Sibsy is one of the Storyboard artists since the very first episode and is also part of the Brony fandom 12:33 at that moment, I don't get how Twilight couldn't get that that wasn't Cadance... Chrysalis's magic is green and you' can see in the flashback that Cadance's magic is actually blue. For those who don't know her well, I can understand, for Shining Armor too since he's under hypnosis, but how can't Twilight and Celestia not have noticed it before ? 16:10 and I thought the Mane 6 had learned from Lesson Zero... sheesh I don't say that they are wrong in thinking that Twilight is possessive over her brother, she does seem that way to them, but in Lesson Zero they learned that they had to take a friend's feeling seriously. Spike its the only character in the series so far to notice when magic its in effect [S1E11 & S2E02]; while others like AppleJack [S1E11] just figured out as a logical explanation; and others like Pinkie Pie did not even see it in front of her eyes while in the dark [S2E24]) 17:50 It was probably a lesser changeling (also disguised as Cadance, to provide cover to the Queen when she was busy mindwiping Shining Armor). The three ponies in the cave were also changelings; (the chance to get their own love source by getting-married-first with the flowers was like trowing meat to hungry wolfs).

Your reaction to "Twilight has a brother" (basicly: What?) is pretty much the reaction of everyone. One of my favorite episodes. Yes there are some logical failures, or at least streches. who made the tread? how has Crysalis (official name of the changelingqueen) entered Canterlot after the shield was up? Where was Luna? all thing explainable. I always find Crysalis remark that "The power of love is useless now" a bit stupid from her, specially 5 minutes after the same love gave her enought power to defeat the god emperes of Equestria :P. But its still one of my favorits, and "This day aria" (the villian song) is in my oppinion still one of the best songs in the series.

I'll be honest: pulling the fact that Twilight has a brother out of nowhere when we've never had prior evidence is kind of jarring, but this was still an amazing season finale. Shining Armor and Cadence are both great ponies.

TheNightStar shining armour and cadence are ass pulls out of nowhere because the plot demands it. What was Chrysalis's plan? Infiltrate canterlot then threaten Canterlot so she gets shut inside with out her changeling army so she then has to remove shining armour to remove the shield so they can get in? Why didn't they just, oh you know, do what they do best and go stealth mode and take over canterlot 1 pony at a time? If they feed off love then what is terrorising the population gonna do? unless they just decided they like the taste of fear now. also if the changelings feed off love then why were they defeated by it in the end? Then Chrysalis just stands there and let's them defeat her for no reason Celestia says to get the elements of harmony but they're in that special store room that she had said back in the season premiere "that door is protected by a spell only I can break" so even if they got there they couldn't get the elements then there's the moral which basically says "if you're sceptical of someone never ever trust them or give them a chance because they're probably evil" in other words "never forget your mistrust" there's so much more I could say but I'm lazy
Well considering the Mane6 are the Bearers of the EoH it's not too much of a leap of logic to assume Celestia would put so.e kind of failsafe in place allowing them to retrieve the Elements if she were otherwise indisposed, even her word could give Twilight access to the room, after all magic has many forms. As for why the love defeats the changelings, well we like food right, we need it to live, but too much will give you indigestion. And eating the wrong type of food is bad for you too. The changelings absorb the love of others by impersonating the pony that love is directed toward, however the thing that defeated them ws two ponies combining their love for one another to power a shield that had already proven its worth against the swarms. As for terrorising Canterlot? It was point one of the plan. Take over Canterlot, them Chrysalis can take the place of Celestia, absorbing the love the ponies of Equestria feel for their great leader whilst establishing a base of operations for the other changlings. A lot of ponies visit Canterlot and can even be summond there by the all powerful sunbutt. So a full frontal attack was probably not the best way to go about it, but we don't know what she's tried before. I look at this episode as a pretty epic result of DHX doing the best they could out of a Hasbro mandate to cash in on the royal wedding. And you kinda got the moral a lityle muddled. Kids won't come away with that moral, and lets face it, they are who the morals are aimed at, it's more 'trust your instincts if you think someone's not acting themselves' and even then I never expect great morals from the premieres and finales since they're more about continuing the I going story than being written with a certain moral in mind as the majority of episodes.
I'm glad you really enjoyed this finale. I admit, it really took me off-guard too how epic and emotional it was. Yes, there are some plot holes, and yes it's a bit cheesy of a resolution, but this is definitely one of MLP's finest set of episodes.
The voice actor of Queen Chrysalis (the queen of the changelings) is Kathleen Barr, who was also Trixie and Hoops (the basketball-cutie-mark pony who was in Sonic Rainboom and said 'Rainbow Crash' a lot). She was also Marie Kanker and Kevin in Ed Edd n Eddy. Trivia, yay!
Canterlot wedding was one surprise after another. 1. Twlight's Brother and Cadence from out of no ware because Hasbro needed toys. 2. It wasn't girly at all even though weddings are typically girly, 3 changlings. Also this episode came out same time as the Royal Wedding and was highly promoted. A lot of people tend not to like the royal couple but mainly as they don't have a lot of time to get to know them. Also the songs in this are well fixed on many top ten lists even many top five lists even long after season 4 and its amazing songs. Also I know people who relate a lot to the big brother best friend forever. Still some thing I find about this day Area that gets me feeling all kinds of emotions. Also I have one question, if Spike did have that bachelor party what pony would you want to see dance at it?

My OC, Gearhead, can see magic auras, but only when he 'shifts focus.' He can also see magic concentrations. In and around Canterlot Castle it's pretty thick, which is useful when his magic is almost depleted. Chrysalis lost 'cause she turned her back on 'the power or love.' Cadence and Armour have especially good resonance. Anyone else thing a bit of 'Soul Eater' there? That 'Sonic Rainboom' was executed UPWARD! Think you mean 'Vinyl Scratch.' Hm. Wonder who Rarity has in mind when she jumped for the bouquet.

At the 21:00 mark was anybody else like "That's gona leave deep wonds" and when her friends go past you think "Auch put some salt on the wonds" and when Celestia goes past you go "aand take a shit on the wound while your at it... ok"
(Sorry about leaving so many comments, I just keep finding more things to say, haha! ^^;) My theory (it is just a theory, however, and I realised while watching your Hearts and Hooves Day video that Big Mac shopping for rings in Ponyville kind of debunks it, but oh well) about the wedding rings is that it's a ceremonial thing and it's exclusive to Canterlot. Since Canterlot is mostly unicorns, it makes sense. We also don't see Cadance and Shining Armour wearing them after the ceremony.

The rings on the horns are probably a Canterlot thing, since Canterlot was founded by Unicorns. I imagine a wedding in Ponyville would have a different tradition that's more akin to Earth Ponies. And Cloudsdale probably has its own tradition exclusive to Pegasi.
I think what I enjoy most about this two-parter is the pacing and structure. It's presented as a relatively simple social conflict at first, with more and more depth added as time progresses, eventually transforming into an action-packed battle for the capitol city against a force of shapeshifting bug-ponies. The audience has questions right from the start, and each answer only provides more questions. Even them, some questions never get answered. "Oh, there's a wedding? Who's getting married?" "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Twilight's brother Shining Armor." "Wait, Twilight has a _brother?"_ "Her big-brother-best-friend-forever, currently residing as the Captain of the Royal Guard in Canterlot, hence the infrequent communication." "Wait, so who...?" "Twilight's foalsitter, informally known as Cadance." "Wait, Twilight's foalsitter was a princess?" "Yeah, Twilight sure was a lucky little filly, wasn't she? That was even before she became Celestia's student. Just wait 'til you meet her!" "But why was she a...oh, wow. Why is she such a bitch? That's distracting me from the fact that she was a princess!" Et cetera, et cetera... LOVED your reaction, Ladix. Of all the two-parters, I think this one is my favorite to watch reactions to, mostly for all the twists and turns involved. ESPECIALLY Chrysalis!
I hadn't even considered that we might be seeing Cadance through... shall we say purple-tinted glasses, for most of the first episode. That's really interesting.
I guess it won´t matter how often I will watch this episode, it will always be something special. So, let´s see what you think about Season 3. Some don´t like it that much, I for one think it is an absolute great Season. Episode 6 is my personal fav.
So the thing with me is the first time I watched this episode, I thought that Celestia was being really incompetent in not realizing what was going on with Cadence, since all the security she had in place was specifically to guard Canterlot from the Changelings. But after Season 3 it all makes sense as to exactly why she was doing this.
I think this was the ideal mlp episode with a good balance of cute girls being badass and emotion especially for really love their sisters brothers like myself whoim my only problem was if chrysalis wanted to get Shining Armor out of the way to get rid of the barrier why not just bump him off it sure would involve less commitment than marrying the guy. also this is the episode where they really stopped taking sonic ranbooms seriously she used to barly be able to do it here she almost does one out a window traveling up yet.

The rings on the horns are probably a Canterlot thing, since Canterlot was founded by Unicorns. I imagine a wedding in Ponyville would have a different tradition that's more akin to Earth Ponies. And Cloudsdale probably has its own tradition exclusive to Pegasi.
The DJ aside from her official name also goes by Vinyl Scratch in the fandom most of the time.
I think what I enjoy most about this two-parter is the pacing and structure. It's presented as a relatively simple social conflict at first, with more and more depth added as time progresses, eventually transforming into an action-packed battle for the capitol city against a force of shapeshifting bug-ponies. The audience has questions right from the start, and each answer only provides more questions. Even them, some questions never get answered.

"Wait, Twilight has a _brother?"_
"Her big-brother-best-friend-forever, currently residing as the Captain of the Royal Guard in Canterlot, hence the infrequent communication."

"Twilight's foalsitter, informally known as Cadance."
"Wait, Twilight's foalsitter was a princess?"
"Yeah, Twilight sure was a lucky little filly, wasn't she? That was even before she became Celestia's student. Just wait 'til you meet her!"
"But why was she a...oh, wow. Why is she such a bitch? That's distracting me from the fact that she was a princess!"

Up until I saw the Season 4 finale today, this was my favorite episode of the whole series.
Another week, another season. Could have even beaten your previous time if it weren't for the unfortunate laptop problems.
I hadn't even considered that we might be seeing Cadance through... shall we say purple-tinted glasses, for most of the first episode. That's really interesting.

So the thing with me is the first time I watched this episode, I thought that Celestia was being really incompetent in not realizing what was going on with Cadence, since all the security she had in place was specifically to guard Canterlot from the Changelings. But after Season 3 it all makes sense as to exactly why she was doing this.

I think this was the ideal mlp episode with a good balance of cute girls being badass and emotion especially for really love their sisters brothers like myself whoim my only problem was if chrysalis wanted to get Shining Armor out of the way to get rid of the barrier why not just bump him off it sure would involve less commitment than marrying the guy. also this is the episode where they really stopped taking sonic ranbooms seriously she used to barly be able to do it here she almost does one out a window traveling up yet.
