"Jack" Hexum was my (Springboard) Diving coach at Tenakill Swim Club. He was a great guy, an incredible athlete and crazy diver. At a coaches tournament when I was 15 (and one of the diving judges) we all gave him 10s for being the only one nutty enough to throw a 4 and 1/2 off a 3 meter diving board. Sad demise of a fantastically talented guy.

With all he handsome looks and great talent, this film shows he was really just an all-American “boy next door”, which only makes him more endearing.

He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound while on the set of 'Cover-Up' in 1984. He wasn't suicidal. He was playing around with the revolver loaded with blanks. But the type of blanks was made of wax and paper wadding that can be lethal within a few feet, and he had it pressed against his right temple when he pulled the trigger.

Ok... See how odd is this situation. Me, a brasilian girl, trying to understand what they're singing in an old (sorry 1976 folks) footage. This is what happens when the first memory in television of your life is with a tall blonde guy travelling the world with a cutie boy. Jon gave nothing but the best intertainment of all my life, so he deserves that attention from me. Thank you for sharing what you received so kindly.

Yeah, JP was so full of life, it makes his sudden absence all the more striking. I keep expecting to get a letter in the mail with a Tigger sticker on it! We just put up a memorial for him on the website. Check it out! He will be sorely missed.

This was amazing. I felt so privileged being allowed to watch it and to get a glimpse into this part of Jon-Erik's life. Thank you! And thank you Mr Mullin!

    Did he really pass away?
    I didn't know that.
If only we could go back to 1976
and save and bring back all these
    special people we have
    lost.
    Best,
    Marc

I love this song the best, it's so funny when the kids can rag fondly on their High School. What harmony! LOL. 'The president's a jerk, hmmm? LOL..That's right turn the page, Jack! This was so cute. LOL..The colleges don't know they exist...yep, guidance offices always get everything wrong..I think I can write one of these for my own school. You don't see it in this vid, but Jonny is the only one with highwaters, how cute.

@bluecanvas2 Oh, whoa... Sorry for responding that. But this is really sad. How many teachers have that care for their students??? Good thing is - if we can speak like that - many good men are surely feeling for his passing. The many lives he managed to touch in his work.

I have known that for 25 years.
