Haven't played h3vr since 2020, basically before the modding had started, I literally googled this mode just yesterday in hopes that someone was able to create it, and now here it is in my home page.
I just tried this mod with my kid after seeing your vid, it was a lot of fun. We played some Take n Hold and he ended up killing me after a while, then we played some Gun Game (which I finally got working lol) and that was pretty fun too. It works really well but I noticed whenever he'd sprint it would lag the entire game
Interesting! Might be some patching wonkiness with the custom map. Arpy, the mod creator, seems to be keeping an eye here, so maybe it'll get looked into!
Modding for this game is getting absolutely insane, combined with Antons support for both the game, and willingness to help modders, I can see this game being the like new vegas of VR. I'm stoked for it

I hope this is a great start to a great modding future, though remembering what Anton said, I am not crossing my fingers for symetrical multiplayer. Still - Big good job on the mod! The next time I'll be showing the game over to my friends I will sure as heck try and scare them with htis.
New game mode idea using this mod, the drone has to complete an obstacle course while the player attempts to shoot it down. Like halo duck hunt for the ogs here :)
H3VR is one of the games that needs some kind of built-in multiplayer as do a lot of games I hope Bone labs gets Quest compatible Multiplayer after it comes out I understand incorporating Multiplayer isn't the easiest of things to add in most VR games so it makes sense why a lot of games don't have it

i doubt that will happen, i once asked Anton if there was any chance of mp in the future as it would be awesome and take the game to a new level... he just got upset about it and called me entitled for asking, was kinda weird, guess im not the first one to ask.
@@ralphbooger4756 Multiplayer has been a whole thing with him. People have asked so much and he always says it's never happening because it'd be impossible to make it work well in a game with so much physics interaction.
@@ralphbooger4756 I've seen Anton be an asshole on the discord a couple times (check the pinned messages in #mods-general for a really bizarre example). I get the feeling he doesn't *really* like interacting with the fanbase. As to why there won't be multiplayer, from what I understand there's no practical way to implement it. There's too many complicated physics simulations going on at once, and syncing all of the necessary stuff just isn't possible. This mod works by having it be locally hosted, while the other player gets remote control of your computer (which is not a good way to do multiplayer, just the only way this mod can achieve it).
True multiplayer won't happen for a plethora of reasons - physics calculations and network latency, plus the fact that the game was never built with that in mind. Even LAN mods with two VR players on two machines ran like garbage when people attempted to mod it. This is about as close as we will get.

Fun little tip, you can leave the loading gate open on the henry 1860. Was getting tired of opening and closing it then realized: Wait I don't have to open it all the time? Does not interfere with the front post.

No way that im aware of. That would involve some additional work by the mod author, and im not even sure how straightforward a separate audio output for asynchronous multiplayer is in unity.
my rift s lags then the audio cuts out and sometimes makes a tv snow noise, i gotta hear the gun noises can literally anyone help? importantly i have like 250 mods which im gonna uninstall like 200 soon
Question as a sosig can you pick up weapons that the player doesn't use say you roll a shotgun that you don't want can the other player pick it up and use it or is that not a thing yet?
there is a "crazy mode" that arpy is actually using here that lets you possess any item. I dont think you can fire guns, but you'd be able to roll around as one lol. Edit: Arpy has proven me wrong below!
@@jeditobiwan oh you definitely can :P most guns at least. It'll really make you think twice before checking the barrel to see if your revolver is loaded. There's a few other interactions as well, I'd suggest keeping your grenades well away from a particularly evil player.

is it just me or has the tracking system become worse recently? i just got another 2 trackers for a proper 4 lighthouse 2.0 setup, and the tracking seems to be worse than how i remember with 2 lmao
If they are trying to play remotely, you need extra software called Parsec to make it work. There should be a tutorial on the thunderstore site for the mod to get everything up and running
Man, the sosigs movement speed compared to his is just unfair. I mean obviously the player has arms winger while the sosig player has to hop lol. But you should be able to respawn as your own sosig instead and pick a weapon of your choice
@@craig2196 ya ik. I'm just saying the way the player can move compared to the sosig is alot harder for the sosig. If they make it move quicker than it would be easier to strafe around corners
@@Antics456 I agree. It would be more fair. But still with the sosig being a character model and the VR person has bending around corners and blind firing so its just harder for the sosig but maybe if they buffed the sosig player a bit it would be more fair

Neat. More VR games need asymmetric modes to let people do fun local multiplayer stuff at the actual computer while you're in VR.

In the spectator settings, you mean? You might need to select a different sosig outfit, some of them can get busted if you are running mods.

The code is no longer necessary, the instructions must not have been updated.

I've had some issues recently too. Not sure why. I do have one base station behind on firmware though.
