sculptures at Moelfre to remember those who perished and those brave men and women who attempted to save their lives.

Lovely walk Bill - you couldn't have asked for better conditions. Nice and calm today but the RNLI have seen far worse and been out in it. Hats off to them. All the best. Mark
Yes the lifeboat crews go out in weather that most of us wouldn't go out of the house in, and they are all volunteers. Moelfre is a small village with heroic stories. Thanks for the comments Mark.
