I always thought that the term whiskey throttle was hammer down full throttle and not giving a snot about what’s in front of, behind, or overhead.
We've all done this at some point... especially as kids on our dirt bikes.
My Pan America won't allow whiskey throttle. If the bike is not under load, or not in gear, it will not allow high revs (not even) , cool safety feature.
Putting the throttle on the break hand is problematic sometimes.

WT is why Harleys and other big twins are much more dangerous bikes for beginners than even race replicas. I had it happen to me years ago while demoing a Buell. Cruising around at low rpm with one hand on the throttle, I hit a pot hole. It jarred my wrist enough that bike shot forward like a rocket with me clinging on with one hand which was turning the throttle ever harder as the front wheel begins to loft. I dabbed the rear brake and got things back under control, but it was an eye opener.
Big inline 4s with lots of power at the top end of the rev range are no real threat to newbies as cruising around at low rpms is all about like driving a Honda Civic. If you hit a bump and jostled the throttle, they wont respond by taking off w/o you. You really need to kick them down a couple gears and get the engine spinning to get them to act silly.
Big Twins OTOH, don't make a lot of power, but what the do make is available from very low in the rev range. The weight of the big touring models tames that accidental throttle lurch a bit, but put a big twin in a small light chassis like a Buell and one best be minding their Ps and Qs...
