Try to spam just 0-0-0 supers next map, the 1 pierce makes the darts explode on target, effectively dealing 10 damage per shot. It's beyond broken
your right, i tested the price thing and it does give them more expensive and +40% attack speed, overall its not worth

No, it’s not common in roguelikes to have tons of money. It’s just that in most games it’s always good to buy a new relic, but in Rogue Legends many relics have crippling downsides, so you end up not buying anything because everything you can buy makes you worse lol
Yeah they really gotta fix that. Upgrades should feel good and rewarding
@ yeah, what really upsets me is that you can’t even feel the difference in most relics. Like, 90% of them are just simple stat changes…

Eh, I end up with 99 coins and 100+ destroyed to overflow in half of my Binding of Isaac games, but I agree that it isn't the most common. I do not believe it is bad for relics to have downsides, though, I agree that the upside should in most situations make up for the downside even without synergy, which is a problem in Rogue Legends.

Yeah I think this dlc suffers a lot from a lack of variety in artifacts, especially interesting ones that promote different/experimental play styles. Seems like most of them just boost some stat at the cost of another one

To be fair it did just launch. My assumption is that we'll get more artifacts in the future with updates. The lack of variety is a major issue, though, yes. In fact, there's so few that you're practically guaranteed to run into any given artifact in some rarity (minus ones that can only be legendary, of course) over the course of any given full game run. I feel this greatly worses Splodey Darts being so overpowered; it's run-defining when you get it no matter your build, but you're almost always going to find it at some point. It homogenizes runs, unfortunately.

I was gonna say I was thinking he was missing that for a while, like I was wondering if the Magic Synergy artifact he passed up 5m in would have buffed all of his towers instead of just magic ones. That dreadbloon artifact just sounds busted

6:10 can confirm, essence of dreadbloon makes it so that artifacts with downsides to specific monkey types gives all monkeys both the buff and the debuff (overwhelming sinergy will give all monkeys the attack speed buff but will also make magic monkeys 20% more expensive aswell
Phayze is insanely brutal in this gamemode. Got him as my final boss on Quiet Street with a mostly tack based setup (TZ/Sbrit), and he just jumps past your defence, removes the camo just as his decamo wears off, and spawned FDDTs from his portal to kill me in like 3 seconds.
I recommend to extract a Dreadbloon and after that start with Phayze as a Boss, so you can do the other 4 Stages with no camo problems ever.
@@CASyHD. I just lost my first run on stage four with Vortex as my boss on muddy puddles, dud zipped ZOMGs right past my defense on like the first round - eff that - what was I suupposed to do?
How is Isab surprised at how fast the race was😭. He has homing, bouncing, and 9 dmg explosions on everything, combined with like 200% attack speed and damage

What would make this mode a bit better would be if you could send Bloons race style to shorten easy encounters

28:43 that moment you see that the end of the video is 12 and a half minutes away, even though he is at the final boss.
I had the"all monkeys count towards every Category" and 3 of the "x type monkey attacks faster but the rest cost more" and the " support monkeys have a chance to crit". The result was a sun temple for 200k that did 200mio boss dmg in one of these events. Resulting in 165 bloonarius kills. completly bonkers.
So far the only thing I don't like about this mode are the temporary boosts.
I think interrupting the player in the middle of gameplay is generally a sin, which is why usually the rewards are given after clearing a level or room, not in the middle of it. The constant temporary boost interruption would make me rage if I was playing, but it's not so bad if I'm just spectating haha.
Still, it has been a blast to watch you play Rogue Legends and hopefully it'll continue for a while :)

I've never really been into playing races or bosses too much, but having it all in one gamemode with the many different effects for the towers will make it much more enjoyable for me!!

wait sticky situation with the dreadbloon buff goes incredibly hard with glue storm. straight 50% dmg buff to all towers almost permanently.
You are going to LOVE the essence of phase, to bad you got it at the end because it is in my opinion the best boss artifact in the game
Theres a silly glitch i havent seen anyone talking about if you click the select button for temp boosts and monkeys rapidly or with an auto clicker you can get a lot of duplicate boosts
Something I’ve noticed using splody darts is that it specifically states it explodes when the projectiles expire, not when it hits something, so pierce is actually bad.
Overwhelming synergy benefits all your towers thanks to essence of dreadbloon, doesn't it?

That boss fight was funny to watch. One second I can count the pixels the next it’s beautiful.
if you open "artifacts" while on the map and click on one you can press the minus icon to delete it, so for you too many cooks was bad so you couldve removed it while extracting smth different or skipping extraction (if you read the text extraction means ready for future runs so better to put smth useful there)

I encountered a 120k hp bloonarius too but i had a t5 205 druid and honestly it made lightwork of it and the insides i beat it before 35 even came around
Not only does the map play a huge factor in the difficultly but the challenges themselves vary widely. There are two different types of races. There's your traditional race of clearing so many rounds in so many minutes. Then there's the much easier you have so much time, how many pops can you get. The balance on the 2nd one doesn't seem very good as it you can obliterate the legendary pop goals most of the time. Where as the traditional race ones can be very hard, as ISAB found out on stage 2 or 3 (a previous video).
Some fun facts about artifacts
With esplodi darts a single sun avatar bottom path can solo entire bloon encounters because you don't need purple popping, the energy projectiles die to purples and explode them immediately. This is also why taking pierce upgrades might make your single target dps suffer - darts only explode when they die, not if they pierce through a boss.
Another weird thing is homing projectiles will actually home in on the strongest bloon no matter the targeting (but in a set range)
I almost died like that on dark path because my supper kept shooting moabs and bloons were close to leaking.
Another thing with dreadbloon artifact - quickening might actually hurt you at some point, the buffs stack exponentially and the projectiles speed might get so fast that the projectiles spawn behind the bloons, but you will need like 6 of them at least.
I am honestly enjoying watching this game mode, its pretty fun

It took me probably 7 hours and 5-10 attempts of pain but finally got to stage 4 on a good run. Now my game is bugged out and it skipped me from the first few encounters...all the way to the end. It's been like that for a couple days now.. hopefully they respond as this is fairly disappointing to happen on the weekend.
Edit - This is wild what you're showing us, I can't wait to progress further! hopefully they can put me back at the start of stage 4. I had just beat Phayze which grants camo detect to everything. An insane buff.
How can you back out of this gamemode? Whenever I click home, it costs me 1 life

You can super boost you towers by spam selecting the quicking buff
For the last boss fight it might've been good to have something in the front to slowly damage bloonarius and break down skulls, then have the D in the back to clean up the insides.
Legends cant decide whether it wants to go the Enter The Guneon route and have strong but not game breaking items, or The Binding Of Isaac route and literally dare you to break it.
27:00 if you picked the Follow Me artifact you'd have dart monkeys and super monkeys shooting 24/7 with homing projectiles. I did a run with this combo earlier today and it's one of the most OP/fun synergies

I am physically unable to shake off the feeling that legends' ost sounds incredibly similar to the one from the old age of war/age of defence games. Like, eerily similar.
Seeing the pool and pontoon cost monkey money reminds me of all those unofficial times people made powers cost in game cash. And also makes me curious how that "special agents only" mission would play out in this game
Blastapopoulos took forever to drain heat because if it starts draining and then a kill happens fast enough to get the heat bar back up to full it overheats again, i'm pretty sure it doesn't even regain heat while draining if you kill it without a possible overheat
As for the rogueness of Rogue Legends... well, it's not as rogue as it could be. The relics definitely need some balance tweaking. Pretty much all downsides need to be reduced a little, and some of the no-downside relics need retuning or possibly their own downsides. Additionally, the token abundance is indeed a little much. I think the thing is with Ninja Kiwi is that they're trying to cater to their less talented players, or players who never played roguelixes before. They're having a hard time catering to everyone's demands. The true solution to cater to everyone's demands would be to either implement an ever-ramping endless mode, or to add increasing tiers of difficulty that you only unlock after completing an entire run (stage 1-5).
In general... Rogue Legends is a good idea and I definitely think it'll work as it is mechanically (assuming updates add new challenges/bosses too), but the token economy and relic balance need a lot of work. You probably have more influence than me... even touching on this in your videos may be a step in the right direction, as I know you want to make Rogue Legends work.
To be clear, I'm not a roguelixe expert, but even I can see that "yeaahhh... this isn't the best it can be". I always have good faith, especially in Ninja Kiwi, so simply bringing these issues to their attention could help a lot. If I could make them do anything, I'd have them reach out to an actual roguelixe designer, even hire him temporarily, to help make the gamemode into the best it can be.
Unrelated, but something I DO like is that it appears that some artifacts don't have a common variant (there's a few legendaries that say 'two' when they should say 'three'). That's a pretty neat way to implement relic rarity without an algorithm, but I DO think they have some sort of algorithm.
First one was a good pick because Essence of Bloonarius would've made it affect all of your towers, not just magic monkeys

Yeah, bloonarius is absolutely brutal. It wrecked me on stage 3 when I thought I had a pretty good run. The insides were just too much. At least the essence is good when you win
Surg essence of dreadbloon you can take any boost, they apply to all monkeys! Unless you have holes in your defense just take the highest rank boost, I stop picking towers once I have all the bases covered

I think rogue legends was by far the best addition for the longevity of bloons, it's such a good mode and well well worth ten buckaroos although there is a bad side it's the absurd lag on mobile especially older phones it does need some optimization tweaking

I also have been experiencing some crazy lag on these boss events. I got a lvl 51 dart paragon and sold everything else and was still lagging a lot. I got phaze to 99. I do have a nice PC as well.
The price for each tier upgrade on a tower goes up each time a tier one is 15% higher then 20% then 30% then 35% and 40% for tier 5
Isab if you don't like a perk use the red minus button through the menu to get rid of it instantly

the more i see these synergies everywhere the more i wanna buy the DLC. mannn i love roguelikes but im still so unsure
i got like 30 hours already. it’s fun. only issue i have is ballon encounters can be tedious. other than that it’s a solid 8/10 so far !
Buying the dlc is the most humbling experience ever, thought I was decent, or I just got unlucky idk, but after 12 runs I didn't beat the first stage yet, too overcooked imo
@@nickopdenkelder9543 the first few runs without a good starter are incredibly tough. if you want an easier time i would reset until you get either vortex or phayze and start w default quincy since the starting monkeys can pop all bloon types if you upgrade the dart to 0-0-4. i mentor it asap and then use that to carry myself until i get good set up. beat map 1 before you get to bloon encounters with rounds beyond 34. ddts are trouble until you get good counters 😂
@@nickopdenkelder9543 There's a luck factor in getting good relic choices. And because of how the challenges work, you end up snowballing if you start with some good luck. The difficulty for the first couple levels is also determined by your hero choice. I had to give up trying to make it through on Roaslia, but Sauda was super easy.

I think you could have used the shops to get rid of Too Many Cooks, by getting something else that doesn't nerf you and paying for it with the relic you don't want anymore instead of using the geraldo tokens
a bug that causes lag, but I'm not sure if it's the cause.
the artifacts that provide critical, will cause lag if you have artifacts that make the monkeys be all categories, and cause critical in many moabs.
the stage is correspondent with the tier of boss, so T4 Bloonarius in this case, hence BADs
hypersonic extra damage zigzagging homing bouncing exploding darts is crazy

The biggest glaring issue is definitely the relics having way too many downsides. Comparing it to TBOI the the items in TBOI are mostly good except for the quality 0 items but most of those don’t have humongous downsides and can work well with other items (Curse of the tower and pyromaniac as an example) but in this it feels to much like their trying to limit you

You can remove artifacts pretty much always, just press on your current artifacts and there should be an option to remove them
maybe nk should keep the backing-out round tower availability bug. Its not like you are literally saving a run by backing out, this is more balanced in some ways

I managed to play my cards perfectly so I was able to have a few T2 dartling gunners under a MIB solo the final final boss (i had bloonarius). I 100% think dartling gunner is the most broken tower in the new dlc.
Was painful watching isab look for specific artifacts to buff certain catagories like military or primary when he has essence of dreadbloon 😂
speakin' at someone who has played thousands of hours of many different roguelites, i can say with confidence that something like essence of dreadbloon was always going to be extremely overpowered in a game like this lmao. in some ways it ought to be nerfed because it's going to end up homogenizing more specialized builds into the same general thing, but also it's just a damn good time to play with clearly soooooo :P

You rejected the faster military and faster magic after getting dreadbloon. They do not have any downsides once you have the dreadbloon relic as they do not raise the price.
You should try a legends run trying to survive as long as possible taking all the bad legendary artifacts.
The fact, that you can prerecord and releas the parts a day after another must be a godsent for personal life
