Thumbs up on the podcast. Good on you for living your best life as a young guy in a dream job. Altho, when I saw the title, I thought you meant an epic 7 mile ski run LOL.
I've often contemplated pursuing such a job for maybe just one or two ski seasons once I'm older, but I never quite knew what it would have for me. This is exactly what I needed, and the comments are the extra motivation. I don't know what to say, but thank you? I have no clue what the future has in store for me, but this is a much more appealing option to me now.
hey i would like to ask you some questions about that. im going to be in a similar situation soon. can you give me your insta oder something like that? :D
Hello! Awesome video and amazing experiencie, I am a little curious to look for a job as a lifty. Even though I don't have strong experiencies skiing I was told that I can have an interview and maybe be able to get a job. Wold you recomend this job for a rookie? If you do what recomendations can you give me? I have worked in so many areas in the tourism industry, lately at cruises, I love to keep learning new things... Thanks for showing. Subscribed!
Nice edited video blog. I just applied work for ski season in NZ about 8 jobs, got rejected from lifty, got offered a barista job, and I think I got a few bartender job offers for ski season coming in now. I actually worked lifty before but for me was a bit boring you make it look more fun.
@@milzyywilzyy9922 There is heaps of jobs but no accommodation in Queenstown, its fun to live there for a bit but also gets a bit tiring sometimes. I stayed longer and summer was way nicer.
@@milzyywilzyy9922 Not sure about that area, maybe apply the ski resorts in Queenstown and request accommodation with work. Even hostels are hard to stay now. By way I ended up just bartending as the money was better.
You got a dang microwave? Wow.. well atleast where I am I get a 1/2 an hour lunch and we get to ride the lift back down. Also we get 2 breaks, one before lunch halfway from when we start and the 2nd from after lunch halfway from when we end.
Depends on the resort. Some are bike parks in the summer so still need to operate the lifts. Most guys just do it to be close to the mountain so they can ski/board in their time off. There will be a core of maintenance and management who have permanent positions, but most operators are younger more transient people. It aint exactly a career with prospects of massive promotions and I don't expect it pays fantastically, but like I said, the snow draws them in......
Being a lifty was the best job I ever had. I’m definitely going to go back one day.
“Don’t wanna waste” throws them in trash bin 😂😂

Never seen a lifty who listens to Ben Shapiro
it made me happy to see raisins being thrown in the trash
Randomly interesting! Do you get a snowmobile to get to your lift or a snowboard?
Looks like he boards to me.......
Ok in the biggining (in your car) you had ur dog what ahppened to him once you got to the mountian?
Niiiicceee bro...
I’d hate this job simply because I’d be jealous of all the people on the slopes.
1978 did a stint at Stowe , T bar lifty , $2.50 an hour.
Do you get any tips? I'm hired as lift operator for wat program but it doesn't really pay too good.
Cool video. Should pick a better podcast to listen to tho
no security bar ?
Are you guys hiring?
Thank you for this I just got a job up at beaver creek Colorado as lift operator and this helped me a lot any tips??
I just got offered a job at beaver creek as well two days ago do they help with getting to Colorado from home
Did Stowe VT T lift. $2.50 an hour, boring as all get out.
Thumbs down just for throwing away raisins. How dare you!
Get to ski to ur lift on fresh groomers no one has touched is very nice and a perk to the job
I love how nobody felt the need to move the packages into the building they just moved them to the side

i just recently started working as a ski lift operator, thank you for sharing a bit of your perspective/knowledge
Do you get time to ski, if so how much or how does it work.
@@cameronpow2680 i only get time to ski on my days off but i dont even ski.
When the lift closes do the people at the top tide down or ski/ quad down if summer

He literally showed the sign at the resort on the drive up.......

hey uh can being a ski operator be a part time job like only for winter or u have to only work there
